Chapter 9

Ruma's p.o.v

"Hey girl, wake up. the boss doesn't like lazy workers"She heard a voice of an elderly woman speaking to her, she opened her eyes slowly to find a middle aged woman starring at her with a huge scowl on her face.

"Good Morning aunt"She greeted while cleaning her eyes gently in other to fully awake.

"Morning girl, go take a bath he is waiting" The lady said while putting on her chef uniform.

"I'll be off to the kitchen by the way and there's the toilet, they are some new bathing sponge and tooth brush in the cupboard. you can take some" she said pointing at the bathroom door and she nodded as she stood up to go take her bath, I walked into the toilet which was a very big one it had a bathtub which she stood in and ripped her cloth off and started taking her bath.

She bathed in pace for she knew Amir will definitely make a fuss if she's a minute late.

In no time I was done bathing so I came out in my wrapper, in no time she got dressed into a long gown which Faiza got her, she tied her scarf around her head in form of a turban and she was done in a minute so she walked out in pace.

She walked out of the servants quarters and went into the mansion and walked inn "Ruma!" She heard a voice which she knew was that of  Amir's.

"Yes" She answered as she looked up and there he was, standing and holding onto the railings of the stairs.

"You'll be going along with me to the office" He said walking down the stairs.

"office?" She said and he nodded.

"let's go" he said and she simply followed him into the car. She sat at the front with the driver while he sat at the back "To the office" he said to the driver and he started driving and in no time they were infront of a tall building.

Amir got down from the car so did she, she followed him into the building and they were welcomed by reporter's again but this time Amir's bodyguard's pushed them through.

"Good morning Sir" every one in the office greeted him but he paid no attention, he just walked out on them and went straight to the Elevator along with Ruma.

"Are we using this?" She asked a bit frightened.

"yeah" he said curtly.

"No I'm scared of this thing please, I think I'll take the stairs" She said holding onto the Railings beside the elevator door.

"My office is on the fifteenth floor so I don't think you'll be able to use the stairs, so just come in here" He said while pulling her inn by her arm.

"Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah" She kept muttering Oh God as the elevator began to move.

"you're such a village girl" he said with so much monkey in his voice but she paid no attention, She kept uttering Ya Allah until the door swinged open. They walked out of the elevator door, "Morning sir" a
Short man who is his Personal Assistant welcomed them.

"Tell the secretary to send all the emails to me" he said to the short man who just nodded and was about to walk away but amir stopped him.

"Sam, Tell Jane I've got her an assistant" He said to the man whose name is Sam and he nodded.

"you!, Follow him to where ever he takes you" Amir said pointing at her and she just nodded. Both she and Sam walked into a basement where a young lady was seated and working.


"Jane! Sir said she'll work with you from now own" Sam said to Jane who looked up from what she was doing and passed them a calm smile.

"oh ok" she said to Sam who walked back into the scary transparent elevator.

"girl!, what's your name?" Jane asked her with so much authority in her tone.

"I'm Ruma" She said while looking straight Into Jane's eyes.

"Ruma, You'll be working with me here in this basement where you'll be sorting all the office equipment and you'll be serving people meals during launch hour"

"Including sir?" She asked and she nodded.

"So get your ass here and start working" she said shoving some paper's at me.

"I wonder why I'll be working here ,I prefer house chores" she muttered as she read through the paper before her, her job was to sort printers which weren't working and she's also their waitress.

"so frustrating" She muttered as she banged her hand on the printer before her.

"Jane you forgot those files in my office" A young man who looked in his Early twenties walked inn holding some files in his hands.

"oh I did?, I actually forgot" Jane said collecting the file.

"Yeah that's why I brought them" he said with his attention focused on Ruma.

"Hey I'm Jimmy, you're new here. what's your name?" he said as he took some few step to where she sat.

"I'm Ruma" I said and shrugged.

"Wow Ruma, Nice name" he said passing his left hand to her for a handshake.

how disturbing!, She thought.

But she declined the handshake by giving him a fake smile.

"Jimmy I know what you're up to, let the little girl be please" Jane said to jimmy who rolled his eyes at her.

"Hope I see you soon" he said.

"I hope I see you too" I said with so much  sarcasm in her voice.

"Be careful with him, he is dangerous" Jane said as she sorted the typewriter in the place where typewriters were stacked.

"This group will be sent for recycling" she said to me and I nodded, thank god she is working with female and not a male.
