Chapter 39

My palms are sweating and I keep on fidgeting on my seat. My heart is pounding non stop. I scanned the room and heaved a sigh.
Everything's normal, nothing's wrong. Everyone is fine, minding their own business. I pursed my lips and gazed at Denard, who's busy typing on his phone.
It was almost an hour after the Montevero brothers left. If no one called on his cell phone, he probably wouldn’t leave.
"Lineah, we need to leave. Now," he said, then put down the cellphone.
"What happened?"
"Let's talk about that later." it grabbed my wrist, I immediately withdrew it.
"I want to know what happened to our Denard plan."
"We'll talk about it later, we need to Lineah," he said.
My forehead furrowed. Letse! Why is Denard acting like this ?!
"W-why don't you tell me? Didn't it go well--"
"Lineah, let's go." He promised emphatically, it squeezed my hand.
I even want to know what happened to our plan. I prefer to follow Denard. His haste made me even more nervous.
I let him pull me closer to Dad and Uncle Ephraim. They immediately confronted us.
"Tito, Dad. We're going now," he said.
Dad's forehead furrowed. "I thought we were going home together?"
Denard glared at me and then smiled at Dad.
"Maybe Lineah forgot to tell you about our date after this event."
Denard's right. I'm so excited about this event that I forgot to tell him about our "date" tonight.
Dad's gaze shifted to me.
"Lineah didn't even mention to me about your walk."
"Ignacio, leave those two alone. They've taken care of a lot in the company, only now can they date again." Tito Ephraim said, he knows we're not going on a date. It's all part of the plan. Even if it's part of the plan, I can't help it because Denard will act. I don’t know if the plan worked well or failed.
"Okay. Be careful you two. Have fun." he said, and he hugged me before leaving.
Hopefully this night will be as fun as I expected.
He didn't say a word after we left the gala. We stopped opposite the elevator. He clasped our hands together. I took a deep breath before we entered the elevator. It pressed my waist closer to him. His lips covered mine. I reciprocated his kiss as if I was very thirsty on my lips.
I glanced at the CCTV in the elevator. That decision was wrong because my chest was pounding even more. Even though it couldn't stop beating, I continued kissing Denard. It was part of the plan and I had to follow that.
"Stop staring at the CCTV camera, Lineah," he said in between kisses.
I nodded and focused on kissing her. We had to kiss in the elevator so as not to be suspected. We did that to convince the police who will check the CCTV cameras tomorrow that they were not suspects, they were lovers who wanted to get laid. After that intense make out, I'm sure they wont suspect us.
When we got out of the hotel we went straight to its car. Denard opened the passenger seat door and I immediately entered. I waited for him to get into the car before I spoke.
"Denard tell me what's going on--"
"They got 'em," he said.
My eyes widened. "R-really?"
"Yes, Lineah. We got them."
Letse! My heart almost exploded with excitement earlier because of his actions, it wasn't a mistake!
"Success is our plan!" I exclaimed.
"No, Lineah. We're just getting started. We can't say our plan succeeded if the first step is done." He made a serious promise.
"You're right Denard. S-shall we go to them?"
"Yes. We'll take the shortcut. It's as if we can't see that we passed the car of the Montevero brothers."

The car stopped at Denard's rest house, which also looked like a mansion. The house is hidden in the secluded forest where there is a nearby lake. Here we chose to hide the siblings. I'm sure this kind place is nostalgic for them.
I smiled at the picture that went through my mind. Theron and Thander beg for my forgiveness.
Finally.
We got them in our own hands. I will also get the justice I deserve for my mother.
We kidnapped them. The only way for them to get free is if they return Salvatore Corporations to me. But of course everything won't be easy for them. I will make them pay. I will torture them while they are in my powder. I will end the pain they made me feel before. I will avenge my mother.
"Where are they?" I opened up to the man Denard had assigned to be in charge of the kidnapping.
We had ten staff paid for it. I didn’t expect half of the ten to be sloppy and it looked like just a flip was going to fall, we were short of budget so maybe it was just the amount of money we could afford. It doesn't matter, they did a good job even if they were slapped because they got Theron and Thander. I can’t wait to see the fear in their eyes.
"It's in the basement Ma'am, following your orders," he said. He is just the right height, his body is not very big but he has a lot of tattoos. My eyebrows rose as he caressed my bald head.
"Take us there."
Denard and I followed its crew. It was dark all around when we got down. It only shone when he turned on the light. It was just the right size, like a bedroom. There is an agiw in every corner. Some old and broken items are still scattered here.
On the side, not far from the stairs where we were I found the familiar body volume slumped on the floor. His clean suit was full of sand, torn and had a large torn end of his pants. Its white polo inside was stained with a red stain, that blood was probably dripping from his head.
"Where's the doctor I'm sending here?"
"I think I'm on my way, Ma'am."
"Call again and tell him to hurry up if he doesn't want his head to bleed." Damn! Too long! We even plan to kill this Thander! That doctor must be here right away to treat him! I might not have benefited Thander if he had died suddenly. He shouldn’t have died, they still had to suffer Theron for what they did to us. This bwiset Theron ---
"Where's the other one?" kunot noo kong tanong. I looked around. Thander was alone in this basement.
"Where's the other one ?! Answer me!"
The man scratched his head so hard, he even bowed down.
"We didn't get it Ma'am."
What ?! Is what I heard correct?
"What do you mean?"
"When the car crashed, the two of us were unconscious and we immediately took this one. When we got in the van we went back to the other one, when we were about to get out of the crashed car, he suddenly regained consciousness. He even fought with us. We tried to chase the escape but we were spared when we heard the sound of the police. "
My fists balled.
"You idiots! Why did you run away? Didn't we already know that you will kidnap them both! Not just one!"
"Ma'am we tried but that one was strong even though there were wounds. Five men chased after him but he still escaped, he was too strong."
"Any man can really escape stupid kidnappers like you!" I shouted.
"Lineah, calm down."
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes tightly.
"How can I calm down Denard? Our plan to kidnap those two Montevero brothers didn't work out!"
"We got one of them," he said.
"Not just one of them tortured me and even more so not one of them is the only one to get the punishment they both deserve!"
"Ma'am, the doctor seems to be there ---"
"Shut up! I don't want to hear any words from you!"
Denard reached for my hand. I turned to him, he smiled at me before turning his gaze to the man.
"All right, get the doctor here."
The lazy kidnapper nodded and left!
I withdrew my hand from Denard.
"Ugly smile kapa dyan! You can see that our plan failed!"
He glared at Thander before approaching me.
"You need to calm down my love." he whispered and caressed my cheeks.
I sighed.
"What are we going to do, Denard? We can't just kidnap Theron because I'm sure they'll double his security. They'll be alert now especially since Thander is missing. We can't just kidnap Theron! How can this be ?!"
I moved a little away from him.
I smirked in the face. "Damn, because these kidnappers! Pure lies!"
"But isn't this a spontaneous foolishness?"
My forehead furrowed.
"When else has misfortune been so funny for you Denard? You're the one who said you don't want the two years we spent for this revenge to go to waste but here you are now and still happy with the stupidity of the kidnappers you took!"
It smiled as it approached me. He tenderly touched my waist.
"Their misfortune is the way to get your company Lineah back to you."
My forehead furrowed as it tore the strand of my hair, he pinned it to the back of my ear. He gave me a warm kiss on the cheek. It smiled to face me.
"What do you mean Denard?"
"Well trade his brother to get back the Salvatore Corporations."
