Not everyone is after money

Becky tries to help Anita out of the washroom but Yamileth refuses. She doesn't want Becky to touch her. Becky arranges her hair and cleans her face again with the back of her hand as she limps out of the office of Mr. Cheriton.

"Hold heeler her not fall." Adan tells Becky as he sees how Anita limps out alone.

"Don't touch me!" Anita barks at Becky as she puts her hand on her shoulder. Becky looks at her boss and tries to hold Anita who stops limping and shoves her hand away.

"Leave her. Just make sure she doesn't fall." Adan instructs as they both leave the office.

Anita goes to her seat where she attends to customers who want some coffee. She is the waitress of the company, Cherry Bordello.

"Anita, you can't work now. The boss has ordered you to take a day's rest. Please let me take you home. He will fire me if I don't do as he said, please." Becky explains to Anita.

"That is all you care about. Doing what your boss said all because of money that you didn't even care to see your fellow woman in pain before your eyes. You didn't even care if he was hurting me or not because all you are after is money.

I am old enough to be your younger sister. Will you watch a man rape your younger sister in your presence and do nothing about it? Don't even come near me, you disgust me." Anita pours out her grief to Becky as she speaks with a cracked voice that is ladened with tears.

Becky feels her pain but her eyes have been clouded with money that she didn't help a sister in need.

"I'm sorry Anita, I did it for you too. You needed the money and that is why you are working here today. That man, our boss, gives out money so easily and the best way to get a lot of dollar bills from him is by just offering your body to him for a couple of hours or even minutes.

Yours didn't even take much time and he is always nice and gentle. Look at how gentle he did it with you. You can't call that rape Anita. He was so gentle with you which is unlike him to the extent of even dressing you up. He has never done that to any girl Anita, no one, not even me." Becky tries to justify her actions to Anita to make her feel better but she only feels worse.

"He has slept with you too?" Anita asks with tears in her eyes which has already dried up but makes her eyes to be red and weak. Her face looks pale from crying.

"Yes. There is no female that works here that he hasn't slept with. He didn't even disvirgin you so you should be very lucky and twenty thousand dollars? I mean who will give out such money for free, just like that? Not even to any of us who have had sex with him for hours! Be a grateful young lady. Now come one let me get you home." Becky replies with a feeling of jealousy which is trying to turn to anger.

Anita looks at her and wonders if it is poverty or greed that has clouded Becky's eyes to speak that way to her. Moreso, Anita begins to ponder on what Becky said to her.

If all of the girls have had sex with the boss, then does it mean even those young girls that acts like they are still virgins have been into this too? Anita wonders why they didn't resign from this job but keeps it either. Well, her guess is not too far, it is money as she sees an alert on her phone.

Adan has sent her the twenty thousand dollars as promised. She just sighed and picked her bag. She heads out of the company when she sees Becky and Margo already waiting for her. Anita gets into the car and follows them off.

Anita drops by a large mansion and tells them to leave. Becky opens her mouth in amazement. She can't believe that Anita lives here. This house looks like a millionaire owner's home. Anita wouldn't have bothered herself with finding a job then to even look for tips of dollar bills.

"Not everyone is after money." Anita tells Becky who is astonished and amazed. She feels ashamed of herself as she just watches Anita get into the house. Anita feels hot fresh tears selling up in her eyes as she tries as hard as possible to suppress them.

She climbs the stairs leading to her room when she accidentally bumps into her older sister, Yamileth.

"Hey, be careful. Watch it." Yamileth queries her.

"I'm sorry…" Anita apologizes as she walks through the other side past her sister.

"How was work today?" Yamileth inquires from her as she welcomes her.

"Work is fine." Anita replies and walks away looking sad as she tries to hide her swollen eyes.

Yamileth looks worried as she turns her face back to look at her sister who is heading for her room. She gets inside and closes the door. Yamileth just makes a face as she assumes that she must be stressed out and leaves.

Throughout the day, Anita remains in her room as she sobs into her pillow. She cries so hard but her voice is not loud as she is weak from the pain she is feeling and from crying all day.

Anita feels that life has cheated her. She feels that Adan has eaten the forbidden fruit. She has promised herself to keep her body for the man she marries but here she is, she has lost her integrity and pride as a woman.

Anita can't stop crying as she takes her handbag and runahes through it then she takes out a small white bottle. I side with white pills. Anita looks at it with tears rushing down her cheeks. On it is written "poison."
