Auror
I stayed quiet until they finished their conversation. During this time, Black arrived with the materials to fix the broken doors.
“I think it’s perfect now,” he said as he began packing up the tools.
“Yes, I think Ann won’t remember what happened days ago,” I replied.
“That smell is from Dr. Emmyllia?” Arow asked.
“Yes, she arrived late this afternoon.”
“Does she know about you? About us?” Black asked, and I noticed Arow’s gaze shift.
“She knows. For my mate, Emmyllia is her only family, so she becomes family as well.”
“Auror, she’s human. You’ve never liked them,” Black pointed out.
“Yes, but many things have changed. We’ve always known what humans are capable of doing, and because they don’t believe they can coexist with us peacefully, many of us were hunted. I haven’t forgotten our history, but Ann’s friend is different. She’s like Ann.”
“Does that mean she can be involved with one of us?” Arow asked, and I met his gaze, making him feel the power I emanated. I saw him shrink back.
“If any of you are her mate, yes. Otherwise, keep your members away from her. If she gets hurt, Ann gets hurt, and if my mate suffers, the cause of her suffering will have to settle things with me.” Arow swallowed hard.
“We understand,” Black said, though his look was still one of disbelief.
“Certainly, Anira has changed a lot around here, and I’m not just talking about our city.”
“Both of you, out!” I ordered. Black smiled wryly while Arow tensed even more. “Arow, I haven’t forgotten your punishment. I could isolate you at the borders, but that would upset Ann. I want you patrolling every weekend and here every Monday through Friday mornings for the breakfast she makes for us.”
“Yes, sir.”
“Now get out!”
Once they left, I went to the living room, pacing back and forth, wondering what Ann and Emmyllia were discussing. I noticed that Ann’s mind door was open but chose not to intrude, giving her space and privacy, though I would find out everything later.
Soon, the door opened, and they walked out.
“— I saw that the doors were fixed,” Ann said as she approached me.
“— Yes, Black and Arow just left,” I replied. Emmyllia’s expression changed when I mentioned Arow’s name.
“— Well, I think we can finally introduce ourselves properly,” she said. “I’m Emmyllia Bouchard.” She extended her hand to me, and I shook it.
Emmyllia is finally becoming the person my Ann knows. I can read her thoughts, and after dinner, she decides to go to her place. She is staying in the same cabin that Ann was housed in when she first arrived here, and Dr. Beilly is in the cabin next door.

Anira
The days passed, and although I am working on the inside, there is still much to be done. However, the hours are flexible, and I get to be with Auror much more, which calms him. I’ve started accompanying him at the bonfires and whenever he’s handling matters related to Forty Mile, I’m with the women assisting with their needs and demands.
I begin to move to get out of bed when I discover that I’m not awake alone.
“I thought you’d stay in bed longer,” Auror’s deep voice sends shivers down my spine.
“It’s not a bad idea,” I snuggle closer to his chest. “I’ve noticed you’ve been sleeping less, or almost not at all lately. Is there something I should be worried about?”
“No, but I’m a bit restless. I can’t sleep without knowing who sent that male férnus to get you wrapped in ancient magic,” he says with a sigh, feeling tense.
“You don’t need to worry. I’m safe by your side. And you’ve tripled the security of the house. I go out very little on my own, and when I’m at work, Arow is with me. I’ve understood that he’s like a bodyguard.” I connect with him through our bond, fearing that I often don’t understand the reasons for his fears.
“I know you understand how important your protection is to me. You can feel my fears just as I can feel yours. It’s like a snowball at the start of spring—no matter how much we hold it, the warmth pulls it away from us. I can’t lose you, not after centuries of being alone, believing I would wander for eternity without ever meeting someone.”
“Auror, we are forever. I trust what the anciã said. I trust that we will have our baby in the next mating cycle. Please, don’t torment yourself over something that won’t happen.”
“Timelines can change, Ann. Something might come up. Something bad might reach you.”
I sit on his lap and look into his eyes.
“Look at me, look into my eyes,” I say, and he does. “No one will take me away from you. First, because I would never allow anything to happen to me without a fight, and second, because I would never accept it without a fight.”
“It’s exciting to feel the warmth of your pussy,” his concerned voice turns husky.
“I feel just how exciting it is.” His hands slide down my body to my breasts. Auror likes to mount me like the férnus do, and it excites me almost to the brink of madness. But after our bond is complete, many times he wants to mate like humans do.
“You know, Ann, we’ve satisfied ourselves in every way we could imagine.”
“Yes, I know.” I throw my head back, lost in his touch.
“But we’ve never done it standing up. I saw that in your mind. I saw how much pleasure a human female can experience like this.”
“Auror…” I moan softly, grinding against his warm and wet member, full of desire.
“Do you like how it slides as you rub against it, releasing my pleasure?”
“Auror!” I cry out as he accesses my mind, and the arousal intensifies as we share the intensity of what we’re feeling.
“Yes, Ann, I’m here. What do you want me to do?”
I think of his hands on my waist as he helps me slide along his large, thick length, feeling the ridges of his veins massage my clitoris. He does exactly as I imagine.
His growls and grunts are low and restrained. I know he’s holding back, always prioritizing my pleasure first. This is how my body prepares to receive him, how I can accommodate him, only after the first orgasm.
“Your scent, Ann, is like a drug I yearn to use all the time. My tongue never forgets it. I would live inside you.” A loud growl echoes through the room as he holds back his orgasm.
“Auror, I… fuck.” My body can’t handle the heat and friction of our sexes. I convulse in my first orgasm.
The roar he releases seems to prolong my pleasure as it makes me shiver. In a quick movement, we stand up, and Auror leads me to the large window, opening it. It’s still dark, but in minutes, the sun will begin to light up the day. The cold on my body makes me shiver, but his warmth behind me comforts me.
“Hold on here.” He places my hands on the narrow sides of the large window. “Stick out your ass.”
“Auror.”
“Come on, Ann, I saw this desire of yours. I just want to fulfill it.”
