Chapter 12

The game drive was successful. We got to see most of the animals that they have and even took some good pictures. It was a miracle we saw almost all the animals because most times they are hiding from the sun or predators. We had lunch at Ololo Safari Lodge and farm ,then we went for a nice long walk. By the time we were done, it was evening. Time to head home.

We went to his house which I was seeing for the first time. The house was designed specifically for him ,the interior designer really tried to capture what he wanted. The walls are black with brown doors and cabinets. The couches are dark grey with white pillows. It looks like a man cave. Very beautiful, classy and masculine, perfect for him.

I put my bag in one of the bedrooms and freshened up. We are now heading to Forty Forty for dinner and some drinks. Marcus had already reserved a table for us incase the club is full when we get there.

We get to our table and a waiter takes our order leaving us to talk privately. I really want to bring up the Katelyn topic but I don't know where to start. Maybe it will annoy him but I don't care. I need to put my mind at ease. Even if I will get hurt, its better knowing now than later on when am heavily invested in this relationship.

" Who is Katelyn?" I ask biting my lower lip.

" Where did you hear that name?" He asks harshly instead of answering my question.

" Just answer me and I will tell you where I heard it from"

At this point am very suspicious. His mood changed immediately I mentioned that name. Is it possible that he is still in love with her? Oh my God ,I have fallen for an unavailable man. This realization made me shake to my heels. What am I supposed to do?

" Katelyn is my ex" he whispers ,I almost didn't hear him talk.

" When did you guys break up?"

" A few months ago almost an year now ,it didn't work out between us."

"Okay"

" How do you know about Katelyn?" He asks.

" Your assistant told me about her"

" Shit" he curses.

" She said that your still in love with her and that I shouldn't expect much from you" I say looking away ,I don't want to confirm my worst fears.

His hands form fists and he looks like he wants to hit something or someone really bad. That confirms all the fears I have. When he sees my worried expression ,he calms down a bit.

" Look at me"

Am scared to even look at him. What if I see something I don't like? He takes my hands into his and kisses each finger and palm.

" I didn't want you to know about Katelyn like this. She is my past and I would like to leave her there, in the past. But you are my future, if you'd like it be that is" he sounds sincere.

" What do you mean?"

" I would like you to be my girlfriend Zee. Since the first day that I met you ,I can't stop thinking about you. How beautiful you are ,how you make me feel and I want to keep feeling that all my life"

Shit! I didn't see that coming. I never thought that this conversation will lead to that. Honestly I thought we would end it here. I'm not sure I want to be his girlfriend and at the same time I want to be his girlfriend, you know what I mean. He is so direct ,intense and dominant and he never does what I expect him to do.

I like that. He has treated me with so much respect so far which am glad because if he didn't ,I would have already kicked his ass. I think I should give him a chance. what could be the worst thing that could happen anyway.

" Hey ,am still waiting for an answer love" his voice brings me back to the present.

" I would love to" I say hiding my eyes with my hands .

He removes my hands from my eyes and forces me to look at him. He leans forward and pecks my lips softly.

I feel like my insides are tied in a knot. His lips feel so warm and soft on mine. Maybe I should just grab him and kiss him. This is definitely a first for me. No one has ever made me think or feel this way. The chemistry is there and I can only imagine how explosive it could be when we finally become intimate.

Our food and drinks are served and we dig in. After we are done eating we talk about random things. He has a brother called Jake and a sister called Lily. Both his parents are alive and they have been pushing him to settle down and give them grandbabies.

His brother is coming to visit next month and he would like me to him and show them both around, if I have the time. Of course am nervous meeting his family so I remind myself am a boss lady and I start feeling confident again. Am sure it will be fine, I will be fine.

We dance ,talk and drink till midnight. He was a gentleman all through, making sure I had everything I needed. When it got too late we decided to go home. We took an Uber as it was too late to call his driver to pick us up.
