Chapter Thirty one

Ramona opened her eyes to see her aunt watching her from the foot of the bed, what would she think? That they all had been right all along. That she was this helpless heir that needed saving, she shut her eyes in pain and tried to move her body just to find out that the pain has lessen.

She just wanted to disappear and start on her own, she had tried proving them wrong instead she had fallen into danger and disgraced herself.

"If you keep thinking of your mistake, you'll never be able to get up from that bed" She opened her eyes to look at her aunt's serious expression. "I didn't make any mistake" she blurted out and sat up from the bed while trying to avoid her gaze.

"It was not a question Mona, you went out there to fight a wolf that doesn't respect loyalty, a deadly beast!! " I was only trying to prove myself! "And what do you prove?!! That you're ready to get killed!!

" I was just trying to get you, people, to see that I'm strong enough!! That's the reason I went out there! Mona felt like crying, it breaks her heart that she failed and had proved nothing.

"The only thing you did out there was to put your life in danger!! "If you had trusted me or had Walker teach me, I don't think any of this would happen! She screamed in anger.

Jade watched her get out of bed and ran out, this was all Logan's fault, and she wondered what he was going to do.

Mona made her way down the hallway and tried to avoid as many people as she could, she felt very stupid fit her action and now everybody would believe that she wasn't worth it.

A lot of servants and the elder just stared at her as she pass the great hall, she found herself muttering snd hoping that the ground should open and swallow her, and just when she was about to set outside of the palace she heard Walker's voice.

" Your father would like to see you, Ramona! Just when she was about to escape from the shame and attention last night had brought her, he was here making it obvious.

Without a word, she slowly turned back and followed him while thinking if the worst punishment her father would give her and...what if he found out that a white wolf had saved her, he knows how much he hates them...it would be a great shame towards him.

Eleanor had to finally follow her mother to the office, she just sat on the chair with an ice cream in her hand and focused her gaze on the window. Watching the cars from the skyscraper seems so beautiful than watching them from the ground.

She stared at her mother from time to time as she buried her head in her computer, she was told not to disturb and she was trying her best not to be staring out of the window.


She only responded only when her mother's co-worker complimented her and how beautiful her eyes are, she felt that everybody loved her eyes and she also fell in love looking at her slight golden eyes.

"Hey Ella, she turned as she heard her mother's voice. " Come, we have to run some errands". "Okay, Mummy". " I gave errands to run and it is advisable to have my daughter with me, right? So you'll get to see a lot of places"

Eleanor follows her behind down the elevator and then they took a cab to her mum's destination. It ends up being a much taller skyscraper than her mum's workplace and she was intrigued as she watched the building.

"Mum, what is this place? "It's called Heaven" "Heaven? She asked bewildered. " Why? Is it because of the building? "No, darling, it is a place that a lot of people with status work"

"Why are you not working here then? "Oh, Ella, I'm only a secretary not some minister of organizations or something, I just came on an errand here but you'll get the chance to look around inside while I run my errand".

She nodded while her mother took her hand in hers and walked into the building, Eleanor's eyes widened as they were inside, it was nothing like her mum's place of work.

This place was ten times more spacious and the light here was intriguing, she focus her eyes on the ceiling, which was way higher than she had ever seen.

"It's beautiful" she mumbled and saw her mum smile as she stared at the golden lights. "It's beautiful" she continued to mumble till they got to the elevator.

And after a few minutes in the elevator, they proceeded to the 16th floor but suddenly her mum suddenly stopped in front of a worker's desk with her usual smile on her face. "Can you do mum a favor and wait here? I have to take care of something before we leave, okay?

She hesitated for some seconds before replying. "Okay" Jasmine waited till she nod her head, she didn't want to go about looking for a little girl after her meeting. "Be a good girl, my friend here Anna would look after you". "Will you come out in time?

"Sure, I'll be out in time" she kissed her forehead and head off, and she watched her mum disappear down the hallway before turning to the woman behind the desk.

"You can feel free and take some snacks from here" she moved to the glass bowl on her desk but without replying Eleanor focused on the world outside the window.
