CHAPTER 28: Lucid

“Akihiro, let me go.” I whispered to him, stopping myself from biting him while he was hugging me but I realized that it might be better so I bit his shoulder but I ended up hurting myself.

“Damn!” He immediately said upon checking what happened in my teeth. He started checking it. It was bleeding but his skin is so hard that it hurts. I could feel the pain in my gums and it made me in tears.

“What the hell are you thinking, Alicia? Do you think you are a vampire to bite me?” He said, frustrated. “Did you not even realize that I am not normal?”

“Hey, let me go.” I said, not wanting to actually blush my body cannot just stop from feeling heat because of his touch. “You don’t want to let me go. Do you think you are my boyfriend to hug me?” I fired back, pushing him away from me.

I immediately grabbed the water bottle to drink and hide the fact that I am nervous. My face are warm right now and I’ll bet that I am even blushing. Thank God, the light in the room is dim. I looked the other way and pretended to focus on Ross doing something he would be ashamed of after.

“Can I be your boyfriend?” He said after a long pause.

I hadn’t recovered from what we did earlier and now he’s doing it again. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with Akihiro?

“Is this one of your tricks? I appreciate that you saved me from your grandfather and warned me to pretend I forgot everything so that I will be saved, yet it didn’t mean you can do as you please.” I warned him. “Don’t think you can control me because of that.”

“Don’t forget that you still owed me for saving Ross’ life. You said you are going to let me do whatever I want to do with you if—”

“You didn’t save him. I am even sure that you are not aware my blood can cure it.” I said to him. “You don’t want me to do it at first, right?”

“Because I never seen it in person until you did it. We heard rumors how a rare blood like yours can cure low-life and turned them into normal people. Aside from that, my grandfather will probably kill you or use you it that happens. And, he might be using you starting from now.”

“What am I? What are these rare blood means? Can you explain to me because I am really confused.” I directly asked before I could lose this chance again.

“Rare blood are special type of blood that carries power that can make vampires get power that will make them different from the rest. It can be use by pureblood, but it would be dangerous if half-blood will get it. For long, it has been the conflict between pureblood and half-bloods are they wanted to be equal to purebloods they ended up killing those with rare blood to attain powers. Thus, making your kinds extinct.”

I blinked. I didn’t even know I was that special. “And, the half-bloods knew about me? What are they?”

“Purebloods came from the ancient vampire, people call him Dracula like in the movies, but it’s not really him. He is the first vampire who created 10 vampires to be with him. These vampires are the clan of pureblood vampires, the only one who can turn humans into vampires.” He explained to me. I still cannot believe that these things I just watched in movies are real.

“Those vampires that they have turned…and married humans or sired with them, they created half-bloods. Although, normal vampires created by purebloods are also called half-bloods.” He added. “So, in order for them to get powers because they are normal vampires that can be killed by pulling their heart outs and burning them, they collected all rare bloods and used it.”

“Then?” I raised my brow. “What happened? Did they wage war on you, pureblood vampires?” I mocked the word pureblood.

“Purebloods are different. Remember that, Alicia. Purebloods cannot sired or be with humans because it would end their bloodline. They need to be pure…”

I smirked, although there’s a bit disappointment in my face when I said, “You are no longer pure one if you insists on liking me.”

“I can work on that.” He grinned. “After all, you are a special blood.”

“Where did I come from? Did you check my family if they are also rare blood?”

“You are the only rare blood in this town…perhaps in this lifetime. Rare bloods are from the bloodline of witches. They usually put curse or spell in their blood to either help or kill vampires. As for your blood, I think it was meant to heal vampires.” He said. “I won’t be finish if I explain everything to you.” He sighed.

“Our world is a lot complicated than you ever think it was. There’s a lot of rules and exception. And, not what you see is real.” He looked at me. “Purebloods has a lot of powers and we can control all elements if we will practice it. And, each one of us has special gifts.”

“Can you read minds?” I said, and was a bit tensed because I don’t want people to read what’s inside my mind. Isn’t that a privacy?

“Don’t worry, it’s a myth.” He smiled at me. “We cannot read minds, but we can compel people so we can know what they are thinking and be able to control them.” He explained. “I heard from Niko that I am your deepest desire as of the moment.”

I blushed. Ugh, why didn’t I even say that?

“And, you believe it?” I pretended tough. “Just so you know, I am pretending to have lost my memories, so come on!” I scoffed. “That’s the first thing that–”

I didn’t continue it when I saw him smiling. “Maybe we can say that to see me is your deepest desire.”

“Fine! It is! But, now that I saw you and asked what I want to know…then not anymore.” I crossed my arms and looked at the studio. It’s a different person again…and I recognized it to be his cousin when I saw him staring at us like he knew we were there.

I immediately felt scared because he might heard us.

“Oh, no.” I covered my mouth. He is a vampire so his senses are better than anyone else's. “Did he hear us?”

“Do you know what my special gift is as a vampire?” He leaned closer to me and whispered. “I can appear in anyone’s dream as much as I want to.”
