I'm not sure where he's going to take me. What happened to my sword? Why isn't it heading my way? But then, out of nowhere, a figure sprang in front of me. That well-armed person first drew his sword and slashed the lengthy hand that had seized me. In my hazy vision, I saw them.
Nuckelavee screamed so loudly this time, but I observed his sliced hand burn in a flash this time. And someone threw something at him. I could only hear that Nuckelavee scream. Everything settled down after a bit. Slowly, I saw that the person with the mask knelt in front of me and peered at me. That person's eyes were visible to me. It reminded me of something I'd seen before. I attempted to go to bed, but I was exhausted. I'm not sure why. When I had a significant demon confrontation, my chest hurt, so why is it hurting now? I gradually closed my eyes.
When I opened my eyes, I was in Alex's house. I narrowed my eyes and took a glance around. I'm not sure what I'm doing here. I used my elbow to prop myself up. It startled me to hear Elizabeth's voice. As she rose from her chair, she muttered, "Maxilin."
I murmured, "Elizabeth."
"Maxilin, what happened to you?" she asked. "How did I end up here?" I said, lowering my gaze. I put my hand on my brow.
"I don't know. I just woke up and found out you're unwell. I warned you not to open the window last night, but you didn't listen," Elizabeth stated.
I rubbed my temples and tried to recall who the masked person was. "Who brought me here?" I thought. However, I was startled by the sound of the sliding door. Mr. Alex walked into the room. He appeared to be pale. "Are you okay, Maxilin?" he asked, a gentle smile on his face. I nodded yes, although my head was still a little heavy. It's as if I had a lot of booze last night.
"Mr. Alex, how did I end up here?" I asked, tapping my brow. Mr. Alex said, "We just found you in front of the door."
"What? Was I alone or was there someone with me?" I asked.
Mr. Alex stated, "No, you were alone."
"Maxilin, are you hurt anywhere?" "I'm sorry, boy, I simply got you into a mess," Mr. Alex apologized.
"Mr. Alex, I went there to check what was going on. But I swear I'll kill him shortly," I said. But then I asked, "Mr. Alex, where is my sword?" in a worried tone. He murmured. "There you have it. It's always been with you."
I swiftly approached the sword to see what was wrong with it. I put my hand on the sword. It was fine, but there was sand all over it.
Mr. Alex abruptly stated, "You should get some rest, Max. I'll have someone bring some food over here." I gave a brief nod but said nothing. "Dad, I want to have my breakfast with Maxilin," Elizabeth stated unexpectedly. I took a glance at her. Mr. Alex responded with a smile, "Maxilin isn't feeling well, honey. We'll eat lunch together."
As Elizabeth looked at me with sympathetic eyes, I smiled at her. I'm not sure how to deal with children. I'm terrible at it. But I'm still perplexed why this kid loves my acquaintance. Mr. Alex grabbed her up and carried her away. I noticed a touch of dissatisfaction on her face.
I sat on the bed with the sword.
