Chapter 7

****Alina

The newss l i got from Jasmine was not only disturbing but upsetting. Alpha Frederick hsd been the wolves pack enemy as long as I can remember. He was a sorcerer, a paranormal who had no o regard for anyone and seeing that he just struck made alarm bells ring in my ear. None of my friends knew it but Augustus Frederick was behind my parents death. The memories of that night came to me in brief spurts of memory, effortlessly shielding my timid mind grom that heartache. If I had the power to forget about everything that had happened, i would in a minute but it wasn't in my place to do so. Being a paranormal has blessed me with immense powers but I'm afraid, forgetting awful memories isn't one of them. If it was possible, i would gladly trade one of my powers for that. Several nights, I've been kept awake as a result of the nightmares i face on a daily basis. To say it was getting worse would be an understatement, it was downright worse. It was now a constant reminder of her past and the pain associated with it.

I mind linked Jasmine again, i needed to know what tge situation on ground was. If it required me to come to base, i needed to know and be there on time. There was no telling what the demon would do and if he wanted to strike again. He had drawn the first blood and i bloody knew that he would be coming a second time. Augustus Frederick's love for violence was insatiable and there was no doubt he would make an appearance sooner or later.

"Hi Jasmine, what's up? how's the situation now?" i said.

I was getting frantic by thr second as a result of not knowing what was happening. I needed to be on track of things, needed to be in control. It was only a few days ago i rescinded hold over the base due to school. Jasmine was now heading the base and she was doing a great job so far.

"Hey Alina, we're handling it. There's no cause for alarm, everything would be sorted out soon."" Jasmine said.

"Are you sure? I can come over to help " i sighed.

I wasn't doing anything at the moment. Britney had gone out and i was alone in the room. I was restless, i needed something to do to ease the burning ache in my chest. I wasn't going to have classes till the following day abd it would just be a class, nothing more.

"Trust me Alina, we've got it all covered. You've worked do hard here in the past few years and so, it's your time to rest." Jasmine chuckled.

"That I agree on. Okay babe, I'll take your advice and relax but if something unusual occurs, don't hesitate to inform me okay?"

"Okay baby. Ser ya."Jasmine said, closing the mind link.

I sighed, walking towards the window that overlooked the city. It was a busy Thursday night and everywhere i looked, lights and car horns filled the surroundings. I sighed, wishing i could go out and party just like them. Just then, a thought came to my mind. Why can't i party and have fun like them? I shouldn't just be in my room a sad miserable mess. Laura agreed with me, judging by thr happy growl she let out. She pranced inside me, urging me to go and be free. Its been long i got laid and i knew now was the time, there was no stopping me.

Alina left her hostel soon as she headed towards the city center. She was dressed in skin tight leggings over a loose top that made her breast bigger than they appeared. That was the aim and she was going to employ it to thr fullest. She stopped a taxi, jumping in with much agility she never knew she possessed. The cab driver flashed a smile upon seeing thr beautiful lady who had just boarded his vehicle.

Laura growled within her, wanting to scratch the man's eyes out. Alina chuckled, sniffing the air lightly and she discovered the man was a human, he wasn't a threat so Laura needed to calm down.

"Calm down Laura." Alina chuckled.

The wolf stayed calm when she waa satisfied that the man wasn't a threat. Alina knew that she wouldn't hesitate to gorge the man's eyes out if the situation presented itself. Laura was loyal and very overprotective of her master and there was nothing she wouldn't do to ensure she was safe.

"Where to miss." the driver said, smiling like a banshee.

"The downtown club." Alina said.

"Right away." he said, flashing her a megawatt smile that would leave most girls soaking their pants.

The drive towards the club was without fanfare. The driver tried to make small talks but Alina wasn't having it. She just wanted to get to where she was going without any trouble.

"So you're from around her?" the driver asked.

"Yes." Alina said vaguely.

If he truly knew where she wss from, he would leave his cab and run far away from her. Alina chuckled, looking out of the window as various people went about their daily lives.

"You're very beautiful i must confess. " he smiled, looking at her through the rear view mirror.

"Thank you." Alina smiled.

"You're welcome darling. I'm sure you've heard that a lot of times so it can't be anything new." he chuckled.

Alina scoffed, giving him a small smile. Humans were so easy to deceive. They easily believed anything they saw was real and authentic. Most times, Alina wondered what her life would have been like if she was born a full fledged human, no doubt she wouldn't feel anything and wouldn't even realize that paranormals were a thing.

"We're here gorgeous." the driver grinned.

Alina smiled, handing him a wad of cash. She knew it was much more than his fare but she just wanted to compensate him for making an effort to flirt with her, he deserved that at least.

"Wow, thank you so much. I hope our paths cross again, maybe then i can get to marry you." he grinned.

Alina smiled, climbing out of the cab. The driver horned once then twice before zooming off. Alina chuckled, heading towards the entrance of thr club that was blasting with music. She sighed in bliss because this was what she needed. It was time to get laid.
