CHAPTER 19: Peel

ALICIA

“What the fuck! Alicia!” Akihiro shouted as I pulled the rope down, making Ross fell on the ground. It happened so fast that I felt hands stopping me, but due to my desire to save Ross, I managed to open his mouth and let him bite me.

“Ouch…” I muttered as I felt his fangs inside me…and blood started dripping.

“Alicia! You!” Akihiro immediately went behind me while Hades held Ross who is now feeding on me. “Fuck! Stop it, Alicia! You are going to die!”

“Let me go! If you stop me from doing this I will never forgive you!” I shouted. Hades was holding Ross in his back while he continued feeding on me. “Ross needs my blood!”

“You stupid! You aren’t thinking! Stop that in an instant or else all the vampires will come to us now!” Hades shouted.

“Then, it’s your job to stop it…and not mine!” I yelled. His fangs are gettin deeper and he’s sipping harder that it was a while ago making me whined in pain.

It was making my head dizzy as he was taking too much of my blood yet I let him continue.

We heard growling outside the house…but I no longer have enough energy to know what’s happening. All I know is that I need to save Ross. Hades let go of Ross and went outside, maybe to check what’s happening.

“Alicia, stop feeding him your blood!” Akihiro shouted. “Stop it or I will grab his heart right now!” Akihiro was already screaming as he was trying to remove my hand from Ross, but he’s not putting much effort. Perhaps, he doesn’t want to hurt me.

“Alicia, I am warning you!” Akihiro said again. “This will kill you and I cannot let that happen so let go or I will kill Ross!” He warned me, but I didn’t listen to him.

“Let him…” I said, but I am slowly losing myself. I could feel my head spinning and my whole body weakens. My eyes were blurry but I can see that the dark circles in Ross’ face slowly fading away.

“It’s working…” I smiled a bit. “The dark circles are gone now.”

“It is working because he is fucking turning into a vampire!” Akihiro kicked Ross in his stomach, making him stop from biting me. “I said let go of him!” Akihiro’s eyes glowed in the dark. “Alicia, why…why are you doing this? You are making me worry…”

I heard him say yet I don’t have any power to understand everything as my head is dizzy. My arms are numb right now and I couldn’t feel a thing.

“No…” I protested when he carried me. “Ross, needs me…” I replied. “I am not yet done—-”

Darkness filled my whole senses.

“Uh…” I moved my head sideways as I roleld over. I felt the warmth of the bed…as I tried to reach for my phone, but it was a hand that I touched.

I instantly woke up and screamed. “Aaaaah!”

“Hey…” I heard a voice. I turned to my left as my eyes adjusted from the light. My head is still spinning. But…wait…that voice?

“Ross?” I blinked. “Oh, my gosh! Ross, what are you doing in here?” I started panicking as I checked on him. However, he stopped me by pinning me on the bed.

“Alicia, what’s happening to you? I should be the one asking you that? What happened to you? Aren’t you eating enough vegetables and drinking medicine that you fell on the ground?” He smirked. “How are you going to play any sports when you are weak?”

I was confused. “What do you mean by that? I fell on the ground? Wait…no, I mean…what are you? What happened to you? Aren’t you sick?”

I grabbed his hand but the bite was no longer there. Ross was confused when I pulled his sleeves. There were no dark lines. I forcefully opened his mouth. He’s back to normal.

“Ya! Alicia! Did you knock your head on something?” He scowled. “Or are you raping me? Come on, why are you checking me when you should be worry of yourself? The doctor said you lack of blood that is why you collapsed.”

I rolled my eyes. “It’s because of you, idiot!”

“What? Why are you blaming me? Am I the one feeding you?” He pinched my cheeks so I screamed, then he laughed. “It seems that you are okay now. You made us worry for nothing. Next time…eat healthy foods.” Ross smiled at me.

I paused, directly looking at him. What happened? I don’t remember anything except that I gave him my blood.

“Are you sure you are okay?” I asked him.

“Yes, you’re weird, huh.” He said as he started peeling the apples for me. “Your mother and father is in another town. I already called them and they will come home imemdiately. Your brother went here a while ago and he’s having baseball practice. He told me to just watch you in case you do something again.”

Ross gave me the apple and when I didn’t move, he put it inside my mouth.

“Tss. Eat, okay? Don’t you know that I am skipping class for you!” He clicked his tongue.

I looked around and noticed that it’s late afternoon. I had just slept for half a day yet I felt like I missed a lot of things including what happened to Ross. He doesn’t have any symptoms of being a low-life vampires.

Did my blood cure him or did he turn into a vampire?

Is he pretending? I stared at him again. He’s focused on peeling the apples. He seems normal and in his usual self, but I cannot just stay still not knowing what truly happened.

“Have you seen Akihiro?”

“Huh?” He creased his brow, looking at me intently. “It seems like you’ve been spending a lot of your time with Akihiro. You are now even looking for him. Seriously, do you like him now?”

“Of course not!” I quickly replied. “It’s just I need to submit something to him. It’s about our script.” I lied. Ross looked like he accepted my reason.

“Uh, I haven’t seen him. Does he usually appear in your club—oh, fuck! I cut my finger!” Ross reacted as his fingers started bleeding

I immediately focused on his eyes and body reaction…until he sipped the blood.
