Chapter 21: When We Met
“Come on, Gwen. It’s going to be fun. This night club is super popular right now. Every big shot and celebrity has been going there lately,” Stephanie tried to convince a twenty year old Gwen to join her. “Who knows? Maybe you meet someone that helps you with your modeling career,” she continued, trying to persuade her friend. “Or even a cute guy to make out with.”
Gwen considered that. It wouldn’t hurt to go out for one night to have some fun. She wasn’t much of a party girl, but she was young and single, so why not? Maybe she could meet someone nice. She was already a model with a burgeoning career; she had a contract with a cosmetic company and was getting a lot of jobs lately. But it would be great to meet new people.
“Fine,” she said, giving in to Stephanie’s request.
When they arrived at the night club, Gwen could see that her friend was telling the truth. The place was filled with celebrities and important people, and she didn’t even know how Stephanie managed to get both of them inside.
Gwen was hypnotized; she had never been to a place so cool. The music was incredible and her body was already itching to go to the dance floor. As soon as they entered, Stephanie stopped to greet a barman, and Gwen realized that it was probably the friend who had given her the tickets to get in.
The night had been fun, though Gwen hadn’t had high hopes. And when she thought that it couldn’t get any better, she noticed a guy who caught her attention.
He was handsome. He had blond hair that appeared to be pure gold when the light reflected on it; his eyes had a tone of green that reminded her of emeralds; his smile was captivating and she couldn’t take her eyes off him.
He was the type of man that anyone would notice as soon as he entered a room. Something emanated from him that made Gwen want to get to know him.
Their eyes met a few times during the evening, but Gwen was too shy to do anything. She had no experience in flirting, especially with someone so breathtakingly handsome.
Eventually, the man decided to come towards her. Stephanie managed to escape without Gwen noticing, and suddenly, she was dancing with the guy on the dance floor.
He introduced himself, but they didn’t talk much. The music was so good, and the alcohol in her system was making Gwen feel so relaxed, that she didn’t feel like talking. She just wanted to enjoy herself.
“Do you want to get out of here?” he whispered in her ear after a few hours, making sure not to sound like an a*shole.
She gulped.
She was flattered by the offer, but hesitant to take the next step.
“Or maybe not,” he continued. “It’s okay. We can stay here.”
“No… I want to go,” she replied, surprising even herself.
And for the first time in her entire life, Gwen did something that she wasn’t used to. In fact, she had never done before. She wasn’t the type of woman that was a fan of the whole one-night stand thing. She didn’t judge those who did it, but she never met someone that had awakened that desire in her.
But with him, she felt something different. Something that she had never felt. He was kind, caring, a true gentleman.
She was a bit drunk, it was true. But she was very aware of everything that she was doing. And to be honest, she didn’t want to think. He made her feel good, wanted, desired.
She left the place with him after texting Stephanie that her friend could go home without her. Gwen realized he was very rich as soon she entered his car. Though she didn’t know its model, its sporty exterior and luxurious interior made its price tag obvious.
Once in his apartment, Gwen didn’t have much time to analyze the place, but she could notice that it seemed to be taken out of a magazine. The moment she walked through the door, he tangled his fingers into her hair and pulled her closer, claiming her lips with his passionately.
He was like a god. His fragrance was intoxicating; his big hands passing over her body made Gwen feel unspeakable things.
“You’re so beautiful,” he murmured, separating their mouths to breathe. “Are you sure you want to do this?” he asked, looking inside her eyes.
She nodded, feelings her legs tremble with excitement and nervousness. She had met a few guys before him, but she was never treated so well before. It was like his priority was to make her feel relaxed, comfortable, happy even.
The way he made Gwen clench her fingers in the sheets, moan like she was being taken out of that universe with his kisses on her neck, she could tell that he was a very experienced guy. She never felt more like a woman than on that day. He made her feel sexy. Powerful.
Seeing the effect she had on him as well, only emphasized that.
Gwen wasn’t planning to sleep there, but the alcohol and all that wild activity made her fall asleep on his bed. A ray of sunshine hitting her eyes made her wake up a few hours later. Her head was aching and her body was sore, but it had been a while since she felt so good.
The guy from the previous night was still sleeping by her side, and she looked at him for a while, analyzing his delicate features. Now, in broad daylight, she could see how incredibly handsome he was.
Also, how his bedroom was enormous and astonishing. She didn’t understand much of furnitures, but she could tell that the wood was very expensive and luxurious. The sink in the bathroom was made of white marble and the bed had the most comfortable mattress she had ever slept on.
She couldn’t believe he was that rich, and at the same time, so nice. Rich men weren’t normally that pleasant to hang out with.
Gwen decided to walk around the apartment as he was still sleeping. She considered leaving without saying anything, but something inside her heart made her stay. It was a possibility that he’d wake up and treat her completely different. After all, men knew how to be nice just to take a woman to their bed. But even if that was the case, she was willing to wait and see.
She left the room and went downstairs, getting more and more mesmerized by his place. That apartment had everything, from a chef worthy kitchen filled with all sort of equipments to all types of art pieces like paintings and sculptures. He couldn’t be a nobody. It would take a lot of money to live there and have all those things.
A few pictures above the fireplace - yes, a fireplace - caught her attention. As she analyzed it, a page from a newspaper, where the man’s face was printed on the headline, made her curious. He looked much younger than now, but she couldn’t be mistaken. Unless he had a twin brother, that was him for sure.
Gwen came closer to read what the news was about, and her jaw dropped as soon as she saw who he was.
“Businessman Finn Lane is named the youngest billionaire in the world by Forbes this month with just 22 years old.”
