Chapter 16

A few hours flashed by.
Andrew locked me in a small dark room.
He neither hit nor interrogated me; I started to suspect that he had forgotten about me.
Finally, the door opened.
The instigator appeared in front of me.
I glanced at him indifferently.
His face clearly spelled "being unrepentant".
"Mr. Wilson, it's useless to lock me up. I truly don't know where Daniel went."
Andrew strolled over to sit on the sofa opposite me, stretching his limbs freely.
"It's alright if you don't know. He will come to rescue you on his own."
I rolled my eyes inwardly.
Is this guy crazy?
"Mr. Wilson, what is the first thing a blind person does after regaining their sight? They throw away their cane. To Daniel, I am like a useless cane. How could he possibly come?"
He raised an eyebrow teasingly and asked, "So, to you, I'm just a useless cane, too? Betraying me after all?"
Um...
"If you see it that way, then I can't do anything about it."
Andrew wasn't angry either, he just contently smoked his cigarette.
I, on the other hand, cowered in the corner like a quail, afraid that he might shoot me if he's in a bad mood.
After an unknown amount of time passed, he spoke, "Do you like him?"
My gaze flickered for a moment, but I didn't answer.
Andrew smiled knowingly, stood up, and looked down at me not far away.
"It's about time, I'll take you to meet someone."
My heart skipped a beat.
It couldn't be my father...
It shouldn't be.
My father's frail body wouldn't survive a beating, let alone a beating from Andrew.
He wouldn't go as far as killing someone.
Moreover, I was already in his sight.
Under his control,
Who could that be?
Andrew led me to the basement.
A heavy iron door slowly pushed open.
Even though I had mentally prepared myself, I was still overwhelmed when I saw what was inside.
