The call

As soon as Yamileth leaves the room, Anita reaches for her phone on the table side and deletes her boss's number before Yamileth comes back.

Yamileth comes in and sees Anita pressing the phone as she drops the tray of two mugs of coffee on the drawer then collects the phone from her hand.

"Oh no no no sweetie, you should stay away from your phone for a while. Remember you need to recover? I am all that you need right now. Besides, what's your boss's number saved with? I need to call him now before I forget." Yamileth replies.

Anita's hands shivered in fear as her eyes turned yellow.

"I…I don't have it." Anita replies.

"Uh Uh? You don't have to worry…I think I've copied some contacts into my phone. I'll just search for it." Yamileth replies which shocks Anita.

"What? How did you get it? Did you go through my phone?" Anita asks.

"No not at all sweetie. Remember my sim was once on your phone and you did make calls on them? I think I still have some numbers there. Thank goodness I didn't erase them now that we need it the most." Yamileth adds.

"Let me check…Boss….aha got it." Yamileth says to herself as she searched through her contacts then searched for "boss" on the search list to easily find the number.

She dials it and it is ringing. Anita is not comfortable as she wants to hear everything. She is about to tell her sister to put it on speaker so she can also hear when he picks the call.

"Who is this?" The voice goes through.

"Hi sir, this is Anita's elder sister, good evening sir." Yamileth replies politely.

"Yes, how can I help you?" He asks, instead of answering her greetings.

"Nothing actually, I just want to report to you that she is sick and in the hospital so she won't be able to make it to the office tomorrow." Yamileth replies.

"Oh really? Is that what she told you to tell me so she can hide from me?" He asks her back. Yamileth is confused. She turns to look at her sister who is already sitting up.

"No…I'm serious, she is in the hospital right now with me. She's not hiding neither am I lying to you." Yamileth replies back.

"Why don't we switch this call to a video call so I can see her?" He asks instead.

"Video call? Is that necessary sir?" She asks again.

"Your sister should have also told you that I hate being called "sir" but anyways, I forgive you since you don't work for me. Have a nice day." He replies and is about to hang the call when she collects Yamileth drops him.

"Please hold on. Why don't you see her instead so you can beltim not lying to you?" Yamileth accepts.

"Okay." He replies and the call is switched to a video call.

Yamileth hands the phone over to her sister as all the boss can see of Yamileth is her hair and chest. Anita collects the phone and swallows some saliva before she says "hi" to him.

"Are you really sick? What's wrong with you?" He asks her.

"N…nothing to bother about. Bye." Anita replies as she hangs up on her boss.

"Hey…what was that? Why did you hang up on him? That's rude…" Yamileth scolds her sister.

"There's nothing to talk about. I want to sleep." Anita replies as she lays back, closes her eyes and pretends to be fast asleep.

Yamileth looks at her in awe. Recovering from her shock, she walks to the bed and covers Anita with the duvet.

After twenty minutes, Yamileth leaves the ward with the empty tray of tea cups that she and her sister have been drinking since.

Not long after she left, Adan arrived at the hospital. He goes up to the reception office and asks them some unspoken words then gives them some money and leaves for the direction he is shown.

He opens the ward and sees Anita sleeping with her head tilted to the left side of the wall. He goes closer to her and sits on the bed. He is sitting with his back facing the door while.he is watching Anita sleep.

He is about to get up and turn when Yamileth gets in and closes the door behind her. He doesn't recognize her at first because she entered with her back.

Adan is standing like a gentleman as he greets her.

"Hi." He greets her.

"He…you? What are you doing here?" Yamileth's countenance changed to an angry and suspicious one as she asked him in a hushed tone so as not to wake her sister up.

"I should be asking you what you are doing here because I'm here to see my sick employee." Adan replies with pride in his voice which is the audacity for her.

"If you must know, then you have to get out of here before I call the security on you." Yamileth threatens.

"Why? For what reason?" He asks her.

"I don't know! For intruding! You have no business to do in this war so get out!" Yamileth yells at him as her voice becomes louder and Anita opens her eyes.

"Sis…you and who?" She asks. She can only see the back of Adan in his black suit and her sister, who is facing her.

Adan suddenly turns on hearing her voice. Anita is shocked to see her boss.

"What…what are you doing here?" She asks him. Yamileth is also confused as well but feels embarrassed too. She thinks that he is here to see her.

"I came to see you. Your sister did tell me you were sick." Adan replies.

"You shouldn't have bothered…" Anita replies.

"Hey come on, besides, what's that girl doing here? Is she the janitor who cleans your ward? Can she give us some privacy to talk?" Adan asks Anita but faces Yamileth as he says the last line.
