Am I evil?

After making a false promise to Nathan about not saying a word to his mother, I was standing outside her door to do that.
Nathan could be standing right behind me, or the servant who I had asked directions from to Mary Sinclair’s room could report to Frank about it. I turn around, expecting my fears to manifest immediately. However, I found only air surrounding me.
I flicked my forehead. Why would any of that be true? Nathan wasn’t a spy, nor was Frank the house servants' leader. Fear was making me delusional.
Pushing aside the thoughts of the worst things that could happen, I knocked at her door. When I was about to knock again, it occurred to me that Mary Sinclair might not even be there. She had darted out of that place to share the scandalous news of her pregnancy with Doctor Williams. She must be with him.
As I didn’t know where to look for her next, I turned around to leave but stopped at the sound of the door.
“Is it you, Amelia?” spoke a distressed Mrs. Sinclair.
“Yes.” I hastily looked back at her. Her condition wasn’t the best. Mascara was smeared all around her eyes, and her nose was dripping. What happened to her in such a short time? Did the doctor not react well to that news?
“Are you alright?” I whispered. “Have you told him about that?”
“Come inside,” she replied in a gloomy voice, opening the door wide to make room for me to get in. I walked inside, half expecting Doctor Williams to be present there. To my relief, he wasn’t, which made me wonder if my guess about him reacting poorly to an unwanted pregnancy was true. “I am doomed!” she cried, running up to me and sobbing with her arms around me.
I would have patted her back to comfort her if she wasn’t restricting the movement of my arms by having her arms around me in a death hold like a boa constrictor. “What is it? Did he refuse to accept the child?”
“No!” Mary cried harder. “I don’t have the guts to tell him. What would I say? Having a child wasn’t part of the plan. What if he tells me to abort it? How would I tell him I want to bring this child into the world? My husband and I haven’t had sex in such a long time that I can’t even claim it to be his.”
“It will be alright,” I said, not knowing what to say. “You’ll never know how he feels about it until you tell him. Let him know what you want. Even though you don’t want it, aborting this child wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. You already have a fully grown son. If you badly want another one, you can always try to conceive your husband’s child. It isn’t too late for that. Is it?”
Mrs. Sinclair widened her eyes at me like I had just suggested something crazier than her plan. “You have made me realize that the last thing I want is my Mr. Sinclair’s child. There is no affection between us. I haven’t called him by his first name for years!” She squeezed my cheeks with one hand. “I want Williams in my life. I like him so much that I allowed him to penetrate me without a condom. Don’t judge me for doing that because I was on birth control pills. It should have been enough to avoid the mistake I am now so attached to.”
It was hard not to judge her. The last thing I wanted to discuss was the intimate details of a married middle-aged woman’s sex life. Mrs. Sinclair needed to be careful with her words.
“I am sure it’s not your fault,” I said forcefully. “He’ll understand. He is an adult and a medical professional who consented to this. Surely, he knew the risks of not being too careful.”
“Yes, you are right. It’s all his fault.” Mary Sinclair smiled manically. “Would you tell him that? Please also include the part about me being pregnant and wanting to bring our child into this world.”
I grimaced. She was such a coward for someone who had no problem having sex in our house, where her ill son was always present. “No. I can’t do this for you. No one can. You are the only one who should talk to him about this. Never be afraid of speaking to a man about something like this. He willingly participated in the deed. Now, he must also deal with the consequences.”
Mary’s facial muscles tensed. It seemed like her head would explode if I didn’t take my words back immediately. “Well, they don’t hook up with you for responsibility. All they are looking for is some fun and forbidden romance. Also, it’s not easy for a mother and wife like me. Nathan and my husband would kill for doing this to them.”
It was time to tell her what I had just learned from Nathan. “Mrs. Sinclair. Listen to me carefully. Your son told me something rather shocking. Your husband was spotted vacationing with an attractive young woman. They weren’t seen showing affection to each other, but...”
Mrs. Sinclair’s face lit up with pleasure. It seemed as if she would die from happiness. “Thank God!” She looked at the ceiling with joined hands. “He is as bad as me. I am not the only one. Thank you, merciful God.”
“I hate to ruin your excitement, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Nathan wanted to ask him directly about it. I advised him to gather evidence before doing that because he may deny it and start being more careful.”
“You are a genius,” she remarked, almost stopping herself from a happy dance. “Yes, we must gather evidence against him to make him look worse than me. That way, Nathan won’t hate me, and I’ll have everything I deserve. Amelia, you need to seduce my husband and record him flirting back with you. Nathan would kill his father for cheating on his mother with his fiancé. What a brilliant plan!” Mary Sinclair laughed villainously.
What the hell? That family wanted an innocent person like me to commit every crime to have ever existed!
