In the midst of her ordinary daily rounds within the ICU, she was suddenly overcome by a wave of low blood sugar. The next thing she knew, she had fainted right beside a particular patient's bed. When her eyes fluttered open once more, she was met with the intense stare of a patient who had been in a coma for a staggering three years. He was a man of remarkable handsomeness, and his expression was a curious blend of gloom and something else, something that seemed to hint at a hidden depth. He then spoke in a soft, yet slightly accusatory tone, "You managed to end up on top of my oxygen tube." This unexpected encounter was the start of a series of events that would gradually draw her closer to this mysterious coma patient, and perhaps, kindle a love that neither of them could have anticipated.

Chapter 1

“608, Daniel―”
I pushed open the door.
The spacious single-patient ward was quiet, with only the faint sound of medical equipment operating.
Inside lay a man.
His narrow eyes were tightly closed, with a slight upward curve at the corner of his mouth.
His beautiful and serene sleeping face made me wonder what kind of dream he had. I guessed it must have been sweet. Otherwise, he wouldn't have slept for three years.
I approached and performed the routine checks on his vital signs, body temperature, heart rate...
Soon, the last piece of data was recorded.
I stood up straight.
But suddenly, everything turned black before my eyes, and my head felt heavy as I fell straight down.
My low blood sugar was an old problem, and it would normally improve after a while.
But this time, my head unfortunately hit the edge of the bed, causing me to lose consciousness immediately.
I didn't know how long I had passed out.
I slowly regained consciousness.
I rubbed my swollen forehead, feeling both laughter and tears. Fortunately, I fainted in this ward. Otherwise,it could have been a big problem.
I sat up and unexpectedly met a pair of deep eyes.
“Awake?”
I nodded awkwardly.
The man on the hospital bed turned his head to look at me. His gaunt cheeks didn't diminish his handsomeness at all but added a touch of coldness and fragility.
“Now that you're awake, get up. You pressed on my oxygen tube.”
Um―
I quickly got up.
Only then did I realize that when I fell, I accidentally disconnected his respirator's power supply in a panic.
Under Daniel's gaze, I plugged it back in and carefully put the oxygen mask back on him.
After doing all this, I finally reacted.
Daniel―woke up?
A vegetable, with a less than five percent chance of recovery, woke up?
A medical miracle!
