Trapped
Feddrick left a swisher's smile and stood up." I heard you're searching everywhere for your Master. I would like to take you in myself, but I cannot defy your father's commands since he was my master once. "
"Why did he close his own son's gate of energy?
That I still can't fathom". He continued as he picked the sword from the shelf it was and placed it on the table. "The mages' energy flows through this sword, someone as ordinary as you are will not be able to unsheathe it."
Stefan took the sword from the table and turned it around in the air to unsheathe it. Feddrick's heart skipped as though Stefan was about to unsheathe the sword. Stefan brought the sword down and looked at him.
"Are you afraid I will do it?" Stefan asked. " If I unsheathe it, it means I will be qualified as the next Warlord, meaning you will be disqualified from getting that position."
Feddrick is confident that Stefan won’t be able to unsheathe the sword, so he simply left out a smile which Stefan equally smiled back.
"Don't worry, I cannot unsheathe it for now." Stefan took a bow and walked away.
Feddrick took special interest in the statement 'for now'. Just as Stefan steps out of the chambers, one of Feddrick's men comes running in to talk to him.
"I saw fire crackers coming from Larkville." The guard said.
"Are you sure it's coming from Larkville?"
"Yes, my lord. It came from the valley, Elena's former home." The guard said.
Feddrick then sent him and some of his men to the market square to purchase the spirit Plague.
On getting to the market, the men approached a man selling all kinds of things in exchange for coins and dropped a picture of the Spirit Plague right in front of his table.
"I am looking for the one with the Spirit Plague." The head mage said, looking boldly at him.
The seller, knowing who possesses the plague, highlights a little boy to go get Merinda.
Merinda is Liza's sister, he had tiptoed to the room where Liza and Cressida had negotiated on the price of the Spirit Plague and eavesdropped on their conversation. She later went to steal the Spirit Plague from where Liza had earlier kept it.
The young body ran to meet her, the sketched paper indicating the presence of the buyers.
"Ma'am they are here." He said.
"I guess someone wants to buy it." She said excitedly. The little boy simply nodded, smiling. Merinda immediately went up the market to see the men.
" The very last room, please." She was ordered in by the seller.
Merinda went into the room to meet the men and presented the paper drawing to him.
" Are you the one.who brought this?" She asked showing the spirit Plague drawing to him.
" I have come to buy the spirit Plague." The man said stonely.
" You have come to the right person." Merinda said smiling. She brought out the Plague and gave it to him.
Meanwhile, Cressida had gone back to get the spirit Plague from Liza. They were both on their way to the market in search of Merinda.
" How could you lose it?" She asked furiously.
" I didn't lose it, it was stolen and I'm certain it was Merinda.
On getting to the market, they met with the Jewelries seller who had earlier directed the men to Merinda.
"You know me right? I told you to let me know if someone brought that drawing." Liza tried to explain to the man.
"And I did. She's meeting them upstairs." The man answered.
Liza, being visibly furious, stared around for Merinda. " So it was Merinda?"
All of a sudden a loud voice came from the room upstairs where Merinda and the men were. The mages were earlier instructed by Feddrick to kill the girl afterwards to avoid further problems.
While the voice sounded, the market guards tried to make their way to where it came from. There was commotion everywhere. Liza and Cressida equally ran towards the stairs when the room door banged open and one of the guards angrily came out of the room with the mage siege of Greham pointing it towards the crowd of people already gathered around.
" We are mages from Greham, we just got a thief. You can mind your own business." He announced as the rest of the mages came out from the room with Merinda's dead body. As they walk past the stunned crowd.
Cressida was astonished, she stood there looking at them speechless.
"He killed her, he thought it was me. The Salvatore has cut me off." Cressida thought to herself.
In Greham Palace, the entire province of Elysian is gathered outside. Feddrick has Elena’s body placed in the woods. The Pandora mages are equally present. Morgan remembers being friends with Elena while they were young. They'd meet often in the woods. He had given her the pet bird whistle there.
"Begin." Feddrick instructed the men to start setting the fire on the woods where Elena's body was placed.
"Yes, my lord." They answered in unison.
Cressida happens to be watching from the crowd.
"Greham caught Elena when Pandora failed?" Someone asked from the crowd.
"Pandora was pretty much humiliated, the assistant Warlord is over there. You are right." Another answered. Feddrick was seated up on the podium high above the crowd
Cressida was caught by the incessant chat from the crowd. She looked up at where Feddrick was seated and recognized the men who killed Merinda on his right hand side.
" So the Salvatore was Feddrick, the assistant Warlord of the loyal Greham." Cressida recalls while she was Elena, she never got to see Salvatore's face because he was always on a veil.
" I am burning, just like how my house and parents burned on that day." She continued.
" I will give you power, will you come with me?". A man on a basket veil had told little Elena on the night her parents and kinsmen were killed. She gladly stretched her little palm into his and he held her up. Everything was clear now, Feddrick trained her to be an assassin in order to eliminate Pandora and its leaders.
