UNFATHOMABLE POWERS

** Dr Volkov POV**

My body went rigid as I witnessed the sight of Alivia, enveloped in a dazzling green glow. The clashes and struggles ceased as all eyes were fixed on her growing strength. The intensity of the light was so overwhelming that it caused a piercing sensation in my eyes, and I instinctively raised my arm to shield them. The air crackled with energy, and I could feel the power pulsating from her. It was as if Alivia was tapping into an unfathomable force, the brilliance of the light was overwhelming, and it left me speechless, my mind unable to fully grasp the magnitude of what I was witnessing. It was a sight that filled me with equal parts wonder and trepidation, as I realized that Alivia's powers were far beyond anything I could have imagined.

I focused my gaze; I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Jess's wounds, the result of the savage attack by the rogue wolves, were mending right before my eyes. Cuts and bruises that were so vivid just moments ago were vanishing, as if they had never existed. It was a sight that left me utterly dumbfounded, my mind struggling to comprehend the impossible. I could hear my own breath hitching as my jaw dropped in sheer amazement. In this world of werewolves and magic, I still couldn't believe my eyes as I watched Jess's wounds heal themselves before me. Even with the presence of supernatural abilities, the sheer magnitude of Alivia's power surpassed anything I had ever witnessed before. This moment shook my understanding of the natural world to its core and filled me with a sense of fascination and dread.

As I stood there, taking in the scene before me, a thought crossed my mind. Could Alivia be the one from the witches' prophecy? The one who is said to possess unimaginable powers and would be able to put a stop to the virus? It seemed almost too surreal, but the evidence was right in front of me. Alivia's powers were undeniable, and it made me wonder if she was indeed the chosen one.

In that critical moment, my keen eyes caught sight of Adrienne, his massive wolf form charging towards Alivia with a menacing snarl, my heart clenched with alarm. Without a moment's hesitation, my instincts kicked in, propelling me towards them in a blur of fur and speed. The sight of Adrienne's approaching threat and the sound of his angry growls filled my senses, narrowing down my world to that singular moment.

I collided with Adrienne with a resounding thud, placing myself firmly between him and Alivia. The impact sent shockwaves through my body, but I stood tall, my hackles raised, and teeth bared, ready to protect Alivia at all costs. Adrienne's rage was palpable as he tried to push past me, his snarls, and lunges relentless. But I met him head-on, using every ounce of my strength to hold my ground despite the scraping of his claws against my fur and the danger of his snapping teeth.

As the standoff continued, my chest heaved, and adrenaline coursed through my veins. Locked in a fierce gaze with Adrienne, I growled menacingly, "Adrienne, what the fuck are you doing?"

The confusion and anger in Adrienne's eyes were evident, but I refused to back down. My presence and determination sent a clear message, urging him to reconsider his actions. The tension in the air was palpable as we stood face to face, the sound of our growls filling the air.

Adrienne's growl rumbled through the air as he snarled at me, "Get out of my way, Volkov! I need to protect my mate!" His words laced with anger and urgency as he lunged forward, his massive wolf form barrelling towards Alivia.

With equal determination, I stood my ground, pushing him back with force as he stumbled, momentarily taken aback. "Wait!" I shouted above the commotion, my voice cutting through the snarls and growls. "Alivia is not harming her, she is healing her!"

I could see the confusion flicker in Adrienne's eyes as he paused, his aggressive posture faltering for a split second. It was a crucial moment, and I seized the opportunity to convey the truth, to show him with my actions that Alivia posed no threat.

I took a step aside, allowing Adrienne to see Jess lying on the ground, her wounds almost completely gone, her breathing even. However, I still positioned myself between Adrienne and Alivia, my body acting as a protective shield, my eyes locked on Adrienne's every move.

Adrienne's eyes narrowed as he took in the scene, his initial rage dissipating as he realized his mistake. His expression softened slightly, a flicker of relief crossing his features as he saw Jess healing before his eyes. He looked from Jess to Alivia, and back to Jess again, his emotions evident in his gaze.

Adrienne took a step towards Jess, his movements tentative, as if still processing the situation. As I stood between Alivia and Adrienne, my gaze flicking between them and the rogue wolves, the tension in the air was palpable. Adrienne's initial aggression towards Alivia had dissipated, replaced by a mix of relief and remorse as he laid down beside Jess, his protective instincts taking over. I could see the concern etched on his face, his large form hovering over Jess with a newfound tenderness.

Adrienne turned to look at Alivia, He realized that Alivia had been trying to help all along, and his earlier judgment had been hasty. The relief on his face was evident as he observed Jess's improved condition, and I could see a sense of remorse flickering in his eyes.

Meanwhile, the rogue wolves seemed to falter in their aggression. The air crackled with tension as they glanced at each other, their snarls, and growls subsiding. Uncertainty crept in as their tails lowered and their ears flicked nervously. They took a hesitant step back, their bravado waning.

As the tension dissipated, the rogue wolves retreated one by one, their demeanour subdued. Their tails tucked between their legs and their heads held low in submission, they moved hastily, their once bold strides reduced to hurried steps as they sought to put as much distance as possible between themselves and our group.

As the last of the rogue wolves disappeared into the wilderness, I turned my attention back to Alivia's her body slumped with exhaustion. Crackles of power still flowed around her, evidence of the immense, unknown, and unstable force she had just unleashed. It was clear that she had pushed herself to the limit, and her weakened state showed it. As I approached Alivia, my heart clenched with concern. Her complexion had paled, and her breaths were ragged and shallow. The crackle of power around her began to dim until it eventually vanished, leaving her visibly drained. Without hesitation, I shifted back into my human form, and I scooped Alivia up into my arms, cradling her gently against my chest. Her head lolled weakly against my shoulder, and I focused all my attention on getting her to the safety of the infirmary.

But as I turned, my senses heightened from the recent altercation, I caught a glimpse of movement in the corner of my eye. My gaze narrowed, and I saw a hooded figure disappearing into the shadows, a malevolent smirk on their face.

Adrenaline surged through me as I realized that someone had been watching us, and their intentions were anything but benign. My protective instincts kicked in, and I carefully placed Alivia down,

"Adrienne," I said urgently, and he looked at me with concern. "Get Alivia and Jess to the infirmary," I instructed, before swiftly switching back to my wolf form and taking off after the mysterious figure.

My footsteps were swift and determined as I pursued the hooded figure through the dark forest, my mind racing with questions. Who was this person, and why were they lurking in the shadows, observing my pack? The adrenaline coursed through my veins, heightening my senses as I closed in on the figure. They moved with a sinister grace, always staying just out of reach, taunting me with their smirk.

I chased the hooded figure deeper into the dense forest, their smirk taunting me from afar. But just as I thought I was gaining ground, the figure suddenly vanished without a trace. My keen senses were on high alert, scanning the area for any sign of their presence, but they had vanished into thin air. Frustration and curiosity gnawed at me as I paced back and forth, searching for clues. Who was this mysterious figure, and why were they observing my pack with such malevolence? What were their intentions, and why did they disappear when confronted?

As I stood there, my mind racing with unanswered questions, a foreboding sense of danger settled over me. The forest seemed to close in around me, the shadows whispering with unknown threats.
