Chapter 32
I laid my head on the bed where Jamal laid. My son was asleep and so was suffy who was put In the same room as Jamal. I felt a little bit relived knowing that we were finally safe and out of danger.
"Mum" I heard my sons voice and rosed my head up to meet my sons eyes. "Jamal" I began to cry.
"Mum is this really you?" He asked and I chuckled in tears. "Of course, I'm the one my love" I said.
"Where are the bad uncles?" He asked.
"They all gone" I assured him and my poor son smiled at me.
"I missed you mum" He pecked my cheeks.
"Didn't you miss Daddy as well?" I heard Sufy ask.
"Of course" He said. Sufy got up and walked over to us. He hugged his son tightly and pecked his cheeks.
"It's all over now my son" He said.
"Mumy, one uncle actually said you were his sister" He said to me and I Began to shed more tears.
"No, I have no brother" I closed my eyes and uttered those words. I could feel my heart hurt as I thought about Tariq. Truly he was finally dead and I couldn't help but feel at peace knowing he is gone forever.
"Enough Bickering, Can we eat what Your mother has prepared for us from home" I saw Sufys eyes on the Food warmers that sat on the besides table of the hospital. I smiled, knowing he wanted to put a pause to my mood swing and pain.
"Yes mum, those uncles gave me nothing to eat" Jamal pouted and I smiled. My son and my husband are all I need in this world to survive. I dished the food onto a plate and they both began to eat. Sufy for one, smiled at me as he drank the chilled soda in front of him. This family was all I needed to stay Happy forever.
~*~
Two weeks has passed since the dreadful incident and I have been leaving in my fathers house along with Sufy and Jamal. My dad was getting to know Sufy and he even once mentioned that he was glad he had gotten a son again. Those words made me happy as well as brought tears to my eyes. I was happy seeing them so happy together.
"Mum can I go play with Lailah?" Jamal Asked. Lailah is the daughter of saafa. Who lived in my fathers house along with her husband. They lost their house a year ago and father insisted that They both stayed with him.
"Of course my love" I agreed. He ran down the stairs and over to lailahs play room.
I on the other hand headed into Saafa's room where I found her reading the holy Quran. I smiled as I sighted her.
"Asalamualaikum mumy Lailah" I knocked on the door. A smile immediately appeared on her face as soon as she saw me.
"Walaikumusalam Mumy Jamal" She teases. I chuckled and walked. I landed my self on her bed.
"I haven't seen Sufy in a while, where has he been" she asked.
"With his dad" I said.
"Oh that's great news. I'm happy they are finally getting along" Saafa said. She dropped her Quran on the side table and stared at me with a smile.
"You look very beautiful, Time really changes people" She placed her hand on my chin. She looked very emotional as she spoke.
"You also look very beautiful, indeed time is a changer of everyone. And you girl, Lailah. She didn't leave anything untaken from you, she's your exact replica" I said.
"And Jamal, He looks so much like Sufy. Very handsome" she said.
"But he has got my eyes" I chuckled.
"Mumy" Both Jamal and Lailah said in unison. They both walked in hand in hand and sat before us.
"Yes my babies what is it?" I asked.
"Uncle Sufyan is here to take us out. He said you should all get ready" Lailah said.
"But we already are ready" Saafa said. "Lailah where is your daddy?" She asked.
"He has gone to work" She said.
"I thought he had" Saafa scratched her temples.
"Mumy let's go now, Daddy is waiting" Jamal yanked me by the hand. I stood up and so did Saafa.
We all Ambulated downstairs and I saw Sufy laughing along with my dad. They looked happy as they stood together all dressed up.
"Heza" My dad said to me. "Your husband is very funny" Father chuckled. I couldn't help but smile at how happy he was talking to Sufy.
"May we go out?" Sufy asked. While holding onto my hand lightly, his tough felt fragile and calm. I smiled at him genuinely.
"Of course" I uttered. We all Ambulated towards the big Siena which parked outside. I turned to Sufy and laughed before asking "A family Outing?" I said.
"Yep" He said. In the car was his dad, Anwar, his mum and his step sister and brother. I looked at Anwar and watched him wave at me happily. It's been over Six years I've seen him and I couldn't be more happier seeing all of them together.
We all entered into the car and I immediately sat with Anwar. "I wish I could give you a hug but my brother will definitely punch me" Anwar said.
"Of course I'll punch you" He said and we all began to laugh. "When did you guys come?" I asked.
"Yesterday, we wanted all surprising you" He said.
"Indeed you did surprise me, mum I've missed you so much" I held his mother hand.
"Jamal do you remember me?" She asked Jamal and he nodded calmly.
"Grandma from video call" he said. We all watched the road as we passed by. The drive was apparently gonna be long. I turned to Sufy who was seated behind me and whispered "where are we going to?" I asked.
"My fathers farm house, it's outside Abuja" he said.
"That's cool" I mumbled.
"We'll soon be there, I know you are tired" he said.
"Very tired. I'm bored of sitting here" I said. He smiled and held my hand.
"And we're here" he chuckled. I turned to find a beautiful place that looked like an artificial island.
"This is beautiful" I said. He smiled. As soon as we arrived, we all Ambulated out.
"Why didn't you tell us to park our bags?" Saafa said to Sufy.
"Because I bought y'all new clothes" He said.
"Oh" she said.
"Do you know our sizes?" I asked.
"Yeah" He chuckled. "Ok" I simply said. We all Entered into our various rooms and got settled in. After I was done settling in, we all went outside because Sufy had announced a little party.
I got dressed into a blue dress he had gotten me and dabbed a black Veil over my head. As for Jamal, I dressed him up in portable jeans trouser and a black T-shirt. My son looked handsome, he reminded me of Sufy.
We all Ambulated towards the rooftop where candles were lightened and A slow music was playing in the background. I spotted Sufy and Anwar talking happily. I walked over to Saafa and she was wearing a blue dress but it had a different design than mine. "You look good" she complimented me and I smiled.
"So do you" I said to her. She was holding a cup of green wine which she sipped from slowly.
"I will have to leave here earlier" she said.
"Why?" I asked.
"Remember I told you that my husband was building a new house, well they are done with it and the interior designer will be coming over on Tuesday which is tomorrow to check it out" She said.
"Oh my!, Congratulations. That's so fabulous" I said. I hugged her immediately.
"So that means you'll be moving out soon" I said.
"Yeah, I have to" she said. "We've been leaving with dad for over a year now, he has tried for us" she said.
"Are you forgetting you are also his daughter?" I raised my brow.
"Of course I'm his daughter" she said and I smiled.
"What are you women doing here all alone?" Sufy and Anwar asked.
"We are talking about girl stuffs" I said. Sufy rolled his eyes and stared calmly at Saafa.
"You haven't changed a bit" He uttered before turning around and walking away alongside his brother.
"He hasn't also changed a bit. A little bit creepy" She said and we both laughed.
"Yeah" I agreed. We soon decided to join them in their discussion and it was nice getting to spend time with the family.
"When Sufyan was a Kid, his favorite toy was a Gorilla" his mum said as we all stared at the picture of an ape on the shirt Sufy wore.
"I've noticed that too" I heard Jamal say. I began to laugh when I remembered when Jamal asked me a silly questing regarding his father.
"Jamal also asked me once if we were in any way related to gorilla because whenever we visited the zoo his dad will always head there straight" I said.
"He loves gorillas" Anwar added.
"You can't blame him, they are truly one of the most smartest animals on earth" His dad said and they fist bumped. It was great to see both of them getting along.
"Guys enough bickering about Gorillas" His mum finally said.
"Thank you Mum, I'm starving" Anwar said. I chuckled.
"Come I'll help you set the table" I said to Anwar who had already stood on his feet and walked over to the dining table on the room top.
We both began putting the food warmers on the table "I miss those days when we were in the university" I said to Anwar.
"Me too" He said.
"You've really changed Heza" he said and I chucked.
"How is that?" I asked.
"Your voice, your face and even the way you laugh" he said.
"Time changes everything" I said to him.
"But not the way I feel for you" He said. I didn't even know when I mistakenly poured soup on the table. He chuckled.
"But, that's all in the past. And I appreciate everyday that I've loved you. I'm happy that you are my brothers wife" I smiled weakly at him.
"Thank you" I said to him and he smiled. The rest joined us afterwards and we all began to eat. We enjoyed our meal and when we were done we all decided returning to our rooms. I laid on the bed along with Sufy and he clutched me lightly while we spoke.
"I can't tell you how happy I am to be back here" I said.
"Me too. I missed this county" Sufy admitted.
"I have a surprise for you later" he said.
"What is that?" I asked.
"Search for the word surprise in the dictionary" he said and elbowed him lightly. I chuckled when he began to laugh loud.
"Okay I'll wait to see it" I said.
We spent over twenty minutes on the bed before a disturbing cry weakened me. I felt extremely scared as I made out the voice to be saafas. Both Sufy and I ran over to the room to find her crying while cuddling onto lailah.
"What happened?" I asked her.
"My husband was met with a terrible accident" She said. I immediately ran to hug her and she began crying more.
"Let's go and see him Heza, please" She uttered.
"Mum Will Daddy be okay?" Lailah asked.
"Of course he will" I hugged poor lailah and she pouted sadly.
"Okay" She said. "Where is Jamal?" She asked.
"He is in his room" I said to her "Go play with him" I said. She nodded and ran off. Sufy and I decided to take Saafa to the hospital without the knowledge of anyone in the house except Anwar who was standing outside the moment we brought her outside.
"What happened?" He asked.
"Anwar my husband, he got into an accident" she hugged him. I never knew they were even close.
