CHAPTER 12: Killer
**ALICIA**
“What are you doing here, human?” The guy holding the gun spoke. I couldn’t see his face yet I could feel that he’s someone I should be wary of.
My heart was beating so fast and I actually like it because I know that I am still alive when I wasn’t sure when this group of vampires would kill me. I inhaled and exhaled. I am standing in front of the closed door and haven’t gone inside yet it was already suffocating me.
“I am here to talk to Akihiro.” I responded, raising both of my hands. “If you mind putting the gun down.”
“You are no one to order me.” He replied to me. “Unless, it’s the Young Master who will say that I need to spare your life.”
“Perhaps, you might want to call him.” I was getting impatient so I quickly opened the main door. Thankfully, he didn’t fire the gun as I can still see Akihiro sitting at the teacher’s table with a glass of wine in his left hand and his right hand waving.
I sighed with relief when the man behind me walked away. But, still…I am in front of the most dangerous vampires.
“What brings you here, love?” Akihiro looked amused as she stared at me from head to toe. “Fancy seeing you here. You should have brought something—”
I cut him off by throwing to him the paperbag. It didn’t reach him as it stopped in the aisle, but its smell was already enough for them to know that I brought back the cat they just killed.
“I am just wondering if among your powers, you can bring back a dead cat.” I sarcastically told him.
There were ten pair of eyes looking at me, including Akihiro, and perhaps they all think I am crazy to walk to the lion’s dean, but nothing scare me now except being controlled by this vampires like they are the kings and queens.
“Do you really have a death threat?” Leah glared at me, her eyes were glowing red in the dark.
One of the men snapped his fingers and the lamps surrounding the whole room was turned off. Now, all I could see in the dark were their red eyes. It crept me out…but I need to get used to this or else I would probably crawled under the bed.
“Is that the only thing you can say to me, Leah?” I fired back. “I am passed beyond death threat and you cannot scare me.”
I heard murmurs from the other vampires that irritated Leah. When I looked at Akihiro, he’s in his usual mood so I felt relief because I am sure they will not harm me. Maybe, I have to thank Akihiro as he is the only one who can hurt me. If that would make me lucky.
“Well, we can se that considering you bought a dagger in your pocket…and what’s that an arrow in your back?” It was the guy Akihiro called Niko.
“It’s archery.” I told them. “Don’t worry, I don’t plan on using it on you as I know ordinary blades won’t kill you.”
“Then, what is the reason you are here?” It was Hades, day class students knew him as Akihiro’s best friend. “Don’t tell me you are here for the cat?”
“One reason…” I replied. “Another one is I need to talk to Akihiro about our script. He didn’t come to our meeting so I figured I paid him a visit.” I turned to Akihiro and he laughed. I am not sure if he’s mocking me.
“I was trying to see if you would miss me, figured out, you are missing me.” He stood up from his seat and walked towards me. “I need to talk to her alone. You can continue your feast.”
“Wait…” I said. “There’s a third one. Are you behind the attack in the nearby town?”
“We don’t owe you an explanation,” Hades responded. “So, I suggest you stop accusing us when you don’t even have proof.”
“Enough with that, Hades. Let me handle her.” Akihiro seriously looked at them. “As planned, you do what you have to do.”
With that, Akihiro pulled me out of the room.
“Let me go!” I said, when we are already walking down the building.
“Are you crazy, Alicia? Where did you get the courage to walk in our room? You are in the night class and you are aware—”
“I am sure they are not going to hurt me.” I seriously told them. “Like you said, you are the only one who can hurt me.”
He sighed as he turned his back on me. He said something I couldn’t understand, then he looked at me again.
“Indeed, I am the only one who can hurt you. Yet, it doesn’t mean no one can. There are vampires out there who cannot control their lust especially if you start to bleed, so please can you for once think of yourself?” He was a bit mad…and frustrated…or was he concern?
“Bleed? So, it’s my fault…you can control—”
“Your blood is fucking special, Alicia. Don’t you get it?” He creased his brow as he looked at me.
“What?” I blinked. “What do you mean by that?”
Akihiro deeply sighed. “I don’t know how to explain, but you’re blood is rare and special that if you bleed, all vampires will lose control and they will attack you immediately.” He explained. “Maybe it also has something to do with how you weren’t affected by our compelling powers. There’s a lot you need to know about us, Alicia. So, you cannot just act strong towards vampires because you don’t know us!”
“No, Akihiro.” I shook my head. “I am not acting strong. I have to be strong because if not…I would probably be controlled by you and I am not going to let it happen. Either way, I’ll die.”
“Let me protect you, then. Stay with me and—”
I faked a laugh. “How can a vampire protect me from his own kind? Are you going to betray them to protect me? I doubt you can do that.” I eyed him. “I came here saying that I am taking note of your warning for my family. I will shut my mouth if you and your group promise me that no more killing!”
“We aren’t killing anyone, Alicia. It’s not us.” He said seriously.
“Then, you have a long way to go to prove you aren’t the reason for all those killings.”
“What do you want me to do to prove it?”
I stared at him, and I knew I should not be dealing with vampires, yet I said, “Find me the killer!”
