Chapter 11
Inside a salon.
I sat in the lounge area, lost in thought.
How could this be?
Daniel has been conscious all along!
He only lost all motor functions in his body.
But his brain could still think normally, and he could hear the sounds of the outside world.
During the time I first came to the hospital, I would come and sit in Room 608 whenever I had free time.
Because it was the quietest place in the entire hospital.
Daniel was a perfect listener, never interrupting or expressing opinions.
So I would ramble on about various trivial matters to him.
It wasn't until later when I started working more and more that this "sounding board" was laid off.
I lamented and played with my long hair.
Did he hear the part about high school?
He probably didn't hear everything... even if he was conscious, he still needed to sleep, right?
As I comforted myself, I heard a light cough from above.
I looked up suddenly and couldn't help but be startled.
Daniel was standing in front of me.
His sharp short hair accentuated his well-defined facial features, making him incredibly handsome.
Feeling my intense gaze, he awkwardly touched his short hair.
"Does it not look good?" he asked.
I nodded awkwardly, "It looks good."
Seeing him again made the blurry image of that youth from my memories come back to life.
As if just a second ago, he was still freely sweating on the basketball court.
And I was still that secret admirer, quietly watching him from the corner of the stands.
