Chapter 16 This baby will never come into this world alive
After settling Arabella down, Arthur James no longer concealed the anger in his heart. He asked Gaby James and Andrew James to get out of the house and called Ezra.
"Grandfather?"
"You still know that I am your grandfather?" Arthur James sneered, "I thought that someone like you who could be ruthless to your wife and children had long since thought that I didn't exist!"
The man on the other side frowned slightly and was silent for a moment. "Arabella has already told you?"
"If not for Arabella, I wouldn't even know what kind of thing I raised!" Arthur James was furious. Before he finished speaking, he coughed in a muffled voice. After a long while, he continued, "Ezra, I don't care how you mess around outside. But Arabella is already pregnant, how dare you force her to abort the child? This is your own child!"
On the other side of the line, Ezra did not make a sound. He held the phone as if he was listening to his teachings.
His man's eyes were gloomy, and his lowered eyes were as dark as the night.
"The child in Arabella's belly was an accident. I didn't want you to know about such a small matter, but since she has already told you, I'm not afraid to tell you directly -"
Ignoring the sudden rapid breathing of Arthur James, he continued, "I will definitely abort Arabella's child, and I am preparing for the divorce. Grandpa, you are old, so you should take good care of your body. You don't have to worry about me."
"Bastard! Ezra, let me tell you, you dare to touch Arabella, I -" Before Arthur James could finish cursing, the man on the other side of the line hung up the phone.
Looking at the hanging up call, Arthur James was so angry that he smashed the teacup in his hand on the ground.
The exquisite cup instantly shattered. His chest rose and fell, his breathing was rapid, and his gray eyebrows were tightly locked.
...
Ezra held his phone and stood by the window for a long time, unable to come back to his senses.
Arabella, now you found someone as your backer huh?
"Ezra..."
Suddenly, the door of the study room was open from outside.
Beth Ruth carefully walked in. Her fair little face was full of uneasiness. "Grandpa, did he...know?"
Ezra nodded.
Beth Ruth hid the hatred in her eyes and said softly, "Grandpa likes my sister so much. He will definitely save this child. It's good. You will be a father soon..."
After saying that, she tried to squeeze out a smile.
She forced a smile and pretended to be strong, which made Ezra feel even more distressed.
His Beth has always been so sensible. No matter how sad or disappointed she is, she will never show it. She will always swallow the grievances and sadness by herself...
He held her in his arms and gently stroked her hair. "Don't worry, I will definitely keep my words. Leave that woman alone for a while. When I finish dealing with Ruth's family, it will not be too late to deal with the child in her belly. Beth, I said that only you can give me a child."
"I believe you, Ezra." Beth Ruth hugged him back and slowly revealed a sinister smile.
Arabella, do you think you will be fine with Grandpa's protection?
I'll let you and your child stay for a while longer!
You can rest assured that I will never let your child come to this world alive!
...
Arabella slept for a long time. Her nerves, which had been tense for the entire day, suddenly relaxed the moment she saw Arthur James.
However, when she thought about what happened yesterday, her delicate face suddenly became a little sad.
That man was far more ruthless than she had imagined...
After a simple wash, Arabella went downstairs.
It was close to noon, and the warm and dazzling sunlight shone through the glass into the villa.
In the hall on the first floor, Gaby James was eating snacks and watching TV. When she saw Arabella come downstairs, the corners of her mouth instantly curled up. "Well, the sun is shining on the butt, and someone is finally willing to get up! One sleeps early than dogs, and gets up later than pigs!"
Arabella ignored her sarcasm and went straight to the kitchen without looking at her.
She had almost not eaten anything since yesterday. She was so hungry that her chest was stuck to her back.
Being ignored so blatantly, Gaby James was unwilling to give up and chased her all the way to the kitchen. "I'm talking to you! Are you deaf?"
Arabella looked around the kitchen, but did not find anything to eat.
Seeing this, Gaby James smiled proudly, "You still want to eat after getting up so late? Go and drink the northwest wind!"
Originally, Arthur James had someone leave breakfast for Arabella in the morning, but when he turned around and went upstairs, the breakfast was eaten by Gaby James. She couldn't finish it and directly threw them in the bin.
She did it on purpose!
Wasn't Arabella very arrogant? She wanted to see how long she could be proud!
Arabella looked at her coldly, turned around, and went to the refrigerator to get some vegetables, ready to cook for herself.
However, just as she took out the vegetables from the refrigerator, Gaby James snatched them away. "Why do you still want to eat, it's too late. Save these to cook lunch!"
Arabella could not bear it anymore and looked at her coldly. "Auntie, I can stay hungry, but the baby in my belly wants to eat. If you continue to make trouble for me, then I have to tell Grandpa!"
"You!" Gaby James glared at her angrily and wanted to flare up, but in the end, she was afraid of Arthur James. She threw the vegetables in her hand on the ground and left while cursing.
Listening to the curses that were getting further and further away, Arabella smiled helplessly and bent down to pick up the vegetables on the ground.
There was a trace of bitterness in her heart.
She made a simple bowl of noodles and just as she put it on the table, she saw Andrew James coming down from upstairs in a white casual outfit.
When he saw Arabella, he naturally walked over.
He swept his gaze over her bowl and chuckled, "You are not only beautiful, but even your cooking skills are also so good. My brother was blessed to marry you. What a pity..."
Arabella remained silent. Perhaps Andrew James felt bored and left before he could finish speaking.
She had had an appetite, but now the food was tasteless because of his words.
The frustration that she had suppressed in the depths of her heart surged.
Everyone in this family would say vicious words to her or feel pity for her like Andrew James.
Her expression was absent-minded. Sometimes she would ask herself if it was worth it to stoop so low to love Ezra. However, how could one give up everything and leave them behind by simply saying it's worthy or it's not worthy...
She shook her head with a bitter smile and picked up her chopsticks to eat.
