Chapter 77: Date
"You look amazing," Dylan complimented as soon as I opened the door of my apartment. After staying with me for some time on the terrace, he went back to his mansion to get ready and come pick me up.
I stood on my tiptoes and gave him a peck on the lips. It had become a habit of mine to welcome him like that.
"It is just casuals, you know." I giggled. I was wearing a black off-shoulder crop top and high-waisted blue jeans, along with white converse.
Since it was just a date, it was best to keep it casual. And I didn't want to go overboard and make him think I was too desperate for him and boost his ego more.
"You look great in whatever you wear. Maybe without any-" before he could complete the sentence, I playfully punched him in the shoulder, and he chuckled. He was wearing a black denim shirt above a white tee and black jeans, along with white converse.
Damn, Dylan with that black denim shirt looks smoking hot!
"Let's go, shall we?" He forwarded his hand, and I happily grabbed his hand.
"Yes," I smiled at him and locked the door of my apartment.
We reached his black Lamborghini Veneno, which I always wanted to buy for myself. Sometimes, I feel like I will just steal it for myself.
He opened the door for me, and I raised an eyebrow. "Being a gentleman, are we?" I joked.
"Just take it, or I'm leaving." He frowned.
I got inside and he closed the door for me. Then he took the driver's seat and started the car.
"So, where are you taking me? A cliff to push me off?" I inquired. It was just two in the afternoon. We had the entire day left.
"That is a surprise, babe." He winked at me. I am dead.
We conversed with each other the whole way until we reached our destination. Dylan opened the door for me, and I got out. I still didn't get where we were.
He took a hold of my wrist and started walking inside. When I reached inside, I gasped.
"Oh, my God!" I squealed when I saw the ice rink.
"You said to me it has been a while since you last skated. So, I thought why not today?" A big smile took place on my lips, and I wrapped my arms around his neck.
It was true. I always loved ice skating, but none of the boys I dated earlier ever thought of that. Everyone has different preferences, not everyone likes fancy restaurant dates, after all.
It made me so happy to know that Dylan even remembered every small thing I shared with him. That was really so sweet of him.
I whispered in his ears, "You are the best."
"I know." He pulled up his collar with a smirk, and I broke the hug.
"What if I slip?" I pouted. If I slipped, then I would fall flat on my face.
"It's okay. I will help you," he assured me.
We went to put on ice skating shoes.
"Do you like skating?" I inquired.
"I love it more than most of the things," he responded.
"Even more than me?"
"Last time I checked, you are not a thing." He gave me a pointed look.
I was having difficulty tying the shoelaces, so Dylan helped me with it. As soon as I stood up, I was about to lose balance. Dylan held me by the waist and helped me up to the ice rink.
He had a firm grip on my hand, yet I was scared. "It's fine. You can do it. You already know the basics," he encouraged me.
I nodded and practiced a little bit with him. "Who taught you ice skating?" I asked while we were skating normally. I had gained a little balance; I wasn't yet ready to leave his hand.
"My dad," he replied curtly. Sadness flashed in his eyes, but he immediately shrugged it off. "I guess you are ready to do it alone."
"No, no, not yet. I will fall. Don't leave me, Dylan," I cried out.
"If you do fall, I will always be there to catch you." He slowly left my hand and immediately fear struck me. I struggled to keep my balance as Dylan watched me carefully. He could skate like a professional.
I was almost going to lose my balance, I managed to steady myself and it became easier until I completely got the hang of it.
Dylan came beside me when I could skate smoothly. "Wow, you are talented," he complimented.
I smiled and interlocked our hands.
I learned to ice skate again! That too, with my boyfriend. How romantic!
___
"Where to, next?" I asked. We just got out from the indoor ice skating zone. It was a lot of fun there.
"I am not telling you." He was about to get inside the car before I coughed. "What?"
"Someone was trying to be a gentleman." I motioned at my side. Dylan rolled his eyes and opened the car door for me. "That is better," I said.
"You are such an opportunist," he muttered, and I pulled his cheeks to annoy him. "Ugh!" He swatted my hand away. "You are still annoying."
Chuckling, I was about to get in when my eyes fell on a particular banner. My eyes lit up and I beamed, "Let's go there!" I grabbed his hand and rushed towards the place.
"Hey, where are we going?" he asked.
"Ice cream!" I chimed, grinning at the thought of ice cream.
"Oh, okay."
We entered the ice cream parlor and ordered our respective ice cream. I ordered mint chocolate chip ice cream and Dylan ordered cookies n' cream ice cream.
We had our ice cream with a lot of fun with each other. I stole some of his ice creams, resulting in him smudging some on my face. I dared him to lick the cream on my face which he did without hesitation, forcing me to become the human replica of a tomato alien and he smirked.
We walked out of the parlor, hand in hand.
"Ugh, I hate you. You screwed my schedule." I laughed as he further spoke, "Anyways, let's hurry the hell up." I couldn't help but feel delighted by his enthusiasm.
Then he took me to the Watkins Glen State Park for hiking. Being the nature lover I was, I couldn't have been happier.
"Be careful of your steps, if—"
"If I don't, I will fall into the water," I completed it for Dylan. He kept a firm grip on my hand as we walked down the paths towards the waterfalls. The paths were narrow and muddy. The trees looked so serene. I kept admiring the mother nature around me.
I could hear the rustling sound of the waterfall.
"Dylan, Dylan! The waterfall is near." I jumped in excitement.
"Stop jumping. You will slip," he scolded. I didn't pay any heed to him and ran off on my own. I couldn't stop grinning. I went to touch the cold mountainous rocks. The feeling was enticing itself.
I was staring at the lake from fifty feet above. I started clicking photos like crazy.
I was leaning too far to get a good picture of the lake when a hand pulled me back. "Miss, are you crazy?!"
"No, I want a good picture," I whined as the unknown person gave me an unbelievable look.
"Are you here alone or what? I can't believe someone would let a person like you loose here." The stranger was fuming. His brown eyes were shooting daggers at me. What was his problem, anyway?
"There you are. Oh, gosh, Shirley, why do you act—"
"Oh, so you are with her." Dylan gave him a quizzical look. "You should be more careful. She could've fallen into the lake—" Dylan glared at me. "—I can't believe how careless you are...."
That man's lecture went on forever, and Dylan just kept listening while trying to control his anger and kept muttering to himself, "No, Dylan, you can't kill a civilian..."
"Thank you very much. I would appreciate it if you mind your own business now." Dylan flashed him a tight-lipped smile, and the man walked away. Apparently, that guy was the manager of the place, so you know...
"Because of you, some random dude just lectured me, Dylan Lewiston, as if he was my history professor. I can't believe it! I hate you!" Dylan started walking off in the opposite direction, towards the exit.
I grabbed his wrist correspondingly. "Hey, hey, we didn't even see the waterfall yet."
"Screw that."
"Carry me on your back then," I demanded. In that way, he didn't have to worry about me slipping or anything.
"No way— wait, what?"
"Yep!" I chimed and wrapped my arms around his neck from the back.
"No, no!"
"Yes, yes!" I said with full determination. He sighed and carried me on his back as I locked my legs around his waist. His hands were locked around my knees. "I love you so much." I ruffled his hair.
"I hate you, and don't touch my hair." He started marching towards the direction of the waterfall. I could get a better view of the scenario from there. Perks of having a tall boyfriend.
I messed his silky black hair even more. "I swear, Shirley, I am going to drop you in the river now."
Grinning, I started clicking photos again, annoying him even more. I took selfies; most of them Dylan was either frowning or rolling his eyes.
To tease him, I kissed his earlobes and neck, which annoyed him to the bones because he couldn't do anything. I was delighted to have the upper hand on him.
When the gushing sound of water became louder, I started squeezing him to death in excitement. At last, the waterfall came into view. I got off from his back and rushed towards the waterfall.
The sun was setting on the horizon by the time, making it look more mesmerizing. The small rainbow made it more radiant.
As I was enjoying myself, Dylan just observed me with a hopeless smile. He let out an exasperated sigh and murmured, "You are full of peculiarities."
___
"I have no idea what this movie is about. Is it supposed to be an action movie?" Dylan looked at the tickets weirdly.
I laughed since I had already watched the movie. Xavier had booked the tickets. And you already know what he did.
"Titanic? Isn't it that historical ship that sank above a hundred years ago? Sienna told me about it. Maybe there are pirates in there," Dylan guessed.
"Good gracious!" I wheezed.
I don't even know why that movie was in the theater. Maybe on someone's special demand.
"Let's just hope there's some action."
He is gonna be so disappointed, isn't he?
Our seats were at the corner of the eleventh row. The movie had already begun more than fifteen minutes ago. It was that scene where Jack was showing his sketches to Rose.
We took our seats along with the popcorn and soda. To be honest, I was more interested in the popcorn than the movie because I already knew what was going to happen and tissues were prepared.
"Wow, I expected it to be bigger," Dylan commented on the ship called 'Titanic'.
I nodded and munched on the popcorn.
We were halfway through the movie when Dylan said, "Where are the pirates? At least, some action? It's so romantic; it annoys me."
I chuckled and sipped my soda.
When the ship was sinking, I glanced at Dylan. He fell asleep. I smirked as an evil idea popped into my head. Since we were in the corner seat, without any hesitation, I nuzzled my nose on his neck.
He shivered at my touch. I kissed the sensitive part of his neck, making him muffle out some incoherent words as he wriggled in pleasure. My lips traveled on the side of his neck.
"What are you doing?" he asked in an adorable, sleepy voice. I smirked and bit on his sensitive part, forcing him to bite his lip. He was having a hard time restraining himself from moaning.
I'm so evil, ain't I?
I bit him even harder and immediately sucked on that spot to soothe his pain, making it pleasurable. "What are you punishing me for?" He sounded like he was having the pleasure of his life.
Once I was done, I asked him in an alluring tone, "You always give me so many hickeys, you should have one too, don't you think?"
"You know what? I like my girl to be dominating." He smirked slyly, and I averted my eyes at the big screen. Rose and Jack were trying to find a boat at the moment and some people were already weeping.
"Uh-huh. You want more?" I pulled him closer.
He just looked into my eyes lovingly and mumbled, "Do I have to voice it out?"
___
"Where are you taking me?" I asked as I could see nothing. Dylan had put a blindfold on me.
I stumbled on something; it felt like stairs. Dylan let out a frustrated sigh and picked me up in his arms. I was singing in my horrible voice until we reached our destination. "Stop singing. You have a terrifying voice."
I pouted. "Meanie."
He put me on my feet. "Wait a minute. Don't remove the blindfold," he warned.
I heard some shuffling sound until he removed the blindfold. A gasp escaped my lips when my eyes landed on the candle lighted table. I looked around to find the place decorated beautifully, just the way I liked it.
When I looked to my left, I found the all too familiar scenario from Dylan's terrace.
Dylan was eagerly waiting for my response. "Do you like it?"
"I love it," I answered with a big grin. He pulled out a chair, motioning me to sit. Flashing him a smile, I took the seat, so did he.
I grinned as I saw all my favorite foods on the trolley. "You remember all my favorites?"
"Not really. I might have forgotten some." He scratched his neck. Actually, he didn't forget any.
"Did you c—"
"I am sorry, I didn't make them, because I was with you the entire time," he apologized adorably.
"It's okay, Mr. Chef."
We ate our dinner while playing truth and dare. The stuff I got to know about him was unbelievable.
After finishing our meal, we danced to a romantic song. It was more like Dylan kissing me all over my neck and face, while the song played in the background. I was a blushing mess after the song ended.
Together we blew up all the candles, making darkness overwhelm our surroundings. Like always, the moon and stars illuminated our surroundings.
We sat down on the ground and gazed at the bright stars. I rested my head on his shoulder. We stayed silent, letting our silence speak for ourselves.
The day itself was too good to be true. I didn't know what the future held. All I hope is—our togetherness to last forever.
