FIFTY-FOUR.
CHAPTER FIFTY-FOUR - Reese .
The trip during Santorini unveiled alot to me; it showed me kindness, I had time to reflect on the relationship Luther and I had and things were going well for us. It has been three weeks since we moved to Chicago, nothing had really changed except that Luther and I argued a lot about living with him. I didn't want to live with him yet, besides I did not like that he was trying to take a break from everything. We just began our love life and I didn't want things to happen quickly.
“I still can't believe he was sucking you off when I called.” Regina's voice was laced with excitement whilst she offered me a glass of mango juice.
“And I still can't believe you got engaged.” I replied.
Xavier proposed to Regina last week and it was amazing to finally see Regina being happy—the way she looked at him that night, I have never seen her that happy before. They have both come such a long way and I was glad Regina could give the relationship a chance.
“I know right!” She squealed happily as she wiggled her ring finger which was encased with a one carat oval pink diamond ring.
“I can't wait for D-day! You will look so beautiful in that dress.” I said to her,
Regina and I rambled on and on about engagement preparations and that of the wedding also. Apparently, Xavier and Regina did not want to spend months waiting, they wanted to be together as soon as possible. Regina had called it a waste of time to wait for another year as she believed being together with Xavier was the right thing to do. She said she didn't feel ready but being with Xavier gave her the assurance that she was in the right place and the right place and time was going to be getting married to Xavier. We decided to bake some cookies before Regina left.

“Samuel, if you keep biting my neck again...” I was about to yell before he interrupted me with a deepened warm kiss.
Lennie had cried from her sleep which I took as a sign of her being hungry, I brought her my breast which was hurting a bit but I had gotten used to it. A blush crept on both my cheeks which made me feel butterflies in my stomach whilst he continued to tease me with kisses.
“You smell divine, what cologne is this?” He nuzzled his nose into my neck, making me place my hand on his face, lightly.
“It's a sexy-baby-mama cologne.” I replied.
“All for me?”
“Hey, you are not getting any. You pervert!” I punched his arm jokefully.
He bursted into laughter then stared at me for a while until he began kissing me all over my face. This man was under a spell, I have never seen him this happy before. “There's just something about you that makes me go crazy.”
“Samuel, not in front of our baby.” I tried getting out of his grip but he wouldn't budge.
“She's an infant.”
“Who needs to be properly breastfed.” I giggled as I felt ticklish on the neck.
“Having a hard time?” He stopped kissing me.
I shrugged. “Not really, Regina came earlier today, wedding plans should come soon.”
“Hm... I can't wait to have you be my bride.”
“Not so fast.”
“Soon you will be mine.” He grinned.
I gazed at him. “I'm already yours Samuel,” a sigh released from my mouth whilst I took my fingers into his. “I just want us to get to know ourselves better, you know...”
“I understand.” Luther nodded and then gave me a kiss on my forehead.
“How was work today?”
“A little hectic but I have it under control.”
“You know, I thought about other names to give to my daughter.” I winced in pain, Lennie's gum always seemed to find ways to make me be in pain.
“...I'm listening.”
“Okay so I came up with; Isabella and Ylenia.”
I noticed tears welling up his eyes which made me smile in delight. “Ylenia?”
“Yes, let's just say I'm partly Greek, the name comes from my late grandmother.”
“It's a beautiful name, you chose well.” He pressed his lips on my knuckles. I grinned at him, then took out Lennie's mouth from my breast.
He pecked me on the forehead again and took Lennie from my hands as he led us to my bedroom. I had spent the night not worrying about tucking Lennie to sleep in her cot because I knew she was in safe hands.
__
I woke up early this morning feeling a bit light headed and fatigued. My mouth was wild open as I yawned and stretched my limbs which gave me a little satisfaction afterwards. I turned to the other side of the bed and couldn't find Samuel, neither was Lennie in her cot. He must have carried her to the living room. I sauntered to the living room with a tired look, the running tap had caught my attention which felt unusual. Luther never leaves the kitchen with the tap running. There were no traces of both of them in the living room which made me antsy.
I turned off the water immediately and walked quickly to Lennie's nursery room and there they were—Samuel, holding Lennie in his hands whilst he sang her a lullaby. His voice sucked!
“You sound horrible.” I folded my arms, he turned his gaze to me then chuckled.
“Apologies for being such a bad singer.” He taunted.
“Whatever,” I rolled my eyes at him as I walked towards him to grab Lennie. “Aren't you supposed to be at work today?”
“No...” he responded and gave me a French kiss, Luther nibbled on my lips then bit my lower lip softly.
“I told you not in front of Lennie!” I withdrew myself from his grip, I was about to walk past him when he spanked my buttocks.
“Not when I can't resist you.” He winked at me.
“What are we doing today?” I asked him.
“Maybe we should stay outside the garden.” Luther suggested.
“Well that's fine by me.”
We both agreed on staying outside of my garden. I haven't gotten the time to sort out some of the flowers yet but I decided now was the time for me to use the opportunity to grow some rose flowers whilst Luther stayed with Lennie outside. I had gotten Lennie ready and breastfed her, luckily she didn't make much of a fuss unlike yesterday. Today seemed to be a lucky day for Lennie then. I strapped her into a baby basket then handed her over to Samuel.
I proceeded to set the soil I needed to use to plant for the flower. Luther had asked if I needed help but I told him not to bother. Afterwards, I heard him talking on the phone with someone. He had dropped Lennie beside him when I turned. I scoffed and looked back at the flower I was planting. It took about thirty minutes to get prepared and Luther was still on the call, yelling which had me worried.
I turned to him but this time, I couldn't find Lennie.
