Chapter 16 - ...Doesn't Stay in Vegas
When Nolan got the call from Stephan, he booked a first-class ticket to Las Vegas. He figured it would be best to go himself to tell Luci she could either be his mate or be killed; it was her choice.
As he left his office, he thought about the best way to get her away from the lycan she was staying with. Nolan wondered what the deal was because Luci didn't stay with anyone. Lycans were usually related to royalty, so he knew he couldn't kill the guy.
Nolan thought it would be best to sneak in to get Luci and get out without the lycan knowing. As he rode to the airport, he made a phone call. He needed someone who would be able to subdue the lycan so they could get Luci. Then it would look like she just left him high and dry.
As Nolan's driver pulled up to the airport, he got a text saying someone would meet him at the hotel that would be able to subdue the lycan. He smiled to himself; Luci's mouth would be shut one way or another.
When Nolan got off the plane, a car was waiting to take him to Luci's hotel. As they pulled up, a man standing next to the entrance nodded at Nolan. He walked over to him and spoke so only Nolan could hear.
"I will take care of the lycan. Follow me. I know what room they're in." Nolan nodded and followed the man into the hotel. They bypassed the front desk and went straight to the elevators.
When they got off the elevator, the man led Nolan to the end of the hallway and pulled out a key card. Nolan didn't want to know how he got that, but he was glad he did. The man rushed in when they opened the door, with Nolan behind him.
When they got inside, Nolan yelled in anger. The room was empty, and from the looks of it, they had left recently. Nolan could smell the scent of sex in the room. He walked around to see if anything showed where they were going.
All of their belongings were gone, but Nolan found a piece of paper lying on the dresser with his name on it. *Check, mate. Better luck next time, asshole.* Nolan balled the paper up and threw it across the room.
He wasn't going to let her get away with this. Nolan no longer cared what Damien said; he would kill that little bitch. He would make her disappear so no one would ever know what happened to her. Nolan left the room and headed back to the car. There was no reason to stay in Las Vegas; he was sure she was long gone.
_______________________
Luci and Xavier were laughing as they drove out of Las Vegas. Xavier had told his contacts to keep an eye on the manifests for commercial flights, and if Nolan's name came up on any of them, they were to let him know as soon as possible.
He and Luci had finally worn themselves out after making love all night. They had only been asleep for an hour when he received a call that Nolan was on his way to Las Vegas.
Xavier woke Luci and told her they needed to get out of there. She didn't question him as she quickly packed her bags and threw on some clothes. Xavier had a rental car delivered to him at the back door, and they took the emergency exit down to skip the lobby.
Luci kept looking behind them, worried that someone might be following them. Once they had been on the freeway for a little while, she calmed down and turned to Xavier.
"Where are we going now?" Luci took his hand in hers. She needed his touch to calm her down.
"I haven't thought about it yet, but what do you think about getting a remote cabin somewhere away from everything and everyone? I can call ahead and have it stocked with everything we need." Xavier raised her hand and kissed her knuckles.
Luci didn't know why, but that sent a flurry of sensations throughout her body. She thought about the night they had and smiled. Xavier had made her orgasm so many times with his mouth, fingers, and penis. She probably wouldn't be able to walk today if she were human. Even after so many times, all she could think about was getting him back in bed for more.
"That sounds great. Can you have a supply of blood brought there as well? If we keep doing what we did last night, I'll run out of energy quickly, and I don't want to scare the humans when I need a snack." Luci winked at him, and he laughed.
Xavier made a phone call and rented a cabin near Lake Havasu in Arizona. He thought it was small enough that they wouldn't run into anyone, and it would give them some much-needed alone time.
He made a second phone call to have the cabin stocked for them, including a supply of blood for Luci. He planned on doing a lot more of what they did the night before. Zeke was licking his lips in his head while nodding his approval. He had enjoyed himself, too. There were a few times Xavier had let Zeke join in to taste her too.
It would take them about two hours to get to the cabin, and Xavier couldn't get there fast enough. The more he thought about getting her naked again, the faster he drove. He heard Luci laughing, and she leaned over to whisper in his ear.
"Don't worry; when we get there, I'll make sure to ease your stress." Luci had picked up on how much he liked when she played with his ears, so she sucked on the lobe a little.
"If you do more of that, we won't make it to the cabin." Xavier was straining in his pants already from what she was doing to his ear. Luci laughed and gave one last little suck before moving away.
"What made you change your mind about making love to me?" She was almost afraid to ask in case he decided to stop, but she needed to know. Nothing had changed as far as she knew because she still hadn't claimed him as her mate.
"Yesterday on the plane, when you were begging me, do you remember what you said?" He saw Luci furrow her brows in thought.
"No, not specifically why?" She was confused now. What had she said that made him go along with it?
"You asked me to make love to you. Not have sex with you or fuck you. You begged me to make love to you. Hearing you say those words made me give in and do everything I did last night. That's what making love is, Luci. I put your needs and satisfaction above mine. I wanted to please you in every way I could until you were out of your mind with pleasure. Taking care of you satisfies me." Luci thought about what he said and realized he was right; she had asked him to make love to her. She looked at him in shock as she processed how he must have taken it.
"Sweetheart, calm down. I didn't think you were saying you would be my mate, but I also knew I could no longer stop myself from being with you. I want to make you crave me, so the thought of any other man makes you sick. I want to lick, kiss, and suck every inch of your beautiful body until you are numb with desire. Then I'll know I did everything possible to make you want to accept me." Xavier looked at Luci, and she was blushing slightly.
"Well, I'm not going to ask you to stop. All I can think about is getting you to the cabin so I can feel you inside me again. I already crave you. Even at that party, when I had sex in front of you, I was doing it to drive you away. When I saw you walk out the door, I was a little upset, and I left right after the man finished with me. I was hoping that putting distance between us would stop the guilt I was feeling." Luci squeezed his hand as they drove.
"What you did before you were with me doesn't concern me. You were your own woman, which helped make you who you are today, so how could I have a problem with that? It would break my heart to see you with another man now." Luci turned so he wouldn't see her smile. She had no desire to be with any other man, but she wasn't ready to make that confession yet.
She turned slightly to study Xavier and felt her pulse speed slightly. He was so handsome it should be a crime, especially now because he hadn't shaved, so his cheeks were a little rough.
Luci had to look away when she glanced at his lips, she thought about everything he had done to her with those lips. She was going to return the favor when they got to the cabin. Last night he had made it clear, it was all about her, but today she was turning the tables. She smiled as they got further and further away from Las Vegas. Yes, she would show him that she could please him, too.
Luci was speechless when they pulled up to the cabin a couple of hours later. It was small and perfect. It looked like a hidden gem in the middle of the forest with no other place in sight.
The one-story A-frame cabin had a large wrap-around deck, and the front and back had a wall of windows. When they walked inside, Luci could tell someone had been there.
It was very warm and inviting, with candles lit everywhere, giving the inside a soft glow. The sofa was overstuffed, and Luci felt it would be like heaven to sit on. There was a massive fireplace in one corner, and from the back windows, there was a spectacular view of the lake.
When they walked into the bedroom, Luci gasped in surprise. It had the same theme as her bedroom at home, with all the bedding done in white and pastels. She looked up at Xavier, and he smiled.
"I noticed that you liked pale soothing colors, so I asked them to put those colors on the bed to make you feel more at home for as long as we're here." Luci jumped into his arms.
"Drop the bags, Xavier. Let's give this bed a try."
