Are you here to help

Maxilin's Aside.

Obviously, I came here on my own. My uncle doesn't want me to send that here, even though he does not know I'm coming. I'm not sure what's going on there after seeing my letter.

"Actually, my uncle was a little busy. He didn't have time to write a letter because of this," I replied.

"You? You're Wyiner's nephew, aren't you?" He said. His face lit up when he heard about my uncle's nephew. That small girl was staring at me from behind her father. "Yes," I replied.

"Come in, please. You should have said that earlier," he stated. I tried to smile, but couldn't. I don't know why smiling is so hard for me.

The opposing viewpoint.

Wyiner came into his room and removed his coat and sat down on his bed. He checked something, but then shifted his gaze to his table. He got up and walked over to check something. Wyiner opened a book and grabbed the letter.

But he made a severe look and stormed out of his room, thinking about something.

As he emerged from the fort, Wyiner yelled, "Evan!"

Wyiner rushed up to him and said, "Evan."

"Yes, uncle," Evan said nonchalantly, as if nothing else had happened. "What is this, Evan?" Wiyner said angrily.

"I don't understand, uncle," Evan murmured, his eyes narrowing. Wyiner gritted his teeth and tightened his grip on his arm. Everyone was watching them with bated breath.

Wyiner tightened his grip on Evan's arm as he observed the Knights. "Come with me," Wyiner said as he stormed off to the fort.

Evan asked as they entered the hallway.

"What is it, Uncle?" Evan came up with the question. Wyiner came to a halt and stated, without looking back. "Did you go into my room?" Wyiner asked.

"Your bedroom? Why do I go there?" Evan said, in a startling tone.

"You understand what I'm talking about, Evan? Don't try to be clever," Wyiner said.

Evan's Aside.

Whatever Uncle tries to convince me of, I will not tell him the truth. I'm going to say anything. "Uncle, I'm always here," Evan replied.

"I know you went into my bedroom and touched my stuff," Wyiner said aggressively.

"I think you misunderstood something, uncle. I didn't go to your room. However, I visited your office once. And it was to ask you a question," Evan said.

Wyiner gave a hard look since he realized he didn't have any proof.

Wyiner's Aside.

I know you went to my room and looked for the letter. I'm not sure what to do if you've already informed my brother. I only wanted to keep it a secret, but you've completely wrecked everything. I need to write Alex a letter. I'm not sure if Maxilin has already arrived.

Wyiner frowned and said, "all right. But before you do anything, think of the consequences. Don't make hasty decisions." He walked away, as he stated.

On the other side.

I took a seat in his hallway. It was rather large. But all I see is him, his two servants, and his daughter. Only four animals dwell in this vast house.

"I understand it will be difficult for you to stay with us. My daughter and I are the only ones in the house," said Alex. I gave a little smile but said nothing. I wasn't interested in talking about family matters because my thoughts were somewhere else. That little girl suddenly approached us and sat in a chair. That girl had to be around 6 or 7 years old, yet she appeared to be much more mature. Maybe the situation turned her like this, just as it did for me. That girl had a wide smile on her face as she looked at me.

I shifted my gaze away from her.

Mr. Alex abruptly remarked, "I'll send a message to your uncle to let him know you're safe and sound."

"All right, Mr. Alex," I said.

"You should take a break. Please take a nap. I'm going to make something for dinner now," Mr. Alex said.

"Father," the little girl said as she sprung from her chair, "may I help him by taking him to his room?"

Alex caressed her on the head and said, "sure, honey."

"She's my daughter, Elizabeth," Mr. Alex said as he introduced her to me. I smiled and replied pleasantly, "I'm Maxilin. "

She gave me a friendly smile and took my hand in hers. "Maxilin, come with me," she urged.

Her unexpected move caught me off guard. This girl was afraid of me only a minute ago, and now she's attempting to help me take the room.

"Come here, Maxilin," she said enthusiastically as we walked to the second floor together. She was ecstatic to see me. She led me to a large room. I looked around as soon as I walked into the room. On the other hand, the room is orderly. It seemed they knew someone was about to come. As I took off my hoodie, I took a glance around. I gathered all of my swords and placed them on the table. Elizabeth sat in a comfy chair, staring at Maxilin. She widened her eyes as she saw Maxilin drop all of his swords.

"Maxilin, are these all your swords?" she asked.

"Yes," I responded, as I returned her stare. She smiled as she got out of her chair and walked over to the table, her eyes wide with excitement. With her little hand, she touched my knife.

"Wow, you seem to have an arsenal of weaponry. Are you here to help us?" She asked.

Hearing her, I smirked and said, "Maybe or maybe not."

"What exactly do you mean by that?" she asked. This small kid is already aware that something terrible is here. "Because when I came here, I noticed nothing terrible," I said.

"You didn't see that?" she asked, her expression puzzled. No, I said with a nod. Then I asked, "What about you? Have you ever seen anything?".

She merely nodded and said nothing. I squinted my eyes and asked, "What did you see?"

I was going to open the window when I asked her. Because all the windows were closed.
