17 - Think Of Herself
It lowers her to a non-muddy section of the ground. It doesn't want her to walk around barefoot. So what, she doesn't give a damn. She didn't say anything to the young man and just walked away. She sets out to find a house she can ask to call. She can't rely on the Doctor, but she believes Hudson already knows the person in the background who wants to take her life.
She came to a halt and turned to face the young man. She averted her gaze from him. "Doc Hayes," she summoned.
He did not stop moving. "You useless woman, spare my life."
He soothed her. She might forget about this man and shoot him with the gun she was holding. It's too late to call on her. "As you see fit." It's time for them to return to the city; the choice is her! She is no longer concerned. After all, her life is more valuable.
"I already recognize you."
Her heart pounded as he said the last thing. She knew she wasn't deaf because she could hear what he said. She swallowed her fear secretly and pretended to be normal. “Of course! My name is Kianna Trunt," she replied sarcastically, but the truth was that she's nervous.
It made no response. It took another step forward. Her gaze was drawn to the man's back. Was she successful? Is she here to protect it, or is he hurting her? Is everything in order? Is it right for her to obey Yx's command in order to save this man? Was she's right in her decision?
She put her life in danger on two occasions. What was the purpose of her two-year absence? Useless? Yes, she knew that when she was still obsessed with it. The young man was far away, and her entire body went numb at that moment. She closed her eyes and looked up at the sky.
That's it, Yx; I'm finished.
He noticed him going in a different direction. She followed on the right side. She is no longer concerned. She was only walking when she crossed the busy street. She didn't even bother looking for him. Why is she trying to get in here, even though she says she's Kianna now and just a guard? No, that's sufficient. Even if she claims she no longer has or feels love, she does not want to. It has to be buried in obscurity.
When Abhaya paused for a moment and sat on the large chunk of rock, she felt her foot ache. She only saw woods. She was most likely in the jungle or a province. She tapped her necklace and spoke, but no one on the other end of the line answered. She looked at the gun she was holding, deciding that she would only shoot the innocent today. She decided to go for a walk after she had rested. She shrugged her concern, "Where is he going?" It's nice for her to be able to walk alone and think clearly.
“Kienne? If you hear me... It's Yx," Yx voice could be heard through her earrings.
She came to a halt. "Yx!"
"I'm looking for you. Are you with Hudson? Is he all right?"
"Yes..." she exclaimed as she turned around and saw the young man she had just turned her back on. It appeared unpaintable and clenched two fists as if suppressing rage. She doesn't give a damn. She ignored him and returned her attention to Yx on the other end of the line. "I'm dropping this assignment, Yx. I apologize for disappointing you. I quit."
“Wait—”
“No. Stop, please. My life is much more important to me now. Get us here once you've found and delegated this task to someone else. That concludes the matter. Goodbye." She raised an eyebrow at him as she turned to face him. "What brings you here?"
It didn't say anything. It took big steps to approach her, and she wasn't expecting it to be pulled on the necklace she was wearing.
"Shit!" she yelled.
Because it only had a GPS tracker, it broke and smashed the pendant that would connect her to Yx and provide the correct location in its hand. To function, her earrings are linked to the necklace.
"This is why they kept following me. Fuck!" To face her, it appeared dark and grimaced. She couldn't take a breath. What exactly does it say? What is the link?
"What are you up to?! "Are you stupid?! " she exclaimed, irritated. It's quite the beast, eh? She slapped its chest with her grip.
"I already know who you are."
She didn't say anything about how surprised she was by what it said. She turned around to avoid noticing the mask on her face and walked away. The mask she was wearing vanished. She didn't want to hear what it had to say in case it was wrong.
"Abhaya Kienne Sahada," Hudaon said her full name.
Thousands of volts seemed to strike her entire body. She couldn't move because of what he said. It was as if the entire world had descended on her, as if it had recognized her identity. She was able to take a few seconds before facing the young man's tall forehead, despite the fact that she wanted to get away from him at the time.
"Hello, Doctor Hudson Herrence Hayes," she said without emotion when she met his offering gaze on her. "What do you expect, a hug from me?" she assured calmly.
The tendon of its vein protruded from the neck, as if holding back rage. At the time, Abhaya only read one thing: anger. Anger directed at her.
Wow! She wished to applaud. Is this the person who wants to be mad at her? It's funny once more. Well, he already knows who she is, which is probably why she left for good.
"You planned it. Everything. You think I wouldn't know?" Hudson grinned like a demon. "You're one of those people who wants to kill me!"
His chin twitched, and his hand shot into the air. "Bullshit!" she wanted to scream, but she stopped herself because there was no reason to cry in front of him again. She is not the former woman he has trampled and discarded.
"Confirm." It still had the look that her strong slap had activated. His face redden, and its anger was reflected in its eyes. "Do you want to kill me in such a way that you won't notice? It's simple, Abhaya."
"I'm not your opponent," she retorted angrily.
"I'm aware of it. In the first place, you're the spy. You will perish before you can murder me." A bullet rained down on them in the distance as he was about to grab her arm.
Damn! This is precisely what she stated. She pushed the young man and ran in another direction. The big rocks are a good thing and large trees in that area. How did their adversaries track them? She knew she had misled them, so it was impossible for her to catch up with them quickly.
She was hiding behind a large tree, while Hudson was in the other. He pointed the gun at her as well. They will kill each other if they have to!
Shit! When someone shot in her direction, she bowed. She aimed her gun at the perpetrator right away, and it fell to the ground. Who is truly behind all of this?
She fought the shooter and backed up to flee. She knew Hudson couldn't see what she was doing fighting her opponents because she was focused on aiming at each one. She took advantage of this to get away. She dashed away from the scene.
"Argh!" she exclaimed as a gunshot hit her in the back. She walked away despite the discomfort.
The machine's roar could be heard from the air. It's, Yx?! She felt relieved, but after they responded to the young man earlier, she had second thoughts about his person. Yx cannot be— no way! The entire area was filled with gunfire. She came to a halt first, leaning against a large rock with thick grass growing on top.
Shee was almost surprised when she leaned over and realized it looked like a hiding place or cave beneath. She entered and hid without hesitation. When she wore the bracelet, the entire area lit up.
She dozed off. That was the first thought that came to Abhaya's mind when she opened her eyes and realized she was still in hiding. The entire area was quiet, and she heard no gunshots. A series of pains in the back of her shoulder pinched her.
Shee waited a few moments before coming out of her hiding place. It was around noon when she looked at the device in her hand. There hasn't been much shooting recently, so it's been quiet. Even though she was getting close to the gunshot wound, she began to take steps. Good thing her body is strong, and she believe death fears her because she is still alive.
She had no idea where she was going with it. She was in the middle of the woods and didn't want to see Hudson's face in case something bad happened. She followed her instincts in which direction she was going because she was used to this setup and it was part of her training on Yx's island.
She appeared to be having second thoughts, based on what she discovered. Who is truly behind all of this? Maybe not, Yx, she's aware of it. Is Yx the bad man here? Her mind screamed. She was caught off guard by the questions that raced through her mind. Yx knows what happened in the past, and why didn't Yx just kill Hudson himself? Why should she be made keeper? She was perplexed by what had occurred. No, Yx cannot betray or endanger her, but can he? Couldn't the man have done it so that it wasn't obvious that he was behind everything?
Merde! She fleed away on the rocks far too soon. In these circumstances, who should she put her trust in?
Shee firmly dismissed the thoughts racing through her mind. She stood up and continued walking, gasping. She returned to her previous location, but not to where they had left the man's car. When she saw the wide road, she smiled. She exhaled deeply and continued walking. She'd wait for a car or something on the road to stop, making sure she didn't enter an abandoned location.
When she saw a chopper, she had to wait for more than three hours. She was about to run away when she realized Yx was the pilot. Her mind became confused, and despite her desire to flee, she remained calm. She knew it wouldn't hurt her and had proven it numerous times. She'd just put on a mask that she didn't know or the right word for, and she didn't care.
"I've been looking for you, I was wondering how you were," Yx said worriedly as he boarded the chopper.
Shee just smiled and didn't say anything else. She would have wanted to know how he was, if it had killed the young man, if it had won the right to kill him, and if it had really used her. But she remained silent because her current condition required strength.
"We have to get that bullet out." The chopper was then launched.
For a brief moment, she closed her eyes. She requires her strength and forces herself not to think first. She will first think for herself.
