CHAPTER 76
First, another wolf Shana had never seen entered the long building along with the guard that had kidnapped her.
Her eyes widened when she noticed his gait. She started doubting if he was truly a shifter, then she remembered Rose is completely paralyzed in her lower limbs.
Unlike everyone else, she could see the gentleness about him. It made her relax just the tiniest bit. She had no reason to trust him to want to lose her guard. He could be just like her captors, but with a good acting skill.
When he got close enough,he raised his hands above his head with his palms facing forward as he moved even closer to her. Shana relaxed more. He couldn't have said it in a better way that he meant her no harm.
"Who are you?," Shana asked in a scratchy voice.
"I'm your friend and I'm here to help you," he said with a pleading look in his eyes. Shana couldn't begin to comprehend all the signals his eyes were throwing at her but there seemed to be an edge of desperation to it all.
"You are not my friend. And I do not believe whatever you are saying. This isn't how you treat a friend," she replied.
"I'm sorry but there was a misunderstanding and the Alpha is really sorry about it," he replied calmly.
"Just sorry? And you call this some misunderstanding? I'm not sorry to break it to you but being drugged and kidnapped right out of my bed, then transported to God knows when while being tied up is more than a misunderstanding," she fired at him. "Tell me, what was misunderstood about me being in my own house?," Shana asked sarcastically.
When Ethan had come up with his genius plan, he had not thought about the cons of what he was doing. He had the idea and then, he was standing before Collins to talk about it.
Now, with the guard there, he could not speak with Shana the way he wanted to. Alas, he had dug his own grave and implicated Shana in the process. He was going to have to say exactly what the guard with him wanted to hear.
"I'm sincerely sorry but right now, we should get you out of here."
And who was she to look a gift horse in the mouth? She was dying to have a glass of water and a soothing shower.
"I'm Shana. Who are you?"
"I'm Ethan," he replied with a smile.
Then she had been led out of the warehouse. It was completely different from home, her surrounding paling in comparison. It seemed the whole territory was sad as the atmosphere was gloomy.
"What is she doing here? Who let her out?," Elise cried hysterically.
"It was the Alpha's order and you'll do well to step out of the way," Ethan replied Elise, who seemed like she was going into a major stroke.
"But why would he make an order I didn't know prior. I'm afraid I do not believe you," Elise snapped back at him.
"You can find him and ask him why he did that, while the Luna finds her way to her room to freshen up," Ethan replied with a smile.
"She doesn't have to," Collins' voice boomed from the doorway. Shana turned to see him with a saccharine sweet smile plastered on his face. He made his way towards her and stood right in her face.
What arrogance.
She feared the vacancy in his eyes and seeing what he was capable of,she couldn't deny he made shivers chase through her body as she saw him before her.
"I'm really sorry I didn't inform you prior but I guess it's only proper for us to treat our guest right. Don't you agree with me?," he asked in Ethan's direction.
"I agree with you," he replied looking at a confused Elise. She was yet to fully recover from her surprise.
"I'm sorry about how you've been treated so far. There was a bit of misunderstanding from your pack. But now that I know the truth, you shall be treated with outmost respect here."
Shana was curious to know what the misunderstanding they kept talking about meant but she was in a hurry to get to the shower Ethan had mentioned. So when she asked and he gave her a vague reply, she didn't think much of it.
"I would be glad if you could join me for dinner later today, after you've showered and gotten enough rest of course," he said. "It's ok to refuse. I don't expect forgiveness immediately," he added.
"But you expect it eventually," Shana said to herself. She nodded and trudged off in the direction that was pointed out to her. She could hear Elise voice immediately her back was turned but she didn't care about whatever she was saying.
When she had showered and was settling into the soft bed for her first good sleep in days, it finally occurred to her that the wolves were trying to play her for a fool.
They had had there conversation before her and she had listened and understood everything that was said. She had watched the man wanting her forgiveness kill a man in a cold-blooded manner.
Whatever they were up to with their sudden niceness, she would watch patiently.

Adele wished for the millionth time there was just one way she could contact her brother to come rescue her out of the mess she found herself. Her phone had been taken from her and it seemed everyone in his house had been instructed to monitor her every move.
She was frustrated and on the verge of breaking down. She was mourning her father's death and even though she didn't know it before, she really valued him and she realized the cushion he had been for her while he was alive.
She hated Collins for what he had done to her father and in her own way, she was going to get her revenge. Also, she hated the foolish Crier for the part she had played in it. She was there because of her.
Adele reasoned her father must have approached Collins because of Asher's mating to Shana. Now he was dead, she thought to herself. Adele totally exonerated her father and refused to admit to herself that her father died of his greediness.
She no longer cared whether Asher finds her or not, as she had discovered that no place was safe for her anymore. The cold-blooded killer her father had practically mated her off to before he died would kill her in the blink of an eye if she dared offend him.
Talking of the devil, he knocked her door and stepped in before she even invited him in.
"What are you doing here?," she asked boldly.
Collins chuckled and started to take off his clothes.
"What are you doing?," she asked and swallowed convulsively as his shirt disappeared to reveal a toned chest.
But man! He was smoking hot without any cloth covering his trunk. Her eyes trailed down the hair covering his chest to the midline of his tapered waist, then down into his pants.
Her eyes widened and her thighs shook when she saw his erection staring against his pants.
"You are drooling mate," he said as he started to work on his belt buckle.
"I'm not drooling and neither am I your mate," she said. But even to her own ears, she didn't sound convincing. It sounded like she was trying to say the words to convince herself. "I asked you what you are doing here," she asked, her tone a little bit firmer.
"What does it look like?"
And then, he dropped his pants and boxers.
The perfect male specimen before her made her mouth water and if he had accused her of drooling one more time, she would have gladly admitted it, completely forgetting he had killed her father and almost done the same to her. But then again, she couldn't help herself. She had always been a very carnal woman and she was never going to apologize for it.
She was definitely making good use of the body before her. Never was she going to pass up a body that delectable.
Yes, she was going to sleep with him. But no, he was not her friend or anything remotely close.
It was going to be purely physical.
Before she thought better of it, she took of her clothes and moved to him.
"That's more like it," Collins said as his hands squeezed her round globes.
He even had magical hands.
By the time he rolled off her hours later, Adele thought he wouldn't have made a bad mate if the death of her father was not between them.
But that factor was not something she could ignore no matter how great the pleasure she had found with him in bed.
"The mating rites will happen right after I sought out Asher," he stated arrogantly.
"We'll see," she said in reply. But what she didn't say was "You won't live to see that day. I promise you."
