36 : Deadly Sins

**Evelyn :**

Leaving me alone to get ready for the party that was going to be held tonight at Deadly Sins nightclub, I had no choice but to join as I knew Raphael couldn't go alone without any help.

Fighting a common enemy, it takes several hands of help to finally stop him and I didn't even want to imagine what would happen if I lost my Phoenix.

I let out a startled sound after seeing a beautiful shimmering red dress on the edge of the bed in the bedroom laying in a silver box. Silver high heels with diamonds and even red underwear that was made of lace material.

Squealing quietly, from excitement or shock, I didn't even know, I saw there was also a silver handbag and against the wall was a table with a large mirror, and soft chair before it. There were all kinds of makeup products and jewellery on the table. It was all mind blowing because I knew there was nothing like this before in the room I slept all the time.

Realizing that it was all for me, I sighed heavily.

*How much have you spent on money Raphael, just for me to go out in public?*

Accepting the fact as such, I wasted no time and went to the bathroom to take a shower before putting on that beautiful dress.

Once I had thoroughly scrubbed all the areas until the skin was already red and shaved off every possible body hair, I got out of the bath and dried myself off on one of the soft towels that were already hanging up on the dryer. After drying my hair, I went back to my room so I could finally start getting ready.

At least less than an hour had passed when I put on my lipstick and looked at my reflection. I paused for a moment to look at my appearance.

To be honest? I was dressed like going to the grand ball, not a night club.

The dress fitted my body like a sock, showing all my hips, the black patterned stockings showed off my slender legs well, the straightened hair that fell over my back gave me a mysterious look, and the eyeshadow made my eyes look at least a hundred percent bigger. The shoes of course made me taller and the whole overall look was surprising new to me. I can't even remember the last time I looked this good.

A knock on the door made me jump and I chuckled awkwardly to myself as I nearly tripped over the soft carpet on the floor.

“Evelyn? You still there? He's getting impatient and if you don’t hurry up, he'll leave without you,'' Luke sang from behind the door.

I had to roll my eyes at that,'' He'll wait, don't worry!''Glancing at myself again, I grabbed my small bag, throwing my phone into it, I was ready to go.

I still hadn't gotten over the fact that Raphael’s uncle had killed his mother, my heart ached because I couldn't imagine what his childhood would have been like without his mom. Of course, he didn't often show his emotions and pain, I could see that they were painful memories, hidden deep in the corner of his mind.

On the way out, Luke froze when he saw me, as usual, but this time it was a pleasant surprise.

''Wow, you look...- He was at a loss for words.

I should have blushed but I laughed my way out of the situation and watched him myself. Phoenix's brother also looked very good, in a light grey suit and it was the first time I had seen him so well-groomed and collected. Even the hair was styled and very clean. Both of the brothers were handsome but Raphael was the one who made me feel like I was in a fairy tale. He was the one who stole my heart from the very begging.

"You're handsome too," I gently hit him on the shoulder and he immediately straightens his back and raises his chin in pride, hearing a compliment from me but before we can take a step towards the stairs, his phone vibrates in his pants pocket, which he immediately pulls out, to see what's there.

Luke frowns but smirks as he looks back at me.

"He is already outside, waiting for us by the cars. Let's go?''

I can only nod as we finally head downstairs and down the hall, out the door. When I see the white car, which has already started warming up, I notice its owner leaning against the side of it and waiting for us with crossed arms.

My breath catches when I see Raphael.

He was dressed in a completely black suit, which was decorated with small diamonds, and the light from the windows gave them a brilliant image. His hair was wet, giving it a messy look and the long hairs that had grown back on the sides fell on his face. On his hand was an expensive silver watch, which gave him an expensive look, he looked like some CEO in a movie.

And those earrings. *Jesus, help me.*

My eyes went to his face and our eyes met seeing a dangerous darkness in those eyes but it only warmed me as I gave him a smile as I walked towards him. When he saw this, he turned his finger to signal me while looking me over from head to toe and back. By that time Luke had gone to his car and it was just the two of us.

When I got closer, I stopped right in front of him and kept smiling. Even though I felt nervous, I waited to see what he would say. After one more look at me, Raphael finally straightened his back to stand up straight, which instantly made me flinch. I had shoes on but they didn't help. Phoenix was much bigger and taller but that intense gaze alone made me squirm in place.

''I'm starting to regret that you're coming with us,'' muttering under his breath, I widen my eyes in shock because I wasn't expecting those words come out of his mouth when he sees me dressed like this.

''Excuse me?''

''This look?’’ Waving his hand in front of me, letting me know he's talking about how I look, I can only blush as Raphael wraps his hand around my neck and gently runs his finger on my pulse,'' I knew you'd look stunning in that dress but I didn't think about...damn you'll attract everyone in the club and no one will take their eyes off you, this is all mine'' growling in anger, I'm pulled much closer until his lips crash into mine.

Before I can grasp the hidden intent and return the kiss, he pulls away and I hear myself breathing hard as I see the hunger in his eyes but not for food. A moment just passes in silence as we look at each other until he smirks.

"What?"

''The effect I have on you, baby. Better get in the car before I ruin your lipstick even more. That mouth is asking for trouble,'' struggling to pull away, we finally step from each other and I can only laugh at the thought of how I look now.

Looks like I'm not the only one who is affected.

**Raphael :**

Walking into an underground club where everyone gives way to me because they know I'll kill anyone who gets in my way, with my girl by my side, I see and hear the party in full swing.

Lights everywhere, loud music and people dancing along to the rhythm of the song. I also see with my own eyes many of my own who hide under human skin but I knew better. Many had no idea of the danger they were in.

I hated such places and avoided the noise as much as I could, so I never went out to have fun. There was simply no time for that.

I felt a delicate body pressing closer to me and I immediately lowered my eyes to my angel. The fact that she was uncomfortable in such an atmosphere was clearly visible and also felt by her body's reaction. Warmth and pride welled up in my chest as I wrapped my arm tighter around her waist.

Leaning close to her ear, I smelled her divine sweet scent before collecting my thoughts,'' I'm with you, love. Everything will be fine.''

Evelyn can only smile with blushing cheeks as she hides her face against my chest. I can't help but smile.

"They're all looking at us, why is that?”

*Huh?*

Looking around, I notice that many eyes are on us now. What did Phoenix bring with him for the first time. Words weren't needed to understand the others' reactions, so after shooting a dark look through the entire club in warning, everyone turned away as they continued their business.

I didn't like many people looking at my girl but recently I realised that I can't complete this mission alone. If I leave her home alone, what's the guarantee that something won't happen while I'm gone? Right now she was safest with me and I wanted to leave it like that for a long time.

‘’Hey, Raphy! I'll go, okay?'' I hear my brother nearby as I turn my eyes towards him. Giving me a sign, I nodded, understanding his intent for leaving.

He's going to scout while Evelyn and I find a quieter spot. First I had to find the organiser of this party but taking my time, I ran my eyes over the entire parameter and, making sure that there was no danger for now, I took my girl along with me to the farthest corner where were soft sofas, in the VIP section.

Everyone knew who I was, so without question we were shown to the seats where Evelyn and I could be alone. She was still nervous, so after ordering the light apple ciders, I made her sit on my lap.

“Raphael! I can't sit in the public like that! What will it look like?'' Evelyn tried to break out of my grip in surprise but I just raise one eyebrow in her direction.

‘’You think I care what others think? Come on,'' putting a small command in my voice, she submits with a heavy sigh at the end and I smile and wrap my arms around her so that she leans against me. Brushing a small strand of hair from her face, I make her look at me.

Her cheeks are already strawberry red as my Evelyn shyly looks at me.

"Don't be too nervous, you have nothing to be shy about in front of me. I won't bite,'' grinning, I gently kiss her cheek.

Little heart just starts to breathe harder and I already know it's hard for her to resist but I ignore it so as not to embarrass her even more.

''Let's sit here for a while, while nothing happens. So far, I don't feel anyone in the club who is like me. Let's have a drink, calm your nerves and wait for Luke so we know what to do next, okay?’’

Evelyn just nods uncertainly and rests her head against my shoulder. Watching her close her eyes, I kiss her head and turn my gaze to the stage where the DJ is entertaining the partygoers. So far, neither my uncle nor the other Phoenix were anywhere, and if I saw either of them, I swore to myself that I would not leave it unfinished.

I'm not going to lose Evelyn a second time. **Not again.**
