CHAPTER 14
The second his lips took hold of hers, Shana went weak. Her head felt light as rain as his lips plundered hers and she opened up for the kiss.
It was...
She could not describe it, could not compare it as it was not what she had imagined. It was not supposed to be so good and so hot that it made her body tremble.
When his tongue found hers, she stopped thinking and grabbed onto his shoulders, her hands meeting with hard, hot, sinewy raw male muscle. His muscles contracted beneath her hands as his hands moved from cupping her face to wrap around her waist, dragging her roughly against him.
She felt his length plastered down her own and her stomach went tumbling over.
God, this was what she had been missing on all her life. The rough masculine sexuality of a man, turned on to hot degrees because of her. She had never imagined that happening with her but it was and she was loving every moment of it as he pressed her back against the cool wall and continued to kiss her senseless.
She kissed him back, tentatively at first, not knowing what to do, how it should be done. But she soon realized that where passion ruled, there were no rules needed. She did not need a handbook or any guidance from him.
By her own volition, her tongue started the ancient dance of desire with him, tempting and teasing then withdrawing and making him want more, just as she wanted more. He tasted so good.
Shana felt like crawling into him and never coming back out. She wanted so much to be one with him.
Asher broke the kiss for just a moment to look into her eyes and she could see the passion drugged look on his face, knowing it was a mirror image of her own. His head bent again, this time nuzzling the junction of her neck and shoulder and that even seemed to turn her on than the hot kiss they just shared. She felt him licking at her, his teeth scraping her neck gently and all at once, she wanted to do the same to him.
She wanted to take a bite from him, become one with him and she wrapped her arm tightly around him as she kissed his face and neck hungrily, her desire getting out of her control.
Asher was lost and he did not want to be found. Everything felt so right. It was like different gears that had been malfunctioning in him for a long time finally got repaired and they were shifting and moving into their rightful places. Everything was perfect within him.
It would have been so normal to mark her right there and then, he thought as he grazed her neck with his teeth, deeply tempted by the thought but he knew it was not the place and it was not the right time. Also, there were things to be said.
With self-control that he knew he deserved an award for, he tried to move away from her, sensing she was all ready to perform the marking ritual without even consciously knowing it as she kissed every inch of his neck.
"Noooo..," she moaned in protest as he tried to put more space between their plastered body and that made him smile.
Yes, he had been right. This was mutual and going by what just happened, his marriage bed was never going to be boring. And she was so passionate for someone who was obviously new to this. He could tell from the way she had hesitated in kissing him back at first and he felt so happy, knowing he was going to be the first and her very last lover. The thought made him smile as he looked down into her eyes.
Her lips looked pouty from their kiss and her face was flushed. It would not be so bad if he kissed her again and indulged his passions. He just had to control the beast within him not to mark her yet, he thought to himself as he made to drop his head to take her lips again when the door was opened and sent slamming into the wall.
Shana started to jump away from him, guilt written all over her face but he stopped her, his hands tightening around her waist. They had done nothing to be guilty of and anyone that wanted to see should. He did not give a care in the world.
Besides, Adele was one person who really needed to see them together, he thought turning to face her with his arm still around his mate.
He had not needed to turn to know she was the one. He had smelled her and he had smelled the rage rolling off her.
"Adele," he said as he drew a stiff Shana closer to him. "What are you doing here?," he asked with all the calmness he was not feeling. She had put a premature end to a very perfect moment and he felt like wringing her neck. He hoped that Shana wouldn't retreat into herself because they had been seen.
But Shana was not feeling any need to retreat. In fact, if he had been in her head at that moment, he would have realized her murderous thoughts towards Adele were a more vicious mirror of his.
She had recognized the beautiful, elegant woman immediately and she had wanted to scratch her eyes out for the trick she had played on her on her first day. The woman had treated her like she was a nobody.
So, her name was Adele. A beautiful name for such a spiteful person, Shana thought to herself. And her beauty was all a waste with that personality. To think she had actually admired her when she had first met her. She cringed in disgust.
Asher mistook that as fear, thinking she was scared at the way Adele continued to stare at her but he looked down at her, his hand tightening on her waist in reassurance and he saw the deadly laser look Shana was throwing back at Adele.
Well, his Luna was a willful one after all. She wouldn't be his if she was a woman without a backbone.
"Adele," he said quietly in a tone that made her look at him and when she saw the look in his eyes, her head bowed in submission.
That was better, he thought.
"What are you doing here? If my staffs do what I pay them to do, you shouldn't be anywhere near here," he delivered calmly.
"I came to see you," she said raising her head and throwing a dirty look at Shana.
"For?," he asked moving a stiff Shana closer.
"I need to speak with you," she said mutinously.
"Go on," he invited calmly, hoping for her sake she was not about to spurt any nonsense in front of Shana.
"Alone," she added when he continued to hold on tightly to his woman, not giving her a chance to make a move even if she wanted to.
"No. She stays. You can say what you have to say in front of her or you take your leave. Your choice Adele," he delivered in a voice that said he meant every single syllable.
That seemed to enrage her and she threw a hateful look towards Shana.
In that moment, Asher thank the goddess she had walked out of his life the moment she did. He could not believe he had once fancied himself to have feelings for her or even considered spending his life with her. She would have broken him, just like his mother had broken his stepfather and she would have walked all over the broken pieces of him without caring. Adele was that uncaring and cold hearted.
"Very well. Have it your way," she said and moved further into the room. "I don't want to know what you have going on with her. You can do whatever you like with her, have your fill of her but you are coming back to me when you are done. We belong together," she finished, saying it all in one breath before he intimidated her with one of his looks.
"And what gives you that idea Adele?" His voice had gone as hard as still, just as Shana had gone pale has he looked down at her. She just realized Adele and him had something in the past and the discovery made her uncertain about him.
She realized the reason the woman had played a prank on her. It had all been to get Asher's attention.
Obviously, Adele was not over him and she could not be sure if Asher felt the same way. What if what she was saying was the truth? What if Asher just wanted to have fun with her then dump her? After all, she was no beauty compared to the beautiful Adele with her beautiful eyes, even if they were at that moment spitting hate at her.
She had been so stupid. There was no way Asher would ever pick her over Adele. She wished the floor would open up and swallow her. She felt so ashamed, thinking a whole Alpha, a handsome, rich and powerful one at that, had actually felt something for her.
She tried to get out of his restraining arm but he stopped her, holding on so tightly she felt she was going to be bruised.
"What makes you think we've still got anything going?," he asked the woman before him stonily, trying to keep the one by his side still.
Asher could imagine the thoughts running through Shana's mind and from her point of view, he was so guilty but he was going to explain it all to her later. He just had to get Adele out of his hair as soon as possible.
"Because of Milan Asher. You remember don't you? You kissed me in Milan," she said, looking the helpless female with her baby blue eyes but he saw the malicious look in them as she looked directly at Shana after delivering her speech and getting the reaction she wanted.
He was so screwed, he thought as Shana broke out of his hold and stormed out of the office. He was going to be doing a lot of explaining.
Meanwhile, he was finally alone to deal with with Adele the way he wanted to.
