Chapter 22

Marcus POV

I have never seen anything like this in my entire life. I let Zee rest after what she has been through today ,she deserves it. I never knew period cramps can be this painful and yet when I looked at her I could tell she was in so much pain. She can't be faking that kind of pain.

I wish I can do more than just a back massage. I wish I could take her pain away ,so that she doesn't have to feel it . She was in so much pain for more than two hours. She was sweating, shivering and trembling all at the same time as a result of the excruciating pain.

She didn't shed even a single tear and I wouldn't have blamed her if she did. I would have cried if it were me. She didn't scream even once ,the only way you would know she was in pain is the occasional groaning. She experiences this every single cycle? I believe a cycle is 21 or 28 days and there's no way to turn it off. These women are heroes in my book.

If she didn't have that medication available I would have rented a helicopter to get us back to town. I couldn't have sat there and watched her be in such pain without doing anything. Am not that heartless. Besides I care about this short cute human.

Renting a helicopter won't have been a problem. Am sure its not that expensive maybe 2000-3000 dollars an hour. I can certainly afford that. The problem would have been getting her to go. She's always so uncomfortable every time I spend my money on her with is surprisingly a breathe of fresh air.

Most of the women I have dated couldn't wait to get me to a Gucci or a Chanel store. They always wanted the latest things on the most popular and expensive stores. The latest shoes, heels ,bags and even wigs. It was exhausting. I don't like shopping so I used to give them a card to use. Some of them even maxed out their cards in just one week and some crazy ones in a day.

But Zee has never asked for anything at all. In fact when I buy her something she is always reluctant to take it. The only thing she is comfortable taking is flowers. She loves those. So I made it a point to always bring her a bouquet every time we meet.

She's just different. A good different. After today I respect her even more. She was in a lot pain and all she asked for were her painkillers. I thought she would make a scene and ask me to take her home. Which I could have, not home but to a hospital.

I was prepared for the crying and screaming but it never came. Once she was asleep I took a picture of her painkillers and sent it to one of hotel managers to get more. I want her to be as comfortable as possible and in very little to no pain at all.

I place a kiss on her forehead and head out to let her rest. Getting off our tent, I spot my brother seated on one of the benches outside and I go to join him. Besides I have nothing to do until Zee wakes up. Maybe we can finally talk freely without Zee around, I noticed that he doesn't talk much when she's around.

He was so busy texting to even notice me take a seat next to him. His hands are moving so fast on the keyboard to even make out what he's typing. He looks sad. I hadn't noticed that before. Mostly Jake is really good at keeping his face neutral. You can never know what he is thinking unlike Zee who wears her emotions and thoughts on her sleeves.

"Are you okay?" I break the silence.

" Shit! When did you get here?" He look genuinely surprised.

" Just now. What's wrong?"

" Nothing"

" We promised each other that we will always be honest no matter what. So tell me" I try coaxing him.

" You won't like it" he looks away very nervous.

Jake is never nervous. Something is definitely wrong. What could possibly have him scared?

" Just tell me and I will be the judge of that"

" It's about Zee"

The mention of her name has my heart beating quicker than normal and my palms start sweating. I can sense it won't be something good. What could he possible have to say about zee? We have all been together the whole time so I haven't seen any kind of tension between them. They barely talk.

" What about her?"

" Look man, you won't like it"

" And you prolonging the inevitable will make it better? Just spit it out" I command him

" She kissed me" he says looking at the grass like it was the most interesting thing in the world.

" What?"

" She came onto me and kissed me. She wanted more but I refused her."

I felt like time stopped after those words. She kissed him. My Zee kissed him, that's not possible. She is not that kind of a person. My hands clenched into a fist ready to knock him out for even suggesting it.

" Dude don't punch me. Am not the one on the wrong side here"

" Get out of my face before I knock your teeth out" I growl.

He is hesitant for a minute . He opens his mouth to say something else but the scowl on my face makes him think otherwise.

" Now!!" I shout.

He stands so fast and walks away. She kissed him. This can't be right. She doesn't seem like the type to do that. Or am I wrong? Was she pretending the whole time? Trying to gain my trust. To make me lower my walls and love her only for her to betray me. I knew it. She was too good to be true. She certainly knew how to play innocent the whole time.

Or could it be that my brother is the one who kissed her? No, it can't be, I know my brother he would never do such a thing. It has to be her. I can't believe this. Sometimes when I looked at her, I could see the love in her eyes. I dreaded that one of these days she would tell me that she loves me but clearly she has been faking that too .Is it possible she faked being sick today? Maybe she didn't want me to leave her side and learn about this.

That fucking bitch! She messed with the wrong person. I will show her what happens when you betray me. Am so angry that if I were a cartoon character my ears would release steam.

I will give her the courtesy to wake up on her own and then the interrogation will begin.

Third person's POV

Marcus was too angry and distracted to notice the small smile on his brother's face. If only he knew the truth he wouldn't make the greatest mistake of his life.

Waking quickly from the bench he was sitting on, he walked away in big strides. The anger on his brother's face was evident even when he tried to show that it didn't bother him.

The knowledge that he finally hit a nerve brought a smile on his face. Achieving his goal and making his girlfriend proud made the smile grow bigger making him grin from ear to ear.

Today was a win for him. He deserved a win after every thing he has been through. He deserved everything good, expensive and divine. He felt like he was over the moon and nothing could touch him. Nothing could spoil this good mood he was in.

In his excitement he pulled his phone from his pocket and texted his girlfriend the two words she has been waiting impatiently to hear.
