CHAPTER 6: Scream
**AKIHIRO**
“Should I kill her?” Leah directly asked while looking down at Alicia from where we are standing. Alicia was surrounded by her blockmates as they were playing balls.
“Leah, what are you trying to do?” I immediately looked around to check if there were any vampires out there. “Are you trying to disobey my orders? I said no one will harm her!” I closed my fist as I glared at her.
She faced me. “Is that only because of her blood or because you have feelings for her?”
“Her blood is special, if she bleeds, you know what will happen. You will attract all vampires and there will be chaos. This university is built to maintain the peace between vampires and humans!” I reasoned out
I turned down and didn’t let go of Alicia from my sight.
“Is that really the reason? You don’t care for her?” She asked again.
“Of course, I don’t!” I lied.
“Then, maybe you won’t care if I do this…” Leah flickered her fingers and in an instant the ball hit Alicia’s face and she’s now on the ground.
“Oh, that’s too—-ah, Akihiro—” Leah hit my hand as I strangled her. “I…can’t…breathe…”
“Well, you won’t continue to breathe if you do that to her again!” I showed her my red eyes. “Don’t forget that I am higher than you…and if you disobey my order again. You will lose your heart!”
I let her go and she coughed. “Aki…” She called me. “I am your fiancee. Have you forgotten about that? And, don’t you think you should thank me because I am the only one helping you to hide your feelings for that girl? What if your grandfather knew about this? Do you think—”
“I don’t owe you anything, Leah. Remember that, and if you still want to keep this engagement. You better shut your mouth.” I warned her.
“She knows about us! You might have erased her memories for now, but soon…she’ll know about us. If that happens, then I am afraid it’s your grandfather who will have her heart!”
“That is none of your business, Leah.”
I hid in the bushes to check if Alicia was okay from the hit of the ball. She wasn’t bleeding which sent me relief. I’ll bet there would just be bruises on her beautiful face. Damn that, Leah!
“You should fix your face, Akihiro.” My friend and also a pureblood vampire tapped my shoulder. “It’s evident how you care for her.”
“Hades, can you do me a favor? Make sure to check Alicia and don’t let Leah do something about her.” I told him. “You are the only one I can trust with this knowing I am being guarded 24/7.” I cursed under my breath.
“Akihiro, I can help you. You are my best friend. So, I am telling you this, what do you want to do with her? Do you intend to keep her under your wing? She is a human!”
“She’s a special human. In a hundred years, it’s the first time we knew of someone with that blood.” I explained to him. “I am just protecting her because if evil guys get their hands on her…they will use her for their benefits.”
“Your grandfather might be one of them.” He warned me. I am aware of it so I am trying my best to have Alicia on my side yet I am sure how to get close to her…because we started as enemies…and we still are.
“Can you please stop looking at me? It’s creeping me out!” She said while writing on her paper. “If you want to say something, say it, Akihiro. And, what are you still doing here? Are you watching me finish this fucking script?”
“So, you really don’t remember anything, huh…” I whispered, looking at her with a smile on my face. She didn’t hear it and just continued with her work.
“I am keeping an eye in case you will not do the script. Also, what happened to your face?” I teased her. Sometimes, I get onto her nerves because those are the only few things I know for her to notice me.
“None of your business. Can you please shut up? I am concentrating and I would appreciate it if you would leave me.” She pursed her lips.
I remained in front just to watch her. My stomach is circling again as I fight the urge not to taste her blood. She’s making me insane! For years, I have been fighting this craving.
After an hour, I heard the bell ringing. It’s time for the night class so I stood up. Alicia didn’t bother checking me.
I placed the cream on her side. “Use this for your bruises. I don’t think you want to have our film with that face.”
Hades was standing outside the room. We walked together to the lecture room where my council was composed of ten pureblood vampires from the five living pureblood vampires clan. They were drinking blood when I arrived. Class is just a facade…as we gather every night to discuss our world.
“Shouldn’t we see her as a threat?” Niklaus asked me. “I heard about what happened. Are you sure you erased her memories? She has a special blood.”
“I don’t think erasing her memories is the problem.” Sasha started defending her clan. “Are you telling me that our clan is not trusted when it comes to this? I can erase your existence in an instant!”
“Oh, did you feel offended?” Niklaus fired back. “I wasn’t sure about it but I heard your powers are lacking nowadays.”
“Enough with it.” I said when I saw that Sasha is beginning to use her powers. “We are here to discuss what happened in the nearby town. Are you sure that none of you did it?”
“Are you doubting us?” Simon asked. “Should we ask you the same thing?”
“I am just asking to clarify things because if the older council proves that it’s from us, then they might send the vultures. You know it will be a mess as we are trying to unite all purebloods.” I said, explaining to them what my father wanted.
“Your grandfather might be the King of the Pureblood Vampires, but he cannot please everyone, Akihiro.” Nikolo told me. “The three remaining pureblood vampires will not unite with us five pureblood vampires.”
I sighed. “Then, one of those might be the reason for that sudden attack.”
I picked up the glass of blood and looked around the huge room, realizing something. “Where is Leah?”
“Oh, missing your fiancee?” They teased us.
I stood and stared at Hades who nodded at me. I looked at the window where the moon was hiding. It was very dark outside…and there was not even a single trace of wind. My mind started overthinking when I realized that Alicia is still out there.
I must have been too late when I heard her scream…
