Chapter 15 I am your blade
I was escorted back to my room by the guards. Honestly, this relationship between the king and queen of Egypt was more complex than I had imagined.
I no longer wished to continue playing this game of time travel. I would rather die in the desert. Unfortunately, things didn't go as I wanted. I took out the long-sealed box, which contained a dagger.
Someone knocks on my door. A young boy's head peeks in.
"Ankhesen, what happened today?"
"Nothing."
Children shouldn't know about adult matters. Aten pouts his lips:
"Then, Ankhesen...are you getting married?"
"Don't worry, and I won't."
"Ah?" He pauses, unable to hide the smile at the corner of his mouth, "That's good then."
That day, I purposely kept the young boy with me and chatted for a long time.
The boy told me, "Ankhesen, don't worry."
"When tomorrow's sun shines upon you, everything you hope for will come true."
"Aten, you are still..." I couldn't finish the "too naive." part.
Gazing at the young boy's sparkling emerald eyes, I didn't say it out loud, afraid of extinguishing his innocence.
Finally, the tired young boy rested his head on my shoulder. He cuddled up closely beside me in a hugging pillow-like position and fell asleep. I quietly moved him aside, sat at the stone table, and gently opened a box, taking out a dagger. There was a gaze from behind, peering at me. A familiar feeling washed over me in that moment of being locked in. Dizzy and disoriented, I collapsed onto the stone table.
"Trust me, I will help you accomplish whatever you want. I am your blade!"
When I lost consciousness, I saw the young boy's round eyes.
Desire and resentment.
The same eyes I once saw when I traveled through time.
