A walk

Yamileth runs out of the house quickly and stops a taxi. She begins to follow the car but soon loses track of them. She is biting herself in anger as she sits at the back seat of the taxi.

Uncontrollable tears if bitterness runs down her cheeks as she is so bitter right now. She doesn't even know when she breaks down into tears.

"Ma'am, are you okay?" The taxi driver asks her as he noticed her crying for some minutes now. She ignores him and continues to cry. The taxi driver hands her his handkerchief to wipe her tears and clean her nose.

He drops her off at her apartment where she lives with her family.

"Here is your money." She says to him.

"You can keep it ma'am. Please don't cry again, that beautiful face of yours shouldn't be stained with tears. Whatever it is, ease doesn't stop smiling." He says to her and drives away.

Yamileth can't seem to control her emotions right now. She cleans her face and walks into the house. She goes straight to her room and locks the door.

Anita hears footsteps and gets up. She knows that her sister is back. She wants to go and talk to her about an order that she made on her sister's laptop some days ago.

She knocks on the door but doesn't get a reply.

"I don't want to be disturbed right now." Yamileth manages to say in a sleepy voice as Anita thinks but she is having a difficult time inside.

Anita decides to bring her juice to her room. She was going up the stairs with the tray when she slipped and fell. Yamileth hears it and rushes out of her room.

"What happened here?" Her mum, who also happens to be coming upstairs asks.

"Just a little accident…" Anita replies.

"You should be more careful." Yamileth yells Anita as she turns to go back to her room when she feels like throwing up. She rushes into Yamileth's room and throws up in her bathroom.

Yamileth and Monica follow after her into the room. Anita throws up twice before coming out.

"Are you okay?" Yamileth asks her.

"Yes…I'm fine. Nothing much." Anita says as she rushes to the bathroom again to throw up.

This is giving her mother and sister more reason to be concerned again.

"Do you need to see a doctor?" Monica asks Anita.

"I don't think it's necessary mum…maybe it's stress. Just let her rest and take a few drugs, she'll be better." Yamileth suggests in a tired voice.

"Okay then…come let me give you some tea." Her mum says to Anita as she holds her by the waist and leads her out of the room.

Yamileth locks her door after then and storms on the bed in tears. Different thoughts run through her mind. This isn't what she expected, she initially went to his house so that he can give an explanation as to why he is close to her sister.

She also wants to stop him from being close and also plead with him not to tell her sister anything about their affair. She is not only heartbroken and sad but also scared of Adan. Something keeps telling her that he murdered that poor young woman that was in his room.

She just feels so suffocated in her room and decides to go for a walk outside to clear her head. She wears a jacket to keep her warm from the cold breeze that is blowing outside and heads out.

"Hey...where are you going?" Anita spots her from upstairs as she is going down the stairs.

"Want to step out a bit." Yamileth replies.

"Can I come with you?" Anira asks.

"No…you're not feeling too well. I just want to take a walk around." Yamileth tries to make an excuse as to why her younger sister can't come with her.

"What's going on here?" Their mum comes out of the kitchen and asks her girls.

"I'm just…"

"Yami is trying to step out and I want to follow her but she doesn't want me to." Anita replies as she cuts in.

"Why is that Yami? She's your sister, why can't you take her with you?" Her mum asks.

"Mum is not like that…she's not feeling too well so I don't suggest she goes with me." Yamileth tries to defend herself.

"I guess some fresh air will be good for her. You can let her go with you but please take care of her okay?" Her mum says.

"Yes yes yes mum, she will take care of me for sure." Ania jumps in excitement as she runs in to also grab her jacket.

"Okay mum…I will." Yamileth adds dryly as though she is not excited about her sister coming along.

"Hurry up Anne…!" Her mum screams as Anita comes out rushing.

"Bye mum." Anita replies after hugging her mum tight. She feels excited to go out with her big sister as their mum keeps smiling.

"Ever since her sister's divorce, she's been too clingy on her." Her husband, Weston replies from behind.

"Yeah…and Yami seems to be moody these days. That's my worry…" She adds.

"Don't worry honey, everything will be fine." He convinces her and hugs her.

Anita keeps acting like a child even when she is twenty years old. Yamileth is not only a big sister to her but also like a mum to her because she played a greater role in raising her up.
