Chapter 31 - Tiffany’s Revelation
The doctor and I maintained silence throughout the journey to Tiffany's residence. He did not look at me, and I was aware that there was nothing I could say, not with Bullet in front of me. My thoughts raced back and fourth about what Tiffany had to say to me. I was Somewhat anticipating an ambush with her and Luke. I could be inadvertently entering a trap; she may have disclosed everything to him.
A short while later, we made a stopping at Tiffany's residence. I nodded my farewell to the doctor. He swiftly grasped my hands and I felt him slam something into my palms before swiftly retrieving it. I attempted to maintain a nonchalant demeanor like normal and cleared my throat. Bullet's eyes were now focused on me.
"I'll pick you up in one hour." he declared.
Okay," I replied.
I hastily exited the vehicle and awaited its departure before realizing that I had a small piece of paper in my hand. A small pill emerged from the package as I rapidly unwrapped it. A message was visible on the paper.
Take this, as it will render you incapable of ever bearing children.
"Ava, you came!" Tiffany's shrill voice pierced the quiet surrounding. I swiftly inserted the pill and the paper into my pockets and quickly turned to face her.
I replied, "You said that it was important."
"Indeed. Due to Luke still being here, we can't talk now. Come quickly and maintain a regular demeanor. After a brief period, he will leave."
She joined my arm with mine, and we proceeded to her residence, passing the grand staircase and entering the living room. Luke prescence held a similar weight. I was reminded of Damon's presence; the air seemed heavy.
"Sweetheart, Ava is here."
No expression was conveyed by his nod toward me.
"I hope you're doing alright Luke."
He groaned and sipped the remaining liquor in his glass. "Just fine," he said.
"We're going to have a little bit of a ladies night tonight."
"All right, that's my queue to leave," he said, and the ground trembled."I am leaving for Somber Forest to monitor the progress of the troops. Stay away from the liquor cabinet," he told her.
She smiled with all full teeth. I could see the red bruise on her jaw that was concealed beneath her cakey makeup. It seemed as though she was attempting to conceal her face by applying an excessive amount of makeup. I examined the remainder of her skin. I could see the number of visible bruises and those that appeared to have faded. The scratches were also countable. I was more sympathetic toward her.
"Indeed, honey. "You have a pleasant evening tonight."
Luke marched out.
"Well, Ava. Would you like a beverage?" Or, perhaps some snacks? Tiffany was speaking at a higher volume than usual in order to prevent Luke from forming any suspicions.
I responded, "I would appreciate some water and perhaps some fruit."
"Carla!"
A maid entered the house with haste.
"We would appreciate it if you could prepare a fruit platter for us. Some waterand a bottle of wine for Ava—you drink, right?"
"Yes I do-"
"Perfect, and a red wine please, a Shiraz!"
The maid exited in a hurry. Tiffany looked at me and I awaited her closire.
Shortly thereafter, Carla entered the room with a substantial tray of wine, water, and fruit, as we remained in silence. After placing the contents on the glass table, she hissed at Tiffany, "He's gone!"
"Oh, thank goodness!" Tiffany quickly drank from the glass of wine, which was a rich red color and she slammed it right back down on the table, requesting, "May we have another?" As Carla hurried to retrieve another, she requested, "Please, just take the entire bottle."
"Isn't it harmful to the child?" I queried in a gentle manner, avoiding any potential offense.
"The child is half fucking wolf. It can handle a few glasses of wine."
I abruptly shifted the topic. "So, please tell me what was so important."
Tiffany awaited Carla's departure before telling me, "I have something that may be of assistance."
"What is it?"
She reached into her bra and extracted a small sphere that was connected to a necklace. On opening the pendant, she discovered a miniature airplane-shaped earring.
"When I was a young girl, my father gave me this. He was a pilot. I was unable to find the other one."
I managed to resist the urge to lower my jaw. "Tiffany, is this silver?" I murmured, with my eyes wide open, gazing at her.
Tears receded from her eyes.
"Certainly. Silver, one hundred percent. I retained it for emergencies. Luke can never know."
"Certainly not. Never would I disclose this information to him. Are you certain about this?"
"Where else are tou going to obtain silver? All I request is that you disclose your entire plan. I deserve to know; so, don't leave anything out."
I gulped. I felt like i could trust Tiffany, and as a result, I disclosed all of the information we had developed thus far.
"Kill Damon, and get added to the council, take back the decision to kill humans, and instead work with the wolves to kill all vampires," Tiffany stated.
"Indeed, precisely. Damon's objective is to sever the vampire's blood supply by eliminating all the humans. No humans means that vampires will starve to death."
"How are you so certain that the wolves will not harm you for killing their alpha is the question. Also, how would you assist them in eliminating the vampires?"
"I observed that it is their custom. The position is claimed by the person who kills their alpha. I'm sure that neither Evan nor I will be elevated to the position of alpha. I will, however, secure a position on the council. The alpha would likely to be Luke, and he appears to be considerably more lenient than Damon."
"You are not familiar with him well enough," Tiffany joked. "I have witnessed him do things that are sure to make your blood run cold."
At that moment, I lost all doubt.
"And the vampires?" she continued," how do you plan on killing the vampires?"
I exhaled, "I have not yet reached that point."
"I have an idea."
To indicate that I was attentive, I sat up. After consuming a sip of her wine, she commenced.
"Vampires are unable to consume werewolf blood; it is toxic to them and has the potential to cause sickness for days, if not months. It may even result in their death."
"So?"
"So, a single drop of werewolf DNA is sufficient to infect a complete human body. We can inject all humans and render our blood lethal to all vampires if we can persuade the council to administer samples of their saliva or blood. "
"Wouldn't the wolf DNA turn us into them?"
"That is not the case." There is no way to transform into a wolf; one must be born with the ability to do so. The DNA will modify our blood, but it will not perform any other functions."
"It's a good idea, but how do we get them to go for this?"
"They require our help. The wolves are aware that the most formidable breed, in addition to a completely mature vampire, is a human-wolf hybrid, even when the vampires are absent. They'll have to go for it."
"I will inform Evan of all of this, and we will see what he says." I replied. Inquiring about her knowledge, I inquired, "How did you acquire this information?"
"I was frightened of Luke when I was first brought here, as I would listen in on all of their meetings when Damon's father was the alpha. I was in the cell for several days after he caught me."
Once more, Carla hurried in. "Mrs. Ava, your driver is here."
The silver was hid in my pocket. I recalled the medication that the doctor had given me. I wrapped it in the paper and gave it to Tiffany.
She enquired, "What is this?"
"Open it when you're alone."
I proceeded to follow Carla outside, fully aware of Tiffany's inquisitive gaze over my shoulder.
