CHAPTER 29: Fall
**ALICIA**
“Hey, Alicia!”
Ross knocked my head with a notebook, finally waking me up. I looked around. I am inside the booth for the audition but Akihiro is no longer beside me. It seems the audition also ended.
“Are you really sleeping? Come on, what kind of vice president are you when you are not even watching the auditionee. Did you just watch mine or are you being biased?” He scolded me while I was still weary from sleep.
“What are you doing here? Where’s Akihiro?” I asked him, while checking the other booth, if he was there. “How long have I been sleeping?”
“Akihiro left about five minutes ago. And, he told me to wake you up as you’ve been sleeping for an hour.” He scoffed. “Ah, I cannot believe he let you just sleep. You didn’t even watch me. I expect you to accept me in the club! I am even better than his cousin.”
“His cousin performed? How was it?” I said, going out of the booth and walking inside to check the recorded performances. Stephanie and the rest of the team members were inside to check the audition.
“Did Akihiro choose the members already?” I asked them and it was great timing as they were watching his cousin perform.
“Oh, my gosh! He is really great at acting! It even looks like a real wound when he bit his finger with his fangs. How did he hide his fangs real fast and control the bleeding?” Maki was amazed by the tricks Andrei had pulled in front of them even if they only knew.
“Alicia, I think he is fit for the role. We can have him in the play.” Stephanie said. “Plus, he is handsome so a lot of people would surely watch our film. You know that we needed more for our funds, right? So, I suggest we make him part of our club.”
“What did Akihiro say about it?” I said, still watching it. I cannot believe he bit his wrist for that audition.
Okay, Alicia…pretend that you didn’t see a thing.
“He said that the decision would be with you.” They said, giving me the papers. “These are the papers with his comment.”
I nodded. “Thank you. You can now prepare for the schedule of the film. We need two teams for that. But, for the film, the cast will be us, the old members. And, the play would be the new members so both will get the spotlight.” I explained.
Just then, Ross interrupted. “You might want to include me in that.” He winked at the girls.
I pulled him before he could use his charms on them. As much as possible, I don’t want him to join because he will be surrounded by a lot of vampires. But, I needed concrete reasons why they cannot be on the team.
“Let’s go. Non-members aren’t allowed here.”
We were already walking towards the entrance of the hallway when I saw a familiar figure standing outside the building. He was surrounded by some people…and as I walked closely I realized that it was my father…and the governor.
I gulped…trying my best not to panic in order for the governor not to see through me. Damn! What is he doing of all places?
“What’s happening?” Ross said, and the students started to gather, perhaps amazed that they are seeing the governor. “Why is the governor here in our university?”
“Dad!” I called him and walked to him, bowing my head to the governor before facing my father again. “What are you doing here?”
“Alicia, you are here.” My father pointed me at the governor. “Governor, you might have heard of her, yet a formal introduction is still needed. This is my daughter, Alicia Reed.”
I immediately stared at his eyes and relieved my tension. I need to put all my acting skills in here.
“Hi, Governor, it’s nice to meet you.” I told him with a smile on my face as I shook his hands.
“She’s so lovely. But, did we meet before? I think I already saw you before?”
“Indeed, I am the one you talked to last night when you were checking the university. You even asked me about the incident with my father. Have you forgotten me that easily?” I sounded hurt and he chuckled.
“You have a good memory. I’m sorry. I think I am already getting old.” He joked, looking at my father. “She got her eyes from you.”
My father smiled. “Her beauty from her mother.”
I blushed a little.
Then, father introduced Ross. Just then, Akihiro arrived and some of the night class created a scene among the day class so they started surrounding us. I heard from their talk that they are looking for some place in the school for the governor’s project.
I could see that he was trying to check if I was aware of him, but his focus suddenly shifted when the director of the school arrived.
“I’ll see you at home, Dad.” I told my father because I don’t want to stay longer in a place where I have to pretend that longer.
Unfortunately, I was stopped when Andrei appeared in front of us, initiating a talk.
“Hey, Alicia. How’s my performance a while ago?” He smiled at me. “Did I impress you? I am looking forward to joining your club.”
“Well, you should wait for the announcement as I am not the only one deciding.” I smiled a bit. “I cannot believe Akihiro had called most of his night class trope to join the club.”
“It’s time that the night class and day class actually join together. Don’t you think so,” he looked at me and from behind where Akihiro was standing.
“Andrei, you should wait for the official results instead of actually bothering my vice president. She has a lot of things to do and grandfather is already calling us.”
“Why aren’t you being grumpy?” Andrei scoffed. “Aren’t you close with her?”
“We’re not close.” I immediately said, turning my head.
Ross puff air whispering, “Come on, do you really hate him that much, huh?”
“Shut up. Go to your baseball practice as I need to go to the faculty to approve our booth for the festival.”
“Okay, I’ll see you later.” He said.
We already separated ways while the rest of the people are still roaming around, looking at the governor. I was already halfway from the building when I heard something drop on the ground and everyone screamed.
