Revealing the Second Traitor!
~Alexiana's POV~
"Oh my Goddess, Jax are you alright?" I worriedly asked Jax, running to him. He said yes with a bit of a groan and told me to help him gently move Kyle off of him without injuring him anymore than he already is.
I then see the same pack doctor and nurses from earlier with the same medical tools and equipment with extra tools, running towards Kyle; I guess somebody mind-linked the doctor to come ASAP.
Once the doctor and nurses arrived, they immediately started working on Kyle. They worked on him for the same amount of time as they did for my mom, but the doctor did not have to say anything because we all knew Kyle did not make it. They quickly gathered their stuff and took Kyle's body to the morgue.
That dagger was for Jaxon, but Kyle got in the way, saving Jaxon's life and now Kyle is dead. However, what I really want to know is, "how did you made the decision to kill someone when you have not moved a single inch nor give a signal to any of your rogue followers?"
Eric was about to answer when a six foot two inch tall man with short, slicked back salt and pepper hair and five o' clock shadow, stepped forward.
"I could answer that." No, impossible, it can't be.
"Adam? You're the traitor?" I asked incredulously.
"Yes Alexiana, I am." Said Adam, smiling.
It all makes sense now. "It all makes sense now." I said in disbelief. How did I not see all of this was happening right under my nose...under all of our noses?
"Lexi, what makes sense?" Questioned Carson, curiously.
"Remember your ceremony of becoming Beta and introducing your mate to the pack, but the rogues ruined the ceremony?" I replied with a question.
"Yeah, I remember, but what does that have to do with what is going on now?" Asked Carson.
"That evening a few minutes before the rogues arrived, father took me to an abandoned shed, telling me that he was sick because someone was poisoning him and that he suspected there are traitors in the pack. When we got back, the rogue "messenger" was just stepping out from behind a tree and told us that we had two traitors in this pack, confirming what father had said. That rogue "messenger" is the leader of the rogues." I paused for a moment, letting that bit of information sink into Carson's mind.
"But, that's not all." Carson looked at me with a shocked expression – wide eyes, and his mouth slightly open.
"During the ruined ceremony, I did not see Adam anywhere, so I thought he was inside the pack house guarding and keeping everyone safe, but I was focusing more on the potential threat and making sure father was okay. All the other times, after the ceremony, I thought Adam was with the former Alpha Greyson, father or out patrolling the border; I was not paying too much attention what was going on around me because I was dealing with the fact that Kyle was my mate and dealing with his rejections. Until we all found out Jessica was poisoning father.
I'm just realizing that not only was Jessica a traitor, but she was a pawn; she killed herself because she knew she was going to die either way by the former Alpha Greyson or Eric, the rogue leader. The news of what Jessica did spread like wild fire, while Adam made his grand escape; nobody would have been wise enough to think that Adam was missing because everybody's focus was on the style of execution for Jessica's death and on father's health.
Lastly, when Kyle became Alpha, everyone forgot about Adam or who Adam was." Carson looks at me with his mouth gaped open in shock. He then turned his shocked expression into anger – well, more like pissed off and I don't blame him. However, knowing him, he'll do something terribly stupid that could injure him or get himself killed.
"Carson I know you are pissed, but please do not do anything stupid." I said, hoping that he will listen to me – which he usually never does.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME LEXI? THESE BASTARDS RUINED OUR LIVES AND KILLED OUR PARENTS! HOW CAN YOU TELL ME NOT DO SOMETHING WHEN THEY DESERVE TO DIE?" Yelled Carson in rage.
"Carson, listen to me, those bastards will die, but think about your mate-" Carson cut me off, screaming at me.
"DON'T YOU DARE BRING HER INTO THIS!" I had to cut him off by yelling at him, using my Royal authoritative voice, so he could listen to me; his rage is clouding his mind from thinking clearly.
"FOR FUCK SAKES CARSON, LISTEN TO ME! THOSE BASTARDS WILL DIE, BUT IF YOU ATTACK NOW, YOU COULD GET BADLY INJURED OR YOU COULD GET KILLED! HOW WOULD YOUR MATE FEEL IF SHE FOUND OUT YOU DIED? OR FEELING THE BOND SEVERS COMPLETELY AFTER YOU DIED?" I think that got him to calm down a little, even though he is still pissed.
"I am sorry, you are right Lexi." Said Carson apologetically. Then Carson turned and faced towards Adam and asked "why? Why be a traitor to your own pack?"
"First of all, well done Alexiana, you caught on very quickly. Secondly, the answer to your question Carson is simple: revenge." Vague much and why does Adam wants revenge?
"Revenge on whom and for what?" I asked curiously.
"I am seeking revenge on the King, your father, for my brother's death." Said Adam, scowling angrily. I guess by our confused facial expressions, Adam spoke again after sighing.
"Let me elaborate so all of you could understand; my brother is Theo Donovan and Eric here, is my nephew." Said Adam.
No! I have lost two parents already; I am not about to lose two more. I just got reunited with my birth parents and I am not going to let anyone separate me from them ever again. They have missed out on everything that happened in my life and they are not going to miss anymore.
'Jax?' I called out to Jaxon through our mind-link.
'Yes Alexi, I am here? What is wrong?' Asked Jaxon worriedly.
'You said your warriors are in position and waiting for your signal, right?' I asked curiously.
'Yes, why?'
'I was thinking on the probability of your warriors sneak attacking the back group of the rogues without being detected; then slowly eliminating the next group of rogues until only these two fuckers are left standing to prevent a war from happening.'
'Honestly, that is not a bad idea; however, the probability of our warriors sneaks attack without being detected is fifty-fifty.'
'Will you be able to let them at least try? I know it is risky, but I think we might have a chance at survival.'
'Alexi, babe, calm down. I never said that I was not going to let them try; I was just giving the probability without detection, but I do not want you to give your hopes up. I want you to always remember this saying; expect the worse and hope for the best.'
'I love you Jax!'
'I love you too Alexi!'
"Adam, you said you are going to seek revenge on my dad, right?" He nodded his head and said, "yes, why?"
"How are you going to do that when one, you are not the rogue leader, Eric is and two, what makes you think that we all won't fight and kill you first?" I asked smugly. My plan is to stall as long as possible to at least try to prevent a war, but if we do have to fight, at least we could have a fighting chance to win with our numbers higher than the rogues.
"Yes that is true; I am not the rogue leader. However, you failed to understand that..." Oh my MoonGoddess! In a blink of an eye, Adam elongated his nails and swiftly cut open Eric's throat; making sure to cut the jugular vein. Eric's eyes went wide open in shock, not expecting Adam, his own Uncle, killing him without any emotion displayed on his face. Eric's hand immediately went up to his neck, trying to stop the bleeding, but it's a waste of time because his blood is running through in between his fingers, down to his clothes while blood is squirting out through his vein.
Eric knees buckled, falling to the ground due to blood loss. He choked on his own blood with his blood splattered all over his face before he took his final breath and his eyes rolled to the back of his head.
Then Adam continued to speak, bringing us all out of our state of shock. "Never underestimate your opponent – regardless who they are. Now with Eric out of the way, I am the new leader. Furthermore, I expect everyone to fight. Also, do you really think I'm that stupid not to notice the Blood Moon Warriors sneak attacking the back group of rogues?" Asked Adam, smiling a malicious grin with his eye showing pure evil. What! How did he hear the warriors, when I could not hear them?
The war is about to start and I know Brianna and Brandon are still here; I need to get them out of here. I do not want them injured.
'Brianna and Brandon can you guys hear me?' I asked through our group mind-link. I hope they can hear me because there is no way I could go back to the house and get my phone to text them.
'ALEX? Yes, we can hear you. What is going on?' Asked Brianna. I know she is terrified, but she is trying to stay strong and that is one of the things why she is my best friend and I love her to bits. I don't know what I would do without her.
'Bri, I want you and Brandon to listen to me very carefully okay? This is very important.' I said in all seriousness.
'Okay.' They both said in unison.
'This war could start at any minute and I need the both of you to get out of here; run to the pack house and seek cover. If there is a guard, ask for help immediately and have him or her take you two to the bunkers for safety. Whatever you do, do not look back and do not come back to help. You got it?' I seriously asked.
'I got it.' Said Brandon.
'Brianna?'
'No, I cannot leave you-' I cut Brianna off because she stubborn just like me, but her safety comes first.
'Brianna, listen to me, I need you to go with Brandon, your mate, to safety. I understand you want to stay and help, but you staying here and fighting, is not just going to distract Brandon, it is going to distract Jaxon and myself. If you get hurt, Brandon will get distracted because he is going to run towards you to check on you and with that, he could get hurt. Furthermore, if both, you and Brandon were injured, I will go ballistic, putting me and Jaxon at risk of getting ourselves killed. You get where I am going at?' I asked.
'Okay, fine, but please promise me you'll be careful and you'll come back safe?' Asked Brianna. I could tell she wants to cry, but she's holding back her tears from spilling out. I wish none of this bullshit had started.
'I promise. I'll let you guys a heads up when to start running to the pack house, okay?'
'Okay.' The both said in unison and I cut the mind-link off for now.
"Well, shall we get this war started?" I am praying to the Moon Goddess above for a miracle to win this war.
"ROGUES ATTAAAACK!"
*'BRIANNA AND BRANDON, RUN!'*
