Chapter 28

James watched as his daughter was covered by a large white cloth.

"Portia, please, no....."

"Sir, you must step away." requested the man covered in that white smock he hated so much. James began to gasp.

"You can't take me away from her." he shouted and ran to the girl's body. He slowly uncovered Portia.

Her face was white and cold. Hair fell delicately down the sides of the girl's face that had once been full of life. He looked at her with despair.

"Portia, please..."

She sobbed uncontrollably as a giant pain shattered her heart.

She was dead.

-

James stood up with his breath hitching. His chest was rising and falling rapidly, as tears streamed from his eyes like waterfalls.

He looked around carefully, he began to calm down. She was in her room, it had all been a dream.

-James? -asked a voice behind him. He jumped. It was Luna.

He remembered everything that had happened the night before in a second.

He looked at her carefully, she was only covered by the thin blue sheet fabric, her hair was tousled, and her eyes were half-open. He smiled. She had calmed down a little.

-Is something wrong? - she asked with concern. She noticed his tears. - James, has something happened?

-Nothing, I just had a terrible nightmare. -He answered in a whisper. He turned to look at the time. 5:02am.-Are you sleepy?

-Just a little. I feel strange. -She admitted honestly.

Justin looked at her with confusion.

-Weird...how? With what?

-Everything.

He just breathed, he felt, somehow, weird too.

It had all happened too fast. He had gone from being in a car, cursing himself for his feelings and hitting Collin, to being with Luna in a completely different situation than he had imagined.

Nevertheless, he went back to lying down. His thoughts were getting heavier and heavier.

He had confessed everything to her, but she had said nothing. Perhaps he had to know how to interpret everything that had happened afterwards, but a cloud of insecurity had come over him.

Luna turned to look at him.

-And....what's going to happen?

-What...what do you want to happen? - he asked and then looked at her. She was staring at perhaps some invisible spot on the ceiling.

-I don't know. This is so strange. -She lied," he answered. She knew she wanted it to happen, she was sure she wanted it to happen.

-I think it's more than obvious that...I have feelings for you. - she spoke, quickly pronouncing her last words. He was nervous. And he had never been nervous before, not like that.

She chuckled under her breath.

- I have feelings for you, James.

He smiled.

- I know.
