Chapter 12
Thinking her display is getting to him, she places her fingers on her lips and slowly starts moving them downwards to her breasts, taking her time to slowly circle each hardened nipple. She doesn't stop there, she moves her fingers dangerously low until they are at the entrance of her folds.
"Please come touch me, baby..." She calls again and Kain bites his teeth in annoyance.
He has to stop this madness before it continues and messes things with Emily. How did he even manage to sleep with Jessie all these months? Her body is not alluring in any way whatsoever! She has no curves and her breasts are barely there, to begin with.
"Get dressed at once!" He growls so loud, Jessie shivers in fear.
Without complaining she quickly picks up her robe and ties it around her body, getting up from the bed immediately. "Is something wrong? Is it the business? Baby, what is it?" She asks as she takes shaky steps to him.
"Nothing is wrong with my business except you!" Kain snaps.
Jessie stops moving and her eyes cloud up. "This is about her isn't it?" She asks, her voice trembling with unshed tears.
Kain passes a hand to the back of his head and breathes out in frustration. "Jessie you know this thing we have has not been working all along. We can't keep pretending it is..."
A tear falls from her eyes and she lets it drip down her cheeks without wiping it away. "You want to break up with me, because of her! Because of that lying bitch!" She yells pointing her fingers to the door.
"I have told you several times that you are not my girlfriend... And please do not call her that ever again!" He growls at her.
"Oooh, you think she is innocent! Well, guess what lover boy? She isn't!" Jessie barks in his face and Kain frowns.
"What are you talking about?"
"Just last night! I saw her throwing her medications away! She is lying to you. There is something really strange about her and you won't realize it because you are blinded!" Jessie screeches and Kain thinks she has finally lost her mind.
"That's enough!"
"No, it's not! I will not sit still and watch you replace me with some street art! I am your girlfriend and no one is going to" Jessie threatens.
"I said that's enough!" Kain roars, using his Alpha voice.
Jessie immediately bites her tongue as she is frozen, unable to say anything.
"Now, I want you to pack all your things and more yourself to one of the guest rooms. If you dare say any other negative thing about Emily one more time, I will throw you out of here myself!" He says through his teeth.
As if being realized from an enchanted spell, Jessie gasps back to life and starts packing her things as fast as her shaky hands can muster. She moves them into her large handbag and moves out of the room, closing the door behind her.
"Fuck!" Kain screams as soon as she is out.
According to the rules the werewolves made with the humans, an Alpha is not supposed to use his powers on a human but Jessie gave him no choice. He can't imagine himself standing there and exchanging words with her when it has to do with his mate. He doesn't have time for that.
He goes into his bathroom and washes his face. Now that he has Jessie out of his room, he can go and see Emily now. She may even move into his room if she wants.
He steps out of his room again and goes to Emily's room. He knocks once and Emily opens the door. Her eyes look bloodshot like she didn't get enough sleep or she is in pain.
"Are you okay?" He asks her. He can't afford to have her developing an infection or anything. Why did she look like this?
Seeing the worry on his face, Emily runs to the dressing table and checks her face. "Oh, I look like crap." She jokes.
"Are you okay?" Kain repeated since she didn't answer the question the first time.
Emily opens her eyes wide as if just hearing the question. "I am fine..." She squeaked like a rat caught stealing.
"You don't look fine," Kain whispers with a frown on his face.
"Oh yeah, I know right?" Emily says trying to wave off the conversation. "I couldn't sleep last night. I had major migraine in my head."
Kain's frown deepens and his veins pop around his forehead.
"But the doctor assured me that the medication he gave you has pain killers in it. You are not supposed to have pains..." He mumbles to himself.
Oh, shoot! Emily threw all the pills away without thinking to remove the painkillers. How is she supposed to know which ones are the painkillers anyway?
"Can I check?" Kain asks and Emily wonders what he is talking about. She had zoned out for a second as she thought about the mistake she made last night.
"Huh?" She asks confused.
"Can I check your injury?" Kain specifies. He fears the injury may have gotten infected. That is the only explanation to why she is having pains when he had given her the pain medication last night.
"Sure!" Emily squeaks, sitting on the chair beside the dressing table so Kain can check her injury.
Kain moves close and gently peels the corner of the bed bandage. He pulls it up slowly and takes it completely off. He looks at it closely and finds no signs of infection.
"Is it looking bad?" Emily asks. Her heart is thumping in her chest as she fears her silly plans might have gotten her into a major health situation. She can't develop an infection with this head injury, what if it killed her? Who will take care of her father?
Oh, shoot!
"No, it's looking very healthy," Kain says, his frown still on his face.
"Why are you still frowning if it looks healthy?" Emily retorts, turning the chair so she faces the mirror. The clean-cut does indeed look healthy. So what is worrying him?
"You shouldn't be feeling pain then. The medication should have made sure of that... Give me a minute." He says taking a step back to bring out his phone from his pocket.
"Hello?" He says placing the phone to his ears.
"Good morning, Doctor. Emily has complained of pain in her head, I am wondering did you by any chance forget to prescribe her pain killers?" Kain demands.
The doctor says some things on the phone and Kain stays quiet. Emily's heart starts racing as she fears they may have discovered her little mischief. She didn't take any of the drugs prescribed.
"I did give it to her myself," Kain says walking to the drawer where he had kept the drugs. He brings out the drugs and searches through them. "Yes, there is a dull blue pill." He tells the doctor and Emily's eyes almost fall off her sockets as she recognizes the drugs.
That's the same drug that fell off the toilet floor last night!
"Okay, thank you. Yes, I will." Kain says then ends the call. "You have to take two of this now so you can feel better." He says handing the pills to her.
She takes it and quickly puts it in her mouth without second thoughts. She has better swallow these so as not to arouse suspicion and not give herself a major illness. If anything were to happen to her, her father will die too and she never wants that to happen. Kain offers her a glass of water and pats her back gently as she gulps down the liquid.
"I will ask the maid to bring you something to eat. I should leave you to rest now." He says squeezing lightly on her shoulder.
"Thank you, Kain. You are such a kind man." She says and this time she means it. Kain has been more than helpful to her. He even paid all her hospital bills and has been taking care of her in his own house as her private nurse.
"It's nothing." He says and fit a brief moment, Emily sees a flash of gold in his eyes and she feels drawn to it. She saw it last night when he was giving her a tour of the house but she paid no attention as she thought it was just a light effect but maybe there was more to it.
"I should go," Kain says, slipping away from her.
She smiles at him, watching him leave. There is more to kain. He is a very strange man. She will have to find out before she leaves. But that mission will be for later, right now, she has a major money-making mission to do, the dress!
She scurries to the bathroom and picks it from the hanger she had placed it last night and returns to the room. She takes out her phone from the drawer and dials her best friend's number.
"Lisa?" She calls, using her right shoulder to hold the phone in contact with her ear, as she removes the dress from the hanger and starts to neatly fold it.
"Hey, Emily! What's up?" Lisa greets with energy. She is always a morning person. Emily has never seen someone like her. She wakes up with so much energy, one will think she gets the longest of sleep whereas Lisa barely sleeps.
"I have merchandise I need to sell. Can you come and get it?"
"You want me to come to the Peterson's estate?" She gasps. "Won't that blow your cover? Wait how are you even there in the first place? You didnt6 say how last night and you promised to give me all the details today!"
"Yes, Lisa I will. And you won't be coming into the house itself. I need you to meet me at the back entrance and I promise to give you all updates, okay?"
"Alright, give me a few minutes and I'll be there."
"Okay, stay safe."
The line goes dead and Emily quickly places the folded dress in a paper bag. She safely tucks it under the drawer so in case anyone was to come in, they will not notice the bag.
She returns to the bathroom and brushes her teeth. She is still cleaning her teeth when there is a knock on her door. She rushes to it and finds a middle-aged woman, holding out a tray for her.
"Master asked me to bring this to you..." She says with a weird smile.
