Chapter Thirty

Ramona moaned in pain as she blinked her eyes open, she wonder where she was. Had she been finally devoured by the beast or...no, she had been saved...by a white wolf. She shut her eyes again and let the darkness settle in.

"Why are you so silent? Logan asked placing her hand gently around her as she stood and watched the unconscious girl.

But Jade kept her lips pressed together and tried to ignore the feel of his arm around her shoulder. "You're free to talk Jade, you and I know that I can't devour you". " I think it's your fault that she was hurt".

"Why? Logan asked innocently " Because you gave her that impression that she could deal with anything at her age and that's the reason she sneaked out to fight a wolf, a wolf was ready to kill royalty without any remorse, what do you think?

Logan was silent for a while as she stared at her seven years daughter who was laying injured on the bed. "I think my daughter needs treatment Jade, I trust you'll make her better... I can trust you on that right? And I'm sure her twin would be passing through this pain, what a pity"

Jade watched him walk out of the room and let out a sigh, she wonder what he'll do now...Logan the met ruthless of all wolves.

Jasmine had the neighbor visit her the next morning with her son as she asked about her daughter. "Eleanor hadn't been well since last night and I'm sorry honey..." She reached down and patted Davis's hair. "Your friend wouldn't be coming with you to school"

"Can I go up and see her before going? He asked looking pleadingly at her. " I wish you can but she is resting now but you can come and see her after school, I'm sure she'll be fine by then". "I'm so sorry about Eleanor" Miriam, Davis's mother said unapologetically to her.

"I hope she gets well soon". " Thanks and sure she'll be fine soon". "Just feel free to reach out to me if you need anything". She hugged her. "Thanks, I appreciate" she walked them both to the door and watched them both leave before locking the door behind her.

"Mum" Jasmine turned suddenly to the sound of her daughter's voice. "Hi, baby" she rushed toward her and placed her palm on her forehead just to check her temperature.

And to her surprise, her temperature was back to normal "How are you feeling? She asked as she lead her down the stairs. "I'm fine mum, was it Davis that came by? " Yes, his mum came with him but I told him you can't be in school today because you're not feeling fine"

"But, I'm fine now, theirs is no need of staying at home". " Oh, honey, you kept me worried last night, and theirs no way I'm allowing you to go to school till I'm sure you're alright" "Mum! I'm fine, I'm telling you"

"Eleanor! please, listen to me, I can't allow you to go to school tomorrow or the rest of the week, I gave to make sit you're good on your own, I was worried about you last night". "But mum, today is still Wednesday and I have nothing to do till the end of the week".

" Well, you can come with me to the office". Eleanor couldn't understand why she wasn't allowed to go since she wasn't feeling sick again, she made to leave but her mother's voice stopped her. "Do you remember your dream from last night?

" What dream? Eleanor asked in confusion. "Your dream...I thought you might have a dream of some mind if animal...that's why I'm asking". Eleanor stood and watched her mum for a while as she tried to recall anything but...nothing.

" I did not recall dreaming lady night, mum" Jasmine wanted to insist that she should think about it more but...that would make her daughter curious or bring her into the very world that she was protecting her from.

"It's alright, you should go and prepare, you're coming with me to work" finally accepting her fate, she turn and headed upstairs. Her daughter had mentioned "White wolf" in her dream last night, what was that about or should she just ignore that it never happened?

She felt frustrated, tired, and angry as she laid her back on the fridge in the kitchen. She just wishes that there was a way to push all this stress away from her...she would take Serena's advice to get a life for herself...maybe that would lessen her worry about any of this.

But what if it takes her away from knowing Eleanor? She sighed and dragged her hand through her hair. "Just calm down, everything would be alright, your daughter is fine now, no need to worry". She bugged her arm around her body and took a deep breath to calm her racing heart.

Eleanor stood in her room and tried to remember what had happened last night, she had been sick last night but wasn't feeling anything now, she felt okay now. Is that how being sick works? She only remembered feeling a sharp pain in her body and then cold...

But now, she was feeling none of what she felt last night, she walked to her standing mirror that was hung just beside her bed and stood to stare at her face. It looked pale a bit but she could swear that she was fine even as she raised her palm to her forehead.

Her pink lips looked cracked and her eyes were dull maybe from last night, she had pale gold eyes none like her mother... She didn't want to think of her father because of a lot of reasons.

Her mother told her that he was dead and also anytime she tried to ask about him...it was like asking for disaster!
