The Broken Bond

As I sit here with Marcus, my father tells me what he is about to do and honestly I am so scared I could puke. I am not in the mood to watch my father kill himself just to keep my mother from being able to cause anymroe damage. I know it is necessary but, I am scared!! I can't lose him. He stands tall with full confidence and speaks the words aloud, he renounces his bond to my mother and as he does a huge white blue light shoots out of him and into the air. He hits the ground hard and is unconcious as far as I can tell. I get up to check but as I get close to him I hear Atlas in my head telling me to wait. I stop and turn and look only to see him patially showing through Marcus and standing guard next to me. I don't fully understand why he is guarding me form my father, that is until another blast shoots out of my dad and aims right at me. In an instant dragon wings envelope and shield me and I hear Atlas groan in pain as we both fall over. I get myself out from under his wings only to see my father levetaing into the air and glowing bright red. All at once a witch appears in the room and she too is glowing red as my father is, she gets close and with one swift motion she bites down and marks him. As she does the glowing calms down and both of them lower back to the ground in a standing position. All I can manage is a louder than I planned "what the fuck" and with that everyone stops and looks at me.


Multiple questions going through my head first one being who the heck is she? My dad was literally dying and losing all of his power when she not only appeared out of no where like a witch but, she also has wolf like powers and marked him. She wasn't a vampire I know that, the eyes and fangs were wolf not vamp. I have no idea who she is though or how she was able to mark him even. When him and my mother mated and marked each other is was only able to be done because both had given permission. Even though not fated mates they allowed each other to so it was able to take place. However my father didn't ask for help or say anything so how was she even able to do that. Also why was Atlas shielding me from the power my father was putting off when the bond was breaking? I am his full blood daughter and vampire since birth, I don't get why shielding me would even be necessary. WIth all of the comotion and the crazy that just happened I hadn't even noticed that my father was standing on his own and was holding this woman like his life depended on her. I mean somehow her marking him did save him but I don 't understand why he is reacting like he is. He just broke his bond with my mother.


The pain in my fathers face was very real and just as fast as it appeared it was gone, all because of some mysterious woman who, by the way, still has not removed herself from my father and him from her. I am starting to sense something more here and I am not sure how to feel about it. Not being the shy type I simply as her who she is and her answer is not shocking considering my current train of thought. She is my fathers true mate and saved his life by marking him just now. She is half witch half wolf and all my fathers. Selene is showing up soon to explain and to help with the babies as they too have powers from my side of the family not just their dragon father. As my dad holds this woman close I ralize I have seen her before, she is the woman who kept me safe when my mother and uncle attacked the first time and tried to kill me. Now things make a little more sense as to why my father wasn't as hurt when my mother left as I thought he should be. Why my uncle was so determined to end my father and take my mother for himself. I think my uncle is my mothers true mate as this woman is my fathers. How all of this came to be and them marking each other and having me rather than being with their true mates is what remains the mystery to me. I have no clue what is really going on with my familty but my thoughts can't continue as Selene shows up and in her arms she is carrying 3 babies. 2 boys and 1 girl. They look oddly familiar for a moment until I realize they are my babies. I immediately jump up and go grab them from her, again with so many questions. Why are they human now and not dragons and why is she bringing them to me rather than me being notified they needed me. So much is happening all at once and I am not sure I can take anymore of this. Then I realize our kids don't even have names yet. After a little private conversation we announce we have thought of names, we have Joseph, Alex and baby Sophie.


My dad introduces his mate as well, her name is Sapphire and her eyes match the name. She is part of the Glacier Pack. They are a strong pack with strong ties and standing morals. They do right by their people and by the lands. Treaties are held up and honored and this has been the way for hundreds of years. My fathers coven has alliances with their pack and now I am thinking that might have something to do with Sapphire being his mate. All the news of the day gets to me and I find it hard to keep my eyes open. My dad and Marcus take the kids and get them situated in the nursery slash safe since there is tons of gold and jewels in there still. I head off to bed for a much needed rest, with everyone here I know the children will be safe, Just wish I had thought about keeping myself safe. I enter my bedroom and everything is black, when I switch on the light I see my mother standing there. Rushing to give her a hug because I honestly do miss her, was a huge regret that I will come to learn of later. As I get close to my mom, my uncle appears and injects me with something from a needle. As my blood starts to burn and I scream out in agony I feel him lift me up into his arms and tell me not to worry it's not going to kill me, then in a flash we are out of the castle and my head is spinning as he runs. We make it to the border lands and I black out, I hope when I wake up this is just a bad dream.
