Chapter Ten: Voiced into Reality
I didn't want to believe what I had just heard from the lips of Liam . He looked everywhere other than my face.
"I know you may be thinking that I work for the hunters, but that's not the case. I am actually loyal to the pack and would forever be loyal to Felix ." I still couldn't believe what he had told me.
"Why were they planning to sell me ?" I asked.
"Sell you? Octapos would never dare! I actually saved your life and if not for anything you should be grateful." Liam spoke and this pulled a string of curiosity into my system.
"Save me? How do you mean?" I asked.
"You were poisoned! Whoever had poisoned you had only one intention at heart; they wanted to make sure you wouldn't have your child." My mouths were wide open as everything Liam said made total sense.
"They were so smart that they set the entire gym ablaze when they realized you were inside there. I was quick to get you out of the gym and through the other exit door to Octopos. He is a high chief and is respected amongst the hunter. There is no way the healer could get the poison of your system." It was finally making more sense.
"But I had seen him speaking with the hunters and I thought they were negotiating how I would be sold." Liam laughed at my assumptions.
"Oliver might be the healer for the hunters, he is still loyal to me and he knows where his loyalty would stay, when push comes to shove." I shook my head in understanding.
"I need to beg you however, let this stay between us. I don't want Felix knowing anything yet. I am trying to undercover the person behind this act and I am doing it without his awareness. Felix is a powerful leader, but a lot of the time he is a practical person. I need to do things subtlety to get the answers I need." I understood everything Liam was talking about. Felix would most likely make the enemies aware that he was after them.
"How did you and Oliver get related by blood?" I asked
"Our family is a compilation of humans and werewolves. Most of my cousins who weren't turned remained humans. Oliver was one of them. I have been a werewolf all my life and even though everyone knew of my distinct gene, they always choose to respect me."
I nodded my head understanding his explanation of things. The thought that someone could really wish for me to loose my child was scary. I didn't go about the pack creating enemies, which is why I wondered who could potentially be the suspect.
"Do you have any suspect in mind? Anyone who has been moving suspiciously in the pack?" Liam looked up in my direction and a glimpse of smile showed on his face.
"Of course I do and all I need is a concrete evidence to pin such person down. Soon they would be exposed." He said with determination on his face.

Annie POV
Getting out of the pack was relatively easy unlike the last time. This time I was determined to get answers from the witch, who I believed had failed me.
When I laid eyes on Aurora , I was shocked to the bone and for a moment I had believe I was seeing a ghost, but I was wrong, Aurora was still very much alive.
On arrival at the Old hut, the place was quiet with only smells of herbs polluting the environment. There was always an eerie feeling I had when I step into the hut.
"I see you are back!" The voice of the witch echoed around the room, but there was no sign of her. "Are you back to get me out of this place finally?" She asked adding up a squeaky laughter.
"On the contrary, I am here to tell you that your potion failed. Aurora is still very much alive." A mist suddenly pulled through a veil curtain and the witch appeared.
"What did you say?" She asked obviously shocked by my announcement.
"Aurora didn't die. When I met her today she was hale and healthy." I restated.
"Impossible, that cannot be true. My potions are very potent and if Aurora didn't die, it can only mean she was helped." For a moment I thought about what the witch had just said.
Aurora didn't die by the poison, neither did she get burnt alive in the flames I had set in the gym. So it meant someone had likely helped her out.
"She was supposed to head over to the gym, which I had already set in flames and be burned to ashes, but it was such a a miracle that she survived it with no scratch." I indicated still pissed over Aurora 's presence.
"This means my poison was subdued and the only person with such power is the high chief." I stared at the witch for a moment, wondering what she was talking about.
"The high chief? Who is that?" I asked curiosity getting the best of me.
"The high chief is the spiritual figure head of the wolf hunters. He is the reason why these hunters can be very powerful because they rely on his power." She paused for a moment as though entering a sort of trance.
"We need a new plan and I think I know the perfect plan." She said while her eyes were still closed. "This time we would need to go for Felix and not Aurora . It is only the Alpha that can turn things in your favour." While I understood she had a point, Felix on the other hand was a no nonsense Alpha.
"So what do I do?" I asked eager to get what I desired.
"We will need something relative to his soul. That way I will be able to create the illusion in his head that you are his true mate and not Aurora ." The plan was marvelous and I had completely bought her idea.
"So what exactly is close to Felix soul that I would need to get?" I asked eager to start right away.
"You will need his semen."
