chapter 10

Alexa

I wake up to see that I'm already in my bed. To be honest, I don't even remember coming home last night. All I remembered was that I sit on the bench at the park and looking at the big lake then trying to forget everything happened. I take my phone on the nightstand and look at the time. My eyes widen when the time showing is 10:05 in the morning.

"Oh shit!" I curse under my breath and quickly running towards the bathroom to take a short shower. After like good five minutes, I walk out and dash into my walk-in closet. I just pick my pink dress and make my hair into a ponytail. I take my beige heels and wear them. I just put some mascara, pink lipstick a lit bit blusher. Well even though I'm the owner of my design company, I can't be late to go work. Discipline is number one.

I take my handbag and phone then walk out to go downstairs. "Hey, Gabriel and Gabriella. I'm sorry I can't watch movies with you last night." I said and I feel so bad because I already promised them I would watch the movie with them.

"Mommy... We miss you." They said and I look at them with sad eyes. "Honey, I'm so sorry. I promise to both of you that this evening we'll go to the playground. Alright?" That's the only thing I can do to make them happy back.

"Yay! Yay!" Then they jump in excitement.

"Now I need to go to work first. Bye honey. Be good to Dolly." I kiss their forehead and then I walk out. Well, at least the road is not too busy. I arrive at my office in ten minutes. I am so lucky I didn't stuck in a traffic jam.

When I arrive, I parked my car at my reserved spot. I get out and walk into the lobby. I smile when my employees said good morning to me. Waiting for the lift and walk in when the door lift open.

"Good morning Ms. Johnson," Hera said as soon as I arrive on the 20th floor.

"Morning Hera." I said and walk straight to my office. Just then Hera called me makes me stop midway and turned to look at her.

"Ummm Ms. there's flowers for you. It's arriving this morning." She gives me flowers. I look at her and the flowers in confusion. I never got flowers before since the first time I opened this company.

"Who gives me this?" I ask and she just shakes her head telling me she don't know. "Okay, then thanks." I take the flower and bring it to my office.

I put the flowers on my desk and take a look at it when I already sit on my seat. I found a piece of card inside it. I take out and read it.

"E? Elijah?" I look at the flowers and then at the card. "Ugh" I stand up with the flowers then walk out from my room and throw it into the dustbin.

"Hera, next time if there's a flower for me, just throw it right away," I said to her.

"But-"

"Just throw it," I said more firmly and she nodded her head. I walk into my office back and sit on the couch. I sighed a big time. Why does he need to send me those flowers? I hate roses from now because of him...

He thinks if he gives me those flowers, I will melt and smile like an idiot. He just ruined my morning by giving me those roses.

"Mommy!" They ran towards me as soon as I open the door. "Hey, my cute twins," I said and they giggles.

"Dolly, let's go to the playground with us." I said and she nodded her head. I walk out and get into the car.

As soon as we arrive, like usual they just run towards the playground. I see Dolly walk to follow them. At least she's here. I'm just too tired, to be honest, cause I have a tone of work and meetings earlier. Just when I want to walk to the bench, someone just stops me by standing in front of me. I look who it is and see Elijah who is in his Armani suit standing with a smile on his face.

"What are you doing here? Are you following me? " I hissed at him and he just looks at me like he is mesmerizing my face.

"Alexa baby, do you think I'll stop and sit silently in New York. I told you that I will make you mine again. I know I need to work three times harder to get you and that's what I do now." He said.

"Can you do me a favor?" I ask him and he nods his head.

"Stop. Appearing. In. Front. Of. Me." I said and he shake his head when I said that.

"I can't do that honey. Sorry." I huff and then Gabriel and Gabriella come running towards me.

"Mommy, we're thirsty." They said. "Let's go and buy water." I hold their hands and try to walk away. Keyword try.

"Can I go to?" Elijah ask makes the twins turned around to see him. "Kind uncle!" Gabriella takes her hand from my grip and runs towards Elijah. She hugs him and Elijah carried her. She seems to like Elijah so much. I sigh and got no other option but to let Elijah come with us.

What if she knows that he is her father? what her reaction will be?

Many thoughts running through my mind right now.

"Let's go," I said and hold Gabriel hand while Gabriella in Elijah's arm. Suddenly I feel like we're a family. That's disgusting to think of that. I look at Dolly who is in silent since she saw Elijah. I look at her weirdly and just walk to the McDonald that not too far from the park.

I queue to buy the food and drinks while Elijah and the twins just find an empty seat for us. Dolly just stand beside me looking uncomfortable. "Dolly are you okay? You look uncomfortable." I ask her.

"I-I'm okay Ms." I know she's lying because if not, she won't be stuttering like that. "You better tell me what it is, Dolly. You're so not good at lying." I said and she looks at me.

"Ummm can I ask you one question Ms?" I nodded my head.

"Who is Elijah with you?" I look at Elijah who is playing with the twins and then look at Dolly back. "Well, I tell you this because you work with me like over a year already. So I think you have to know about it. Well, to be honest, he's the father of my children. We're both once in love and get married but we get divorced three years ago." I explain to her and she looked a bit shocked.

"What about you? How do you know him. As long as I remembered I never told you about him, not even his name." I ask her.

"H-he was my one night stand like a few months ago..." My eyes widen when she said that. One night stand? "I didn't know how to say this but yeah he is. I hang out with my friends at the club in LA and he's happened to be there too. I was so drunk that time and just hooked up with him and we ended up doing that." She adds.

I just stay silent until our turn to order. When we take our seat, I seat next to Dolly while the twins sit besides Elijah. We just eat in silent but thanks to the twins the aura are not awkward because they keep talking about the cartoon and all.

Right now, I'm in my bed and it's already nearly midnight. Today was tiring but yeah at least it's fun to spend time with my children. Suddenly my mind remembered about what Dolly said to me earlier. She was his one night stand and I didn't know it.

Elijah never changes. If he truly wants me back, he won't do that and that's only happened a few months back. His pervert and manwhore attitude still there in his body and I don't think that can be remove from him.

I shake my head from the thought and look at my phone. There's a few messages from Elijah. I sighed cause he never had enough to disturb me. I open it.

"I hope you can tell Gabriel and Gabriella soon about my real identity to them."

"I want to build a happy family with three of you."

"I know you're not sleep yet. I hope when you read this you can consider it. I still love you."

I look at the messages for a few seconds before close it. Do I have to tell Gabriel and Gabriella this soon? What if they can't accept all this? But if I don't tell them, they will hate me if they know about this when they big enough. Should I tell them or not?

I look blankly at the wall and thinking about it. Maybe I should tell them about this because no matter I hate Elijah, he still the father of the twins and also they hold Elijah's last name, Perkins. Even though I didn' be with him, I want my children to know who is their dad. That's it.
