TWENTY.
CHAPTER TWENTY - Luther.
It was a family dinner and I couldn't help but understand why Mum made me invite Reese . Here was the thing—my family was more like the—out of the place—type. We argued a lot at the table, there was always that one person who would bring conversations and then we just rambled and rambled. I couldn't believe I was saying this but I didn't want Miss Quinn to see all of these. I found it embarrassing. I had informed Miss Quinn that my mum had invited her to our family dinner at their house.
I would never forget the day my mother caught me kissing Reese , I was so embarrassed that I never wanted to see her again. I knew my mother, she had had a smug face the whole time I tried explaining to her that there was nothing between Miss Quinn and me. I was sure she was going to bring it up during dinner. A small part of me hoped she wouldn't bring it up, especially when Reese was present for our family dinner. I didn't know what my mother was up to, to have invited Miss Quinn but something told me it was not going to turn out good.
Usually, our family dinner had a lot of good, expensive delicacies, and family drama that consisted of; my father, mother, Laura, my cool uncle along with my rich aunties and also other cousins that I wasn't close with. It was a big family at that but they could be too dramatic and vulgar sometimes. I just wished things would go as planned.
Miss Quinn and I had an hour to ourselves before the dinner. I had ordered for her dress to be brought to her as a little token appreciation of how her pussy had graced me with so much warmth. These past days has been exhausting for me including with our sex life, I have been attending numerous business meetings and having my employees at other branch work on my latest project that would bring a huge profit. I haven't gotten the time to spend a pleasurable day with Miss Quinn as we have both been busy. She had other business to sort out with her manager and so was I busy with other working projects.
“Is your mum sure about this decision?” Miss Quinn questioned, offering me a cup of coffee.
I muttered a thank you and then began. “I don't know but whatever happens, happens.”
“Really? That is all you can say?”
“No, not in a nonchalant way. My family is just complicated and I am not sure how you will be feeling about that.” I breathed a heavy sigh of resignation as I rubbed my forehead with my hand in frustration.
“I think I understand now, thanks for clarifying.”
“So, are you ready?
“More than ever!” She smiled with warmth.

The dinner was happening, everyone had settled to the dining table as the food was passed across, left to right. I could see everyone focusing on their meal. We all sat, not saying a word to each other as I could notice the awkward glances everyone gave Reese .
No doubt, Miss Quinn looked beautiful that night. Her large blue-green eyes were clear and calm, the curves of her slender frame complimented by the cut and drape of the dress. Miss Quinn had come with the same unchanging smile with which she had first stepped into my parent's house—the smile of a perfectly beautiful woman.
Yes! That was what it felt like that night.
“So, Reese Quinn, right?” Father cleared his throat to break the pregnant silence.
“Yes, Sir.” She replied politely as she gave my father a warm smile.
Father ate the beat balls with his eyes still fixated on his food. “Tell me about yourself, I heard you work in my company while I was gone.”
This made me roll my eyes at my father.
“That is very correct Sir. Mr. Haastrup employed me in the C&0 company three years ago. I'm his employee and Co-worker for now.”
“Hm. . . What I do know is that employees do not attend their boss's family dinner,” Father dropped the bombshell. “Am I right?” He turned to everyone.
Fuck! Why did my parents always have to go mess things up for me? I gazed at Miss Quinn, seeing how the smile had dropped off her face as she heard what my father said.
“Absolutely, Sir. It was only a friendly invite from your wife, Mrs Haastrup.” She met her father's gaze confidently.
Father took a glance at mother, who was now smiling at Reese . “I see. . .”
“Yes darling, she's a nice lady at that so I thought why not?” Mother chuckled.
“So, what brought you here to Washington if you aren't my son's personal assistant.” For the first time, my father's question to Reese had me in fear from place to place.
“I happen to be one of those workers Mr. Haastrup chose for our new project, Sir.” I heard her lie confidently, she sounded so convincing that hadn't noticed she had told a lie.
“Yes Dad, hence our stay here in Washington.” I joined.
“So, Reese . What degree did you have before working for my Son?” My mother asked, proceeding to sip the orange juice in her glass.
Everyone turned to Miss Quinn on hearing mother, asking this question. “I was a first-class student in Computer science. I am a BSc holder and also a PhD degree holder.” She stated proudly to my mum.
“Nonsense! Then why are you working as an assistant manager? You deserve more!” My aunt Lesley, chimed.
“Let's just say I was kind of opting for that position when I applied at C&0 limited.” Miss Quinn smiled.
It was a smile of grace.
“I suppose you both do not have anything going on with each other.” I knew my mother was spitefully taunting Miss Quinn and me. She had seen us engrossed in our make-out session that we hadn't noticed she was there.
“Mum!” I groaned, gulping down the glass cup filled with red wine. Afterwards, I looked at her with pleading eyes, hoping she wouldn't tell anyone what she had seen.
“Yes, my boy?” My mother grinned at me and acted clueless about what she had just said.
“I still wonder when you will get serious with your life though, you are in your thirties, Samuel. Do you not have any woman you are seeing?” Father reached for another meatball on his plate, still not looking me in the face. I despised it whenever they brought this situation up.
“Give me more time, Dad.”
“Son, you are thirty-five. I think it's high time you get serious with your life. Find someone you can settle down with.”
“Derek, stop harassing the poor boy. He's your son," only mother could put father in his place, but not all the time. "I'm sure the woman he needs in his life is coming around the corner.” Mother emphasized her last words, sending a glare to Miss Quinn who looked like she was avoiding meeting with her eyes.
“Son, find someone. I want to set my eyes on my grandkids before I die.”
“Derek? Do you want to leave me, you will do no such thing!” Mother scolded Father, who gave her a reassuring smile.
“I agree with you, Uncle Derek, I think it's high time we find a wife for cousin Samuel. Right, cousin Samuel?” Nelly smiled sheepishly.
“Okay, do you guys realize that I'm here, almost like, I can hear you gossiping about me,” I uttered which made everyone in the dining room laugh hysterically.
“Look at him, he is all grown up now. I remember chasing and yelling at him whenever he brought girls from high school to kiss them in his room.” Mum jeered.
“Mum!” I protested.
“Ew! Luther did that?” Nelly uttered with a squeezed face, showing her disgust for what mother had just said.
“He has turned into a Cassanova now.” Uncle Gerald joined in whilst they laughed.
I felt bullied by this. I concluded that this would be my last time attending our so-called family dinner. “More like a gigolo or should I say, a casanova?” I heard Daniel mutter and everyone stopped laughing on hearing him say that.
“Thanks!” I responded with sarcasm.
“Very welcome, Mr. Haastrup.” He feigned a polite tone.
“So Reese , have you found someone yet?” Mum asked whilst she cut into her steak.
“Ehn. . . not yet, plus, I'm not the type who does a relationship.”
“Why? If you don't mind me asking.”
Miss Quinn went mute for a while until she found her voice. “Not at all, Mrs Haastrup. This might sound absurd but I am not a believer in love. I have had past relationships but they didn't work out.”
“Wow! And I'm guessing experience changes one's perspective.” Mother commented.
“Lesley, do you mind passing me the boiled egg over there?” Uncle Star had said to his wife.
Aunt Lesley rolled her eyes at him, by the way, things looked, it seemed they both had gotten into a fight again. Everyone knew them for their silly fights.
“How about you tell the bitch to serve you? Did she serve you very well in bed, no?” Aunt Lesley turned to her husband who remained mute on hearing this.
“Oh, my God! You cheated on my sister?” Mother turned to Uncle Star. Mother wasn't the type who liked to interfere in their marital matters but this felt like a shock to her.
I looked at Miss Quinn who had spat out her drink on hearing what my mother had said. That was it! There went the family drama again. “I'm sorry,” Reese said to everyone.
“There's no need to be sorry, Reese . You know what? Whatever!" Daniel, my cousin had said in a remark. Everyone soon focused on Uncle Star and Aunt Lesley.
“Tell them! Go ahead.” Aunt Lesley ushered her hands for him to go on but Uncle Star remained mute.
“I told you, Lesley, this man was never a good man, to begin with.” Mother said.
It was no new thing that my mother hated Aunt Lesley's husband, it looked like they once had a history that was yet to be known but whatever it was between them, I knew it wasn't a good one. My mother once told my sister to leave Uncle Star as she felt he wasn't a suitable match for her. I knew her to be the overprotective elder sister to the rest of her sisters, it was understandable.
“Everyone! Now is not the time.” My father spoke firmly.
“Now should be time, Derek. You know!” Uncle Richard joined too.
Reese turned to me in awe, I knew that look she gave me. It was the—your family is insane—kind of look. She gulped more of the fruit juice quickly as her eyes widened.
“I did not cheat. I got framed, okay?”
“Then explain to me the text messages I saw!” Aunt Lesley retorted.
“Can we not do this here? Lesley.” Uncle Star begged with a pleading tone. I took Miss Quinn's hands in mine, still seated in the dining.
I thought about doing something crazy to her. Something to make her wet and moan for my touch. My hands went under the table, placed on her lap as I caressed it lightly. She had given me a stern look but I gave her a smirk in return. I raised her dress a bit and began to snake my hands into her panties. She looked at me as though I was crazy to have fingered her in front of everyone who was still carried away with their arguments but I could care less.
I dipped two fingers into her vagina, stroking it lightly which had caused her to shriek loudly as she gripped her fingers. Everyone turned to her, wondering what must have happened. I was meant to laugh at the serious face she had kept afterwards, thankfully, none of them seemed to have noticed what was occurring between us underneath the dining table.
“I must have been allergic to something I ate here. My stomach hurts.” Miss Quinn lied.
“Oh dear, do you need to go back home?” Mother said with a concerned look.
“No ma'am. I am going to do just fine.” Miss Quinn responded. I shot daggers at her, if it were to be that none of this drama happened, we would have been long gone.
Everyone went back to their arguments, at this point—I did not care for anyone who had issues or brought them into our family dinner.
Furthermore, I worked my two fingers deep into her pussy, she had gasped quietly. I chuckled at how she was finding it a struggle not to let out a moan loudly in front of everyone. On seeing this, I stroked even faster. The warmth in her pussy caused her to cum. She shook her legs gently, trying not to make things obvious between us at the table. My lips cornered a smirk as I could tell, she was having an orgasm.
I felt her hands grip my wrist tightly—she wanted my fingers out from her pussy. The more she struggled with letting my fingers out of her drenched pussy, the more I increased my fingers in her until she yelled.
“Good Lord!” I heard her scream.
“What!?” Everyone turned their heads to Miss Quinn. I quickly pulled out my fingers from her, making her breathe in relief. Without no one knowing, I pulled down her gown carefully and then held her hands tightly.
“Everyone, I think Miss Quinn isn't feeling too well. We will head home now.” I announced as I arose from my seat.
“Yes. Thank you so much Mr. and Mrs Haastrup,” Miss Quinn smiled at my parents. “And to everyone.”
I was sure the disastrous dinner had left Miss Quinn in shambles. Good that this wasn't new to me, which was why I avoided our family dinner. We reached outside of my parent's mansion with our hands still entwined with each other. I wasn't ready to let go of her hands. We had walked into the car, not saying anything to each other as we did.
“Your family is something else.” Miss Quinn remarked, breaking the silence between us.
“I asked you in the beginning if you were sure but you are right, my family is something else.”
“I think in an entertaining good way but with so much drama.” I hated to admit this but her smile had slowly become one of the reasons I admired her.
