THE URGENT COUNCIL MEETING
**DR Volkov POV**
I woke up to the gentle sound of Alivia's breathing, her chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm. A few strands of her golden hair had fallen across her face, framing her delicate features. With a gentle touch, I brushed the hair away, admiring the peaceful expression on her face.
For a moment, all the weight of my responsibilities lifted, and I felt a sense of calm wash over me. It was a rare feeling, one that I treasured in the midst of the chaos that surrounded me.
With a reluctant sigh, I stood up from the chair next to her bed, my muscles sore from sleeping in such an uncomfortable position. I couldn't even remember when I had dozed off, my mind too consumed by thoughts of my pack and their safety.
I made my way to the bathroom, splashing cold water on my face to wake myself up. As I looked at my reflection in the mirror, I couldn't help but wonder where I had smelled Alivia's scent before. It was familiar, yet I couldn't quite place it.
With a sense of urgency, I made my way to my workshop. The stack of paperwork on my desk greeted me, causing impatience and frustration to bubble up inside me. But I pushed those feelings aside, my mind wandering to Vasil , I sent him to the council but he didn’t return yet.
I couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss, and I was anxious for his return. But as I worked my way through the paperwork, a commotion outside my door interrupted my thoughts. Vasil stumbled into the room, his face red and sweat pouring down his forehead.
"Alpha!" he gasped, trying to catch his breath. "I'm sorry it took so long. The council... I have some news.”
"What did they say, Vasil?" I asked, trying to contain my impatience.
Vasil took a moment to catch his breath before speaking. "The council decided to come here to our pack they need to speak to you about something urgent."
I felt a sense of dread settle in my stomach. The council only came to our pack when there was a serious issue that needed to be addressed. I knew that whatever they had to say would be important. "Thank you, Vasil. I'll prepare for their arrival." I dismissed him, my mind already working on what I needed to do.
I walk over to my balcony and notice Alivia in the garden below. my eyes fixated on her as she moved about the garden below. The sunlight danced through her long, golden hair, creating a halo of light around her. She moved with such grace and ease, playing with the kids in my pack.
Her beauty and the way she carried herself left me feeling mesmerized, as if I were under some kind of spell. I had never met anyone like her before, and I found myself wanting to get to know her better.
As I watched her, I could not help but notice the way she laughed and smiled, her whole face lighting up with joy. However, as the Alpha, I needed to be careful. My position carried many responsibilities, and I couldn't afford to let my personal feelings get in the way of my duty to my pack.
Despite the risks, I found myself watching her, unable to resist her presence and the way she brought light to my world. The way he looked at her made my blood boil. I knew I had to keep my emotions in check and focus on the task at hand, but the sight of them together was too much to bear.
I tore my gaze away and made my way back to my desk, my mind racing with thoughts of the council's impending arrival. Whatever urgent matter they needed to discuss with me, I knew it would require my full attention.
As I sorted through the paperwork on my desk, I could not help but think about Alivia. Despite the risks and the complications that came with my position, I couldn't resist the pull towards her.
But for now, duty came first. I had a pack to lead and protect, and whatever the council had to say would have to take precedence over my personal desires.
**Alivia POV**
As I drifted in and out of sleep, I heard a soft whisper calling my name. I stirred, my eyes fluttering open, but the room was empty. Confused, I scanned the area, trying to make sense of what had just happened. Was it just my imagination playing tricks on me? It must have been.
I pushed the thought aside and got out of bed, feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin as it poured in through the large windows. I made my way to the bathroom, splashing water on my face to wake myself up.
As I finished drying my face, my mind wandered back to Dr. Volkov. I could not help but think about how he had stayed with me throughout the night, comforting me during my nightmares and making sure I was comfortable. I wondered if he had gone back to his own room after I had finally fallen asleep.
Dr Volkov is an Alpha unlike any werewolf I had ever met. His pack was a diverse mix of species, something that was unheard of in the werewolf community. And despite his stern demeanour and cold expression, I had seen a softer side of him when he took care of me. It was an unexpected and refreshing change from what I had come to expect.
I dressed quickly, wanting to explore the pack territory and get to know my new surroundings. I made my way downstairs and noticed all the pack members gathered in the garden enjoying the sunshine and I decided to join them. I couldn't help but notice how friendly and welcoming the pack members were. They all seemed to genuinely care about each other. It was clear that the Alpha had created a pack that was like a family, and I was grateful to be a part of it.
As I watched the kids playing around, laughter and giggles filling the air, my heart swelled with a sense of joy and excitement. Without thinking, I found myself walking towards them, eager to join in on the fun. As I approached, the children looked up at me with curious eyes, but it did not take long for them to welcome me into their playtime.
We ran around the garden, playing tag and chasing each other, and for the first time in a while, I felt carefree and happy. The pack members around us cheered us on and joined in on the fun, making me feel like I truly belonged.
Just then I noticed Adam walking towards me with a smile on his face, "Alivia what are you doing here?"
I turned to face Adam, my cheeks flushing slightly from the exertion of playing with the children. "I was just joining in on the fun," I replied with a grin.
Adam chuckled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "You certainly seem to be enjoying yourself."
I shrugged, feeling a sense of warmth spreading through me. "It's been a while since I've felt this carefree and happy," I said honestly. "The pack members are all so welcoming and friendly, it's hard not to feel like I belong here."
Adam nodded, his smile turning thoughtful. "That's one of the things that makes Dr. Volkov’s pack so special," he said. "They know how to make you feel like you apart of their family. And they take care of their own."
I felt a lump form in my throat at his words, feeling grateful for the kindness and acceptance that had been shown to me. "I'm really glad I found this pack," I said softly.
Adam's smile grew wider as he placed a hand on my shoulder. "We're all glad you're here, Alivia. You're one of us now."
I felt a sense of belonging and acceptance wash over me at his words, grateful for the bond that was forming between me and the pack. It was a feeling that I had never experienced before, and it was something that I knew I would cherish for a long time to come.
As we continued to watch the kids play, I could not help but feel a sense of contentment. I had found a home, and it was in the most unexpected of places. With Dr. Volkov and his pack, I knew that I had found a group of people who would support and care for me, no matter what challenges we might face in the future.
Just then, a loud howl pierced through the air, interrupting my thoughts. The pack members all stood up, their expressions turning serious as they started to move towards the forest. "What's going on?" I asked Adam, feeling a sense of worry creeping in.
"I'm not sure," he replied, his tone tense. "But we need to go find out." With that, he took my hand and started leading me towards the entrance of the pack house. My heart racing, I followed him, unsure of what was waiting for us.
