The Surge Of Energy

Stefan wakes up in a pool of water in his room from a dream of what had happened in the past. He was confused and speechless.There, a beaten-down Stefan woke up remembering his banishment as every twinge and words of Petrova Theodore came running down his mind as though it just happened. He seats back in the pool panting.

However, Maidservant Kim the next morning had gone to meet Cressida who was going about her daily chores outside the beauty compound of Donovan.

" Cressida, is Young Master still not talking?" She asked. 




"No. His back was flogged, but it seems his mouth was as well.




"He cries in pain even when he bumps his finger into something. But he is silent after being flogged 100 times. I am truly worried." Maidservant Kim said.




"He is a crybaby. So I am guessing it is still unbearable for him."




" His back is not what is paining him. It is his back." Lady Kim beats her chest to demonstrate it. " He was cast away by the man he considered a father figure. Imagine how he feels. He must think he was abandoned. Hearing this, Cressida heads to her pupil to discuss the fact that the incident will allow him more time to train with the torrent of energy he was afforded. She opened his room door noisily yet Stefan didn't move an inch from where he stood neither did he say a word. He concentrated on his robe and tried to tie up his wounds. Cressida looked at him for a while and sighs.

" You should be happy you got flogged. They will not be able to retrieve the torrent of energy right away." Cressida leaned on the wall tiredly. " You will have more time to train." For the first time after the incident, Stefan acted like he was listening to her. He stood still backing her. He didn't say anything after she was done talking for more than three minutes. She Left the wall where she stood and went closer to him again. " Young Master, are you okay?" 

Stefan simply looked at her for minutes speechless, then went closer to the water and squatted on the poolside, stretching his palm over the water. The water made ripples and started making rippling sounds.

" Cressida, look at that." Stefan called out. I think I used my energy to make these ripples." Cressida was quiet. She looked at him as though he was only imagining things. Cressida squatted close to the water and hit it with a water pan.




"The water is just rippling." She said face straight. 




" Why is it not working? I have been using my breathing technique." Stefan seemed tired as everything he did wasn't working.




"Is that what you've been doing in silence? I thought you were wallowing in sadness for being abandoned. I was wrong."




" Wallowing in sadness. I was abandoned from the moment I was born. And this is not my first time getting kicked out. It does not face me. Just wait and see. I will make them beg me to come back to Pandora." He demonstrated the last lines with ego. 




"Mm-mm." Cressida scoffs." I guess being stupid can be useful at times."




"I am acting with Vigor. By the way,why is it so hot here?" Stefan asked.




" Hot? I am cold." Cressida then puts her hand inside the pool. "Why did the water become so hot?" She placed her hand on Stefan's neck." Why are you burning up?"




" I feel strange. I think my body is getting hotter." Stefan kept rubbing his hands all over his body.




" Is it the energy?" Cressida thought for a while. " But why so soon?" She was confused. " It was the flogging,it caused the torrent of energy to surge faster." She slapped him on the arm excitedly. " I am glad you got flogged." Stefan is still in closed tight arms and rubbing his palms all over his body.




"Cressida, I'm burning up." He seemed sick already.




" You will burn up once the torrent of energy transforms into heat. Then you will feel chilly when it becomes cold. That energy will be yours only if you can bear that. Keep breathing slowly. Cressida asked him to enter into the pool while she kept pouring water she fetched from the well on him. Each pour brought out Vapors, Cressida kept going to the well to get water until Maidservant Kim boomed into her.




" Cressida. Is the Young Master still bathing? It has been almost an hour." Maidservant Kim stopped her.




"If she finds out, she will tell Pandora. Then we will lose the torrent of energy." One of her internal Monologues. She finally thought of what to say. " Medical herbs!" She screamed. " He is bathing in medical herbs. I have dissolved some medical herbs and let him bathe in them to treat his wound. " Cressida said, trying to act it.




" Is that so." Maidservant Kim looked at her suspiciously. " Good thinking." She walked past her and then stopped." Hold on. " She dipped her hands into the water Cressida was carrying in a bucket. "Then why is the water cold?"  




" Sorry?" Cressida asked again, scared of the unknown and confused at the same time.




"The water must have cooled down in the past hours. So why are you not bringing him hot water? " Is he running a fever? " Maidservant guessed after Cressida didn't say anything after seconds passed. Lady Kimberly on realizing she could be right called out to Stefan and went in to see him. 

Maidservant Kim went straight to the pool and dipped her hand into it.

"That is so cold. How could you let this happen? What if he catches a cold?" Lady Kim said. Cressida who had just dropped the bucket of water she came in with was left in a state of confusion. Kim left angrily. Cressida deeped her hands as well only to experience the cold of the water.




"The boiling hot water became ice-cold." She rushed to the room in search of Stefan.




"Young Master. Where is he?" Maidservant Kim panicked. She had run out of the pool first to go look for him painting. Stefan was just seated by the bookshelf reading a book when she saw him there and held her chest in relief. "Young Master, are you alright?" She gasps for air.




" Yes. Bathing in herbal medicine has made me relaxed but drowsy." Stefan said.

Cressida ran in more confused to see him sitting still. 




"Come on now. Go and make his bed." Kim ordered Cressida.




"It is the cold. His body is freezing now." Cressida said to herself after observing him try to cover his body with his robe.




She rushed to meet him after the Maidservant left the room. Stefan who was sitting by the desk started breathing heavily and gasping, clenching his fists in cold. He only pretended to be fine when Lady Kim was around.




I am freezing, I think I am covered in ice ." Stefan had smoke coming out of his mouth. 




" It is the cold. Your energy is surging faster than I thought. Keep breathing." She said,

Cressida made his bed and put him on it. He covered him with multiple clothes and blankets. She went to get the fire tinker to warm him up.




" I am freezing. I think I might faint. " He said. Cressida quickly dropped the tinker and covered him some more.




" Fight it. You must fight it." Stefan made to pass out, then she started clapping his cheek." Stefan Donovan, stay alert. You could freeze to death if you fall asleep now." She hit him some more until he opened his eyes. Get up." She made him sit up." You need to keep breathing.``

She continued heating up the fire tinker in the room.




However, in Pandora, Morgan and Trevor triedyti convince Petrova Theodore to remove the verdict put up on Stefan but it seemed not to be working.




"Uncle, Morgan and I are the only friends Stefan has. He has nowhere but Pandora to call home. Please let him return to Pandora." Trevor said running after Petrova as well as Morgan walking side by side.
