Chapter 20

Ruma stared at Amir with tears in her eyes , she was shocked as to what he said , did he really mean it ? Or was he saying it because he was in this state of health ? .this all seemed supprising to her

"I've loved you for a long time " he said almost out of breath .

" Amir you are not okay , please just stop talking and rest" ruma said holding his hand .

" I love you" he said closing his eyes slowly as he let go of her hand .

"Amir Amir Amir " ruma tapped him on his cheeks but there was no response .

"doctor" she screamed running out to meet mynah and the doctor

" What's wrong? " They all asked her .

"He he , he is unconscious" ruma said dragging the doctor " please come" she said to the doctor.

"Okay dear don't worry" the doctor said as he shouted for three nurses who came running towards Amirs room .

"Mynah is he going to die ? They have to save him , they have to ? Mynah I don't want to lose him" she screamed shaking Mynah as she fell to the ground .

"Ruma get a grip" Mynah said making her stand on her feet " he'll be okay insha Allah " mynah said wiping her tears .

" Ya Allah save him for me , Ya Allah please I can't lose him " she yelled crying bitterly .

" Mynah he was cold , his body was so cold mynah" she said .

" Have hope ruma, hope " Mynah said to her .

"Okay I'll have hope " she said weeping bitterly .

They both sat down in the waiting room ,Amir was being operated on .

"You think we can save him? " the nurse said to the doctor

" I don't know ,this is very complicated ,it seemed that the gun had poison"the doctor said .

"ruma" Amir shouted taking deep deep breaths .

"We are loosing him" the other doctor said .

"Oh no" the nurse said checking his pulses .

" What ?" The doctor asked

" We've lost him" the nurse said in tears , she looked out the window to see ruma still crying bitterly .

"Inform his family" a doctor who has seen many dead corps said in tears , seeing ruma broke his heart ,mostly because he called her name before he gave .

uma sat happily on the chair with the hope of Amir coming out of the ICU safely , she looked towards Mynah and he was sleeping due to the stress, she guessed .

Suddenly she felt slight uneasy at the sight of the doctor coming out of the ICU with a pale face . She got up from where she sat and walked over to him .

"Doctor how's he?" Ruma asked the doctor smiling with tears threatening to fall

"Doctor answer me please,where is he ?" She asked the doctor now panicking as to how the doctor stood before her with no iota of movement.

"He passed away ,he's dead" the doctor said looking down at his feet

" You must be joking" she screamed "stop joking " she said feeling uneasy ,she was running out of breath due to panicking.

No Amir can't be dead , she thought ,she ran towards the Icu and pushes the door open ,the noises had made mynah wake up from sleep . He was startled.

"Leave here ,you're not supposed to be in here" a nurse tried pushing her out

" No let me see him ,don't cover him with that cloth ,i promise he is not dead ,he is alive " ruma screamed trying to push her way in

" Herlin let her in " the senior doctor said and she nodded leaving ruma alone to run towards amir

The senior doctor told the others to leave ruma and amir alone in the room , they all left leaving the two alone

Ruma stared at Amir , picking his hand and placing it in hers

"You said you loved me ?" She asked Amir though his eyes were closed and body cold .

"You said you loved me Amir ,you took the bullet for me ?!" She said placing her head on his chest .

"Amir don't leave me " she cried cuddling him as though he could hold her too

" Please don't go ,why do you want to leave the love of your life ?"

"Why ! " Oh! How she felt like being the one whom the bullet had hit ,she wished he had not saved her ,maybe she would be the one fighting for her life and not him ,how she wished she could go back to the past and take the bullet .

"Amir you'll have to wake up because I love you too " she said , she knew she was having a soft spot for Amir, but she never knew it was love until today .

"I love you too Amir " she said once again shaking him on the bed thinking maybe he would wake up

"Wake up for our love , wake up for me" she said , she was already giving up because he hadn't made any iota of move

"Amir" she called his name once again this time loudly "Allah save him for my sake " she screamed banging Amir on his chest .

" Pimmmmmmmmmmmm" the sound d of the machine next to Amir could be heard by All doctors and nurses who ran into the room
