Chapter 8

The next day, Eric woke up bright and early. The following day was the day of the meeting and he had just today to gather up everything he would be taking into the mansion. Oddly enough, Eric wasn't scared because he knew he was on the right track, Augustus Frederick and his entire pack had wronged him and now, it was time for Eric to make it right.
"This would just be the first warning strike, the others would be worse than this", Eric muttered.
He left the tent, heading in the opposite direction. He needed to take a bath and he knew just the right place to do that. He had discovered the small stream during one of the days after the accident when he was always walking about. He had discovered so many other places, some as far as the border which was considered that farthest from any other place.
Eric walked down the steep path that led towards the stream. The beauty about the whole thing was that a part of the stream brought out cool water while the other part brought out steaming hot water and when both temperatures met at the middle, it was a refreshing moment. That was the exact spot Eric loved to stay.
He knew no one had discovered it yet if not, the place would have been filled with people.Eric had no doubt that if Kevin knew about it, he would confisticate it and claim it for himself even when it wasn't on his land at all.
Eric took a light bath, coming out quickly. As he dressed, his mind went back to Liyah and he wondered what she was doing. He knew that the food he dropped for her would be sufficient and also the water. She was in that mess because of the choices her father made, a choice that had left Eric a sad, broken mess. There was nothing he could do that would restore that hope and joy in him. His girlfriend was everything that gave him joy and peace and now, it had been taken away from him.
"There will be no rest for the wicked", Eric vowed.
He left the stream soon, clutching a large rodent in his hands he had caught. Now that he was in his full element, Eric preferred eating his meals raw. There was this energy he got, it renewed his strength and made him much more stronger.
Eric got to his tent soon and he was glad to see that everything was in order. When he left, he was a bit sceptical on whether he would meet his properties intact but as it turned out, everything was as it's supposed to be.
"Good thing the bloody idiots didn't come back", Eric chuckled.
He made a fire just like Drew had taught him to. Slowly and with quick precision, the fire came up, warming the tent. Suddenly, Eric was hit with a sense of nostalgia. He remembered the times he and his girlfriend would make a fire at the back of the house, roasting marshmallows in the open. Those were fun times, times when he could sleep with his two eyes closed beside the woman he loved. Those times were times when his heart was filled with joy now, all that was left in his heart was a bitterness so great it nearly choked him. Kevin and his pack were responsible, they took his only source of happiness and made him a stranger to the people who he worked with.
"I miss you everyday my love and I will spend the rest of my life missing you. Nothing can ever replace you, nothing", Eric muttered.
Just then, the breeze fluttered in. This time around, Eric was convinced that his girlfriend was with him. It was no coincidence that anytime she thought about her, the breeze always found its way to him.
"I know you miss me, I miss you too", Eric chuckled.
The breeze danced around, scattering his hair. Eric laughed, trying to wave it away from his face but it still found its way back, this time tickling his side.
"What's it like up there. Is it good and beautiful like we all know?" Eric asked.
The breeze touched his heart and Eric knew that it was lovely. He remembered when she was alive, how she used to touch his heart then say lovely that was what she was trying to say and he was glad about that.
"I've got to begin tomorrow, I'm doing this for you. I have to carry out my revenge, they have to pay for what they did to you, to us. I hope you understand." Eric said.
The breeze touched his hands and Kaine smiled because he knew she was in support of him. Asides the revenge mission, Augustus Frederick was a very bad person especially with the things he was concerned with. Running a prostitution ring especially with underage girls was something Eric despised. He had to free those girls before he ended up destroying their lives and the best way to begin was now.
"Be with me tomorrow, I need your strength", Eric said.
The breeze touched his hands one last time before it left. Everywhere was silent once again. Eric missed it, the company that it brought but he had to let it go for his sanity. The task ahead of him was a great one and he needed all the concentration he could get.
"I'll make you proud my love." Eric muttered.
He laid down on his makeshift bed, adjusting his head rest as his eyes slowly fluttered shut. Just before sleep enveloped him, Eric felt a light touch on his lips and he knew his girlfriend was looking out for him.
The next morning, Eric woke up bright and early. By 12 noon that day, the meeting would begin. Eric made his way towards the stream for a quick bath, something he loved doing. Though his beard was rough and unkempt, Eric kept other part of himself clean and when he could help it, he trimmed some of his overgrown beard.
He made his way back to his tent, clutching a piece of rag he had found by the stream path. He would use that to clean every fingerprint he might leave during his infiltration of the house.
"You really don't know what's coming Augustus", Eric muttered.
He cocked his gun, checking to see if the bullets were properly placed. He smiled when he saw that they were more than enough to do a lot of damage to the man who had made it his life ambition to see him unhappy.
At 12 sharp, Eric crawled out of the tent, towards the edge of the cliff. He planted his gun in front of him as he surveyed the area with the help of his wolves eyes. He could see a very far distance, something he couldn't do before. Just then, a retinue of cars drove towards the mansion and Eric knew that Frederick's closest allies had arrived.
The first car arrived coming to a stop in front of the large double doors. Eric gripped his gun, staring closely at the man who came out of the car. The man was tattooed and even from where he crouched, Eric could see that this was Alessandro. He walked towards the front doors which was opened by a guard.
The second car came soon, stopping behind the first car. Ignatius with his many piercings had arrived and as he walked, Eric noticed that he had a slight limp. The third car arrived few minutes later and Eric knew they were complete. Gerald with his bald head has arrived and now, Eric knew it was time to strike.
Slowly and with accuracy, Eric climbed down the steep path that led to the mansion. His plan was to go in through the back since the front was crawling with Augustus security men.
"You really don't know what is coming", Eric chuckled.
He got to the back soon, checking around for snipers on the roof. There were none. He made his way into the building, his gun by his side.Eric could hear voices, they were coming towards him. He searched for a place to hide and settled for a hidden space underneath the stairways. Eric watched as two hooded figure passed him, heading upstairs.
"What room are they?",a voice asked.
The building also served as a club. In fact, it was the biggest in the town and Eric knew that after their meeting they would be heading towards the clubbing area no doubt to pick up more girls. That was what he wouldn't allow.
"Room 546", another voice said.
Eric smiled, this people had unknowingly told him what he needed to know and now, all he needed to do was follow them. He got to the room soon, hiding behind a large pillar that blocked his view but he could still hear them perfectly. Eric cocked his gun and he knew it was time for the first battle.
