Chapter 21

It has been a month since the death of tariq who was buried according to the rights of islam.

I stood on the stairs of the hostel, breathing in its air for the last time. My next stop was going to be Dubai. My dad has decided that I leave PHU for good.

The thought of sufy still lingeres in my mind, I don't know what to do. I asked my dad to find out where he was and my dad was told that he was released which baffled me. He was released but he didn't come to look for me which was weird for a person who took a murder blame for me.

"Did you pack everything?" my dad said as soon as I stood before him with my bags. "Yeah I did" I responded. "Has saafa Arrived?" I asked my dad while taking a seat at the back of his generation Mercedes Benz along with him. Saafa had traveled to Sudan to stay with her aunty, she needed space from all that had happened in her life. I actually don't blame her, her dad was killed by her own cousin.

"Yes. Aunty maimona called and told me she is asleep" my dad said while scrolling through his phone.

"Alhamdudilah for that" I laid my head on the chair handle. My brain felt heavy and I needed to ease it.

"Heza there's something that came up. Sufyan has been approved bail and presently he is out of jail, I was called by S turaki and he told me that his father got him shifted to another prison In Adamawa so as to enable him save his son" my dad said and a smile immediately graced my lips.

"Did S turaki tell you where he is?" I asked.

"No, the only thing he knows is that sufyan might not even be in Nigeria right now" My dad said.

"Then where might he be?" I said to no one in particular while holding unto my hand.

"Heza do you like him?" My dad questioned. "Kunle drive na!. what are you waiting for!?" My father shut a glare at kunle who immediately ignited the vehicle and began driving into the busy streets.

"Yes dad. He saved me from going to jail" I said and my dad nodded. I really do like him, he saved my life, he saved me from going to jail. He donated his blood to me, how can I hate a soul as his?.

"I understand. If Allah wants you guys to come together you surely will. There is nothing the creator cannot do" my dad said and I nodded.

"Indeed dad, I pray I find him" I said and my dad smiled while placing his hand on mine.

Climbing up the stairs of the Airplane, I looked down in hope of seeing sufy. My heart is aching. I seriously wish I could see him right now before I leave for good, what if something is wrong with him, where could he be?, I pray he is safe where ever he is.

"Lady please hury up, we're waiting" A man said and I immediately began climbing up the stairs in a quick pace. I sat on my designated sit along with a young man who threw a beautiful smile at me.

"Hey" he greeted. he had an Arab accent, he looked Arab.

"Hello" I responded.

"You are a Nigerian right?" He asked and I nodded.

"Nice" he said while leaning his head on the chair.

We talked on little things like the SARS protest going on. It is sad to see Nigerians being killed, may God Almighty help us. The flight to UAE was a peaceful one, I was happy to see people having fun with their parents, love ones, and kids.

At arriving at UAE, I made a call to my dad who was so happy to know that I had arrived safely. The place looked the same, the last time I came to UAE was when my mum had died. I needed space so my dad brought me here to stay with his best female friend.

"Where's your stop?" Anwar asked. Anwar is the guy I sat with in the plane. We clicked well.

"Emirates university" I said and a smile immediately graced his lips.

"What are you studying?" He asked. Great enthusiasm in his voice.

"Medicine" I responded cheerfully while dragging my suitcase.

"That is amazing. I school at Emirates university too" he said and I placed my hand over my mouth.

"Wow... That is amazing" I said "are you new there?" I asked.

"No, I'm your senior" he said and I chuckled while picking the call that came through my phone.

"Hello dad, Okay" I said. The driver was here to pick me up.

"Common let's go Anwar, my driver is here" I said.

"Yayyy free ride" he said happily.

"You are funny" I said and he smiled while dragging his suitcase and mine. Dubai what do you have to offer, please be good to me!.

"That way" Anwar said when he saw me going the wrong way. I walked behind him.

"Hey, Don't worry yourself. I've got a ride back home already, yes its a new friend" he said with his cellphone placed to his ear.

"Come let's go" I said while waving at my dad's driver who sat gracefully In the blue generation BMW.

Anwar walked towards me with his phone still glued to his ear. "Whatever, mum will cook for me" he said before hanging up the call.

"He is so annoying" he said to no one In particular as the driver helped us put our suitcase in the boot of the car.

After that, we entered into the car and the driver ignited it and drove away.

"Is this your first time in UAE?" He asked and I nodded in the negative.

"Nah, I came here five years ago" I said while looking out the window.

"Wow, then I probably don't need to give you a tour" he said and I laughed.

"Yeah, you don't need to" I said.

We talked and talked, even the driver joined in in our conversation and it was fun to talk to them. I felt a little relived.
