THE TRANSFORMATION AND THE CONNECTION

My blood ran cold as I rushed into the medical facility of the pack, clutching Alivia tightly to my chest. I carefully laid her on the bed and stepped back, studying her body with a critical eye for any signs of injury. To my surprise, her skin was smooth and unblemished with no visible injuries. “that’s strange” I muttered under my breath. I am an Alpha, the injuries I caused during our fight wouldn’t have healed so quickly. I leaned closer, noting Alivia’s slow and steady breathing, the warmth of her skin and it had a faint green hue. I could also feel an odd energy pulsing through her veins. As I decided to check her pupils for possible head injuries Alivia stirred and opened her eyes.

Alivia and I locked eyes in the dimly lit medical facility. I could feel something stirring within me, a strange feeling of familiarity that I couldn’t explain. Alivia’s eyes seemed to reflect my own thoughts as she stared back at me, and I could see the same recognition in her gaze.

I stood there, in a silent understanding, until she finally spoke.

“What happened to me?” Her voice was soft but strong, her eyes searching mine for answers.

“You lost control and began to transform into your wolf,” I replied, my voice steady and even.

Alivia’s eyes widened “But I don’t have a connection to my wolf how is this possible.”

I hesitated for a moment, not sure how to explain what had happened. I didn’t know that Alivia had no connection to her wolf, so it seemed impossible that she had transformed.

“Maybe it was the virus,” I finally said after some deep consideration.

Alivia’s eyes narrowed as she considered my words. “The virus?” she asked with a hint of fear in her voice.

I nodded. “It’s possible that the virus has given you an unusual connection to your wolf. I can’t be sure until we do some tests, but it’s a possibility we should consider.”

Alivia’s gaze held mine, a mix of confusion and apprehension. “What kind of tests?”

I explained to her that we needed to run some blood tests to check for any abnormalities in her system, my voice soothing and reassuring as I spoke. Alivia listened intently, nodding along with my words. As I finished, she looked up at me, her eyes locking onto mine once again.

“I trust you, Dr. Volkov,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

A strange warmth spread through my chest at her words, and I found myself leaning closer to her. Alivia didn’t back away, instead, she seemed to lean into me. Our faces were only inches apart, and I could feel the heat radiating from her body. Something electric sparked between us, and I couldn’t resist the pull any longer.

We were so close, our faces almost touching, when suddenly Alivia’s eyes widened, and she pulled away from me.

“My clothes,” she said in a strangled voice. “I’m only covered by a cloak.”

I stepped back, realizing what had happened. I had been so caught up in the moment that I had not thought to provide her with clothes.

I couldn’t help the smirk that tugged at the corners of my lips. I had to admit, this was a bit of an awkward situation.

“Yes,” I said, trying to suppress a chuckle. “You are rather...exposed.”

Alivia’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment and her eyes flashed with anger. She grabbed a blanket from the edge of the bed and pulled it around her, covering as much of her body as possible.

“That was very unprofessional,” she snapped. “You should have given me something to wear. Y-you didn’t see anything did you?”

I shook my head, my smirk still lingering on my lips.

“Nothing that I haven’t seen before,” I teased, raising my eyebrows suggestively.

Alivia’s cheeks grew even redder, and she crossed her arms over her chest.

“Well, you won’t be seeing it again,” she said firmly.

The corner of my mouth twitched as I fought back a laugh. I could not help but admire her spirit, even when she was embarrassed.

“I’ll try to remember that” I said, my voice full of amusement.

Alivia gave me a withering look. “You’re lucky I don’t hit people in lab coats,” she said.

I couldn’t help but laugh. “Hey, that is a good one. You are funny, Alivia. I like you.”

Alivia rolled her eyes, but I could tell she was trying not to smile. “Just get me some clothes, okay?”

I gave her a mock salute. “Yes, ma’am. Clothes coming right up.”

I turned to the closet and rummaged through the shelves, pulling out one of my shirts and a pants.

“Here you go,” I said, holding out the clothes. “I hope they fit. They are mine, so they might be a bit big.”

I handed them over to Alivia, her face still flushed with embarrassment. I turned around giving her some privacy as she quickly slipped them on.

Once she was dressed, Alivia stepped forward “Thank you,” she said, her voice soft and grateful. I turned around, my gaze locking onto hers once again.
“You’re welcome,” I replied, my voice just as gentle. “Are you feeling better?”

Alivia nodded, her eyes studying me carefully. “I am,” she said. “Thank you for taking care of me.”

I smiled at her. “It’s my job,” I said. “And I take it very seriously.”

Alivia’s gaze softened. “I can see that,” she said. “You’re a good doctor.”

A warmth spread through my chest at her words, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. I had worked hard to become a doctor and to earn the respect of my pack.

“Thank you,” I said, my voice just as soft. “That means a lot coming from you.”

Alivia’s eyes met mine once again, and I could feel something stirring within me. There was a connection between us, something that went beyond just doctor and patient.

“I should get going,” Alivia said, breaking the moment. “I don’t want to overstay my welcome.”

“Actually.” I said, “I think you should stay here at the pack house, so I can run more tests and observe you”.

Alivia’s eyes widened in surprise. “Stay here? But I do not want to be a burden on your pack, and I have art school” she said hesitantly.
“I understand that, but your health is more important right now,” I said firmly. “And we can make arrangements for your classes. I can take you for your classes if you want but you can’t just ignore your health for the sake of your education, Alivia.”

Alivia looked uncertain, but I could see the concern in her eyes. “I don’t know,” she said softly. “I don’t want to cause any trouble.”
“You won’t be causing any trouble,” I reassured her. “We have plenty of space, and my pack would be happy to have you stay with us while you recover. And I promise to do everything I can to make sure you don’t miss your classes.”

Alivia bit her lip, considering my offer. “I don’t want to impose,” she said finally.

“You won’t be imposing,” I said firmly. “In fact, I insist. It is important that we monitor your condition and make sure you’re getting the proper care.”
Alivia sighed, but I could see the acceptance in her eyes. “Okay,” she said finally. “I’ll stay.”

I let out a relieved sigh. “Thank you,” I said. “I will arrange for a room to be prepared for you. In the meantime, you can rest and make yourself comfortable.”

Alivia smiled gratefully. “Thank you,” she said. “I really appreciate it.”

I returned her smile before turning and walking out of the room and towards the pack house. As I walked, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation at the thought of having her close to me. There was definitely something there between us, and I was determined to explore it further.
