The Explanation and Second Chances

~Alexiana's POV~



I can't think straight with my emotions running wild and I can't decipher them, except for one, anger.

That is the only thing I could acknowledge, especially since my mom had the fucking audacity to lie to me. I need to know why kept this secret from me for so long and I need to know now.

I deserve an explanation!

"Right now, all I want is the truth. Why did you keep this secret from me for so long?" I asked my mom. She nodded her head, closing her eyes and took a deep breath.

After a moment later, she opened her eyes and began to speak, "Twenty-two years ago, while you were just still an infant, there was a rogue outbreak close by to your birth parent's pack.

A huge war broke out between the rogues and the royals due to one man's insanity.

About a couple days before the war started, your father received a note stating that the rogues were going to kill his pack members, his Queen, and his heir right in front of him. Then they were going to decapitate him and hang his head on the front door of his castle.

Therefore, in order to keep everybody safe, he moved the elders, children, pregnant women and every person that cannot fight, including the Queen, your mother, to the underground bunkers; your father sent you with two of his trustworthy warriors to this pack to keep you safe.

One night before the war, all hell broke loose because nobody expected the rogues to attack early.

That war was very brutal.

There were many deaths on each side and it lasted for two days.

On the evening of the second day, the number of rogues decreased tremendously and the rogues that were still alive surrendered.

Nevertheless, the rogues were killed on the spot.

Your father was injured very badly and spent three months in the pack hospital, but he survived." I have tears rolling down my cheeks, but I was shocked.

I did not know what to say.

My mouth opened and closed like a fish, but no words came out. My mind is racing very fast, enough to give me a headache.

My heart is pounding as if it is going to explode out of my chest and my breathing becomes labored. My vision becomes blurry and I could see black spots going in and out of my vision.

I hear my mom, Carson and Jaxon's voices, but I could not hear what they are saying.

I turned my head towards my second chance mate, until darkness took over; the last thing I saw was Jaxon's worried expression on his face.

'Ugh, what happened?' I thought to myself.

I opened my eyes, while sitting up straight and looked around my surroundings. 'How did I end up in bed and in this room?' I asked myself.

It took a minute or so for my memories to come flooding back to my mind.

I cannot believe my mom is not my real mom; actually, I really cannot believe I am royal, a princess to be exact.

I really do not know what to do nor do I know how to process all of this information and to top it off, I have found my second chance mate not too long ago; can my life get any weirder or fucked up?

Well, to be exactly honest, I am happy that I found my second chance mate, I really am, but at the same time, I am somewhat scared.

I am scared that Alpha Jaxon might reject me as Kyle did; I do not think my heart will be able to take any more pain. 'But what if he is not like Kyle?' 'Should I give Alpha Jaxon a chance?' I asked myself. All these 'what ifs' is running through my mind and it is giving me a headache.

'Hey Midnight?' I called out to my wolf.

'Yes Lexi?'

'Should we... should we give Alpha Jaxon a chance?' I asked nervously.

'To be honest, I think we should give him a chance. He didn't come off as an arrogant asshole when we first met him like Kyle did.' She replied.

'Thanks Midnight and you are right; let's give him a chance.' Midnight nodded her head while wagging her tail - I chuckled.

When I got out of bed, I noticed that there is a set of clothes with a pair of a lacy black colored bra and panty laid out for me on a chair in the far corner of the bedroom.

I grabbed the clothes and walk to the bathroom to take a shower.

When I was done in the shower, I got out while grabbing the grey towel off the hook. I towel dried my hair, body and started to getting dressed.

After I stepped out of the bathroom, I walked towards the bedroom door, leaving the bedroom to find Alpha Jaxon.

I sniffed out his scent, peppermint and cherries that lead me to the kitchen.

Once I got to the kitchen, I saw Alpha Jaxon sitting on one of the bar stool in front of the kitchen island. Good, he is alone; I walked to the other side of the island facing him.

"Hi, Alpha Jaxon." I greeted with a small smile.

"Hello Alexiana. Please, call me Jaxon." He replied looking up with a smile. I like his smile.

"Okay, Alph – I mean Jaxon and call me Alex or Lexi." He nodded. He is probably testing out my nicknames in his mind.

"How are you feeling?" Jaxon asked worriedly.

"I am fine, I just fainted." I answered. Jaxon looked at me in my eyes to see if I am lying. He sighed and nodded.

He was about to ask me if I was sure, but I quickly cut him off and told him that, I am sure and not to worry; he sighed again, but sighed in defeat.

"Anyways, I came down here because I wanted to talk to you in private, if that is okay with you?" He told me yes and for me to follow him.

I followed him to a bedroom, probably his guest bedroom. I thought to myself. He lead me inside, telling me to have a seat on the chair, while he sat on the edge of his bed and asked me what I wanted to talk to him about?

"I know I am your mate and you probably have some questions for me." He said yes and for me to continue.

"I have a mate, well ex-mate and you, Jaxon are my second chance mate." I could see that he is getting angry; I got up from my chair, walking to Jaxon to place my right hand on his left shoulder.

He instantly calmed down and I began to speak again.

"Jaxon, you do not have to worry about anything because I am not going to reject you. On the contrary, I am giving you a chance and I want to get to know you better." I reassured him with a smile on my face that reaches to my eyes; he gave me a thousand watt smile while standing up and hugging me, put my head on his chest.

~Kyle's POV~


When I found out, three years ago, that Alexiana was my mate, I had to reject her because at that time I did not want a mate. Yeah, of course, I have heard that mates are your soulmates, your other half that you are supposed to love, care, protect and cherish, but I did not believe any of it.

I wanted to do my own thing, live my life the way I wanted to, and make my own decisions, not some fate to decide for me on who I should or should not be with; shit, call me an asshole or selfish, but I don't give a fuck.

When I rejected Alexiana, I thought she was going to be like these other weak girls that cries after getting rejected, but I was definitely wrong; she got up to my face, accepted the rejection and cursed me the fuck out.

I stood there in shock for a minute until I heard the school's bell ring.

That same day after I got home from school, my parents were not home because they had a meeting with the Alpha from the Crescent Moon Pack.

Therefore, I had gone upstairs to my bedroom to shower and get ready because I was going to the club that was nearby of our pack.

When I had got to the club, I did not expect to see Alexiana there; I was going to ignore her and go straight to the bar, but what I saw was her dancing and grinding on some other dude. I was fighting to control Shadow, my wolf, but he overpowered me and took full control.

He growled very loudly and took very quick, long strides towards Alexiana, punched the guy and threw her over my shoulder.

When we were outside in front of my car, I took back control and we started to yell and scream at each other. When she was about to walk away, I grabbed her wrist, shoved her against my car and kissed her. I did not know what came over me or possessed me to kiss her, but I did.

After that night, everything went downhill.

During the last three years, was fine, but it was hell too. Everybody mourned for their former Beta, Alexiana's dad; he was one of the best Beta we ever had.

Do not get me wrong, Carson is great and I am sure he will live up to his father's expectations.

Anyways, during the last two and a half years, I have been sleeping with different females every night or every other night because Alexiana always pop into my mind. I also have noticed that she has been trying her best to get me to quit my 'bad habits and grow up.'

However, I just simply ignore her; well sometimes, I ignore her until one morning when I saw her in the kitchen of the pack house talking to her brother. She told Carson that she will see him later and walked out of the kitchen completely ignoring me.

When she did that, I was pissed and quickly caught up to her and pushed her against the wall close by to the front door.

Again, we starting arguing and yelling, but what got me really pissed was when she told me that she was leaving the pack for good. I was not going to let that happen, I was not going to let her go.

When Carson came into the room we were in, Alexiana pushed me away and left the pack house.

After minute or two went by, I left the pack house through the front door, running around the territory for about a couple of hours or so.

When I came back towards the front of the pack house, I saw Alexiana walking with five guys; one next to her and four behind.

I did not who these guys were, even though one of them held a strong aura, so I growled very loudly looking really pissed and looking straight towards Alexiana. To be honest, I thought she fucked these dudes and just thinking that, I let out a huge growl.

I guess that made her even more pissed than she really is, so she let out a ground-shaking, thunderous growl. Everyone including myself looked at her with wide eyes and that is when her mom came out, wanting to talk to her privately.

Her mom came up to me and asked me if she can use my office to talk to her daughter away from prying ears. I said yes with the condition of me listening in too, but I did not expect on what Mrs. Cortez said to her daughter; that is when Alexiana had a panic attack and fainted with her head turned facing the guy with the strong aura, which I came to find out is Alpha Jaxon Diaz.
